I’ve spent the last 2 days working on my brand. I know my target customer. I choose my pictures for my mood board. I’ve designed a sticker, thank you postcard and a banner. Gonna use the mood board for colors and font. I have a techie friend that can draft my designs. I have a broken arm and can’t paint but I’m using this time to be productive another way. I can’t wait to actually paint my board! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I don’t want a “small business” my tax man said “tough!” It’s no longer a hobby/craft. But…it is my passion! I don’t understand this trend, especially the testimonials. It seems so dishonest since you’re paying for the content. Am I missing something?
That's an EXCELLENT point and you're not missing anything. UGC used to be "real" users generating real content AKA your customers sending you real reviews organically. This is different in that it's essentially paying someone to do it which is a bit like TV ads, but made affordable and accessible for small businesses and on social/internet rather than actual TV. I do think we are going to get used to it in the same way we now know that the woman on TV telling us she loves doing her laundry thanks to "OMO, though on stains" probably doesn't even use OMO herself and is a paid actress. Right now it's working really well because most customers don't know it's paid .. and I do think it will slowly be less performant BUT still a great new way to advertise products. PS: so yes testimonials are a testimonials "style" when producing a video ad, not a real testimonial. I do think the public should know about this and it shoudn't be hidden and I think it will come, in the same way influencers now have to say "this is a sponsored post"
