WOW! What an incredibly interesting choice of form! It is beautiful, the grain is lovely, and the color variations in the wood pop.
That really is pretty cool. I wasn’t sure what you were trying to do in the beginning. The end result is amazing!

The videos with cardboard or fabric are cool, but watching you work an actual hunk of tree is awe inspiring.
You got everything that you could possibly have gotten out of that piece of wood. A challenging and beautiful piece.

It takes a lot of courage to put a log of such dimensions on the relatively small lathe, and even a holly. But the holly always rewards you, it has many hidden graces.
