    My name is Henry Tenby of Jetflix TV and I recently had the opportunity to fly business class seat 1K on Eurowings Discover between Toronto Pearson airport and Frankfurt in early November of 2022. My video is quite comprehensive and it documents the entire flight from start to end including all aspects of the onboard product, the comfort levels, the meals, and onboard service levels. You will want to stick around and watch right through to the very end for the surprise ending on this one, as it’s not what you expect.

      Very good Aydin .. their on board product is pretty good but if you’re checking baggage through Frankfurt, it’s definitely a risk. The baggage handling at Frankfurt airport is contracted out and the airlines aren’t directly responsible. Certainly the case of Eurowings Discover .. so best if you do not check luggage.

      @@JetFlix Thank you so much for letting me know! Yes, EW Discover is identical to Lufthansa's product, and Lufthansa is really good so I hope EW Discover is like that. This review really does help, as I have an idea of what to expect. Thanks again, and I may share some photos with you next week from this upcoming (less than 8 days) trip!

    Good review of Eurowings, hope you didn’t have to wait much longer for your remaining bag. 👍 ✈️

      It was a lot of stress the delay as I had a busy day ahead. They divered the bag to my hotel at lunch time the next day. But getting compensation for the delay was 100 percent impossible as there is no human interaction with bag claim matters. They will not speak to you on the phone, phone agrnts say “all baggage matters are only dealt with by email” which is disgraceful for a Lufthansa code share product. It was a totay substandard experience. The fact I was business class made it even worse.

    Ah, the missing bag! Nothing quite like it for getting a holiday or business trip off to a bad start. It’s an all to frequent occurrence unfortunately. Less frequent is what happened to my wife and I in the summer. Our bags arrived in Victoria before we did. Our Air Canada flight from Montreal to Vancouver was delayed so we missed our connection to Victoria. Unfortunately there was no space on either of the two later flights so we had to stay the night at an airport hotel and get the early flight the following morning. When we finally arrived at YYJ our bags did not appear on the belt so we went to the customer service desk only to find that they were already there having arrived on one of the full flights the previous evening.

      That is a different version of the story, bags arrived on sked, pax delayed. My issue with Eurowings Discover is that my bags were 50 feet away and I waited a few hours as they did not have staff to put them on the belt, and their customer service people would not discuss baggage issues! Baggage issues would only be addressed via email just total BS in my books. It’s a bloody shambles because the passenger has no means of determining when their baggage will be delivered. The passenger has no way to get any form of compensation for the delay. For Lufthansa, this is a grotesque display of shoddy service.

    Is that terminal 2 at Frankfurt? They fly in the summer to Halifax. It is one of the only ways to fly between Europe and Nova Scotia. Condor also flies the route. Yes, I have also done business from Frankfurt-Vancouver. Also first from Munich-YVR when 1st still existed.

      I do not know the terminal names in Frankfurt. All I can tell you is it’s the original 1960s terminal building.

    I'm looking right now at a schedule by Lufthansa. It's very good with one layover rather than 2.
    The First leg is with Eurowings, then 1 hour layover in Frankfurt and to our final destination. Of course our luggage will be transferred to Lufthansa flight to our final destination.
    After watching your video regarding missing luggage and so on, I think we will try another airline. We might reach our destination and our luggage will not arrive. We will be hopping to 3 different islands, I don't know if our luggage will reach us.
    Plane and food in business class is like Condor which are good. But big question marks on schedules and if you're flying the same size of aircraft.

      I totally agree!!! If yog are checking bags it may very well be a horrible experience, specially at FRA where the airline will say they are not responsible. Try an American based carrier. Any carrier that has their own staff to handle bags at FRA. Otherwise this upset can happen.

    I flew business class on Eurowings this week. I was unimpressed after having flown the route in business on Lufthansa. EW is more like Spirit than Lufthansa.

      I totally agree about Eurowings. They’re definitely far inferior to Lufthansa. Their very poor service business class doesn’t have to be the case either. That’s the sad thing .. as I explain in my video.

    I am glad you had a good experience on this discount, inferior airline. This year it has failed to show up, at all, for its flights from/to Philadelphia for days on end. They did reroute me, but it was for 3 days after the original flight.
    Avoid at all cost, if possible.

      Euro wings is discover is certainly not up to Lufthansa standard that’s for sure. if you don’t check baggage and you’re just looking for a fairly comfortable business class seat at a reasonable price, it can be a good option.

    You have to keep in mind, that the airport as a company itself hires different groundstaff companies which have nothing to do with the company you flew on! Thanks anyways for the POV !

      That’s what my parents taught me too, food waste is terrible. But the bloke beside me was a war criminal in this regard. He took one bite from the fish and said “bring me the other choice” .. which they did. And he then did a repeat performance. He wasted 2 business class entrees. That was an abomination.

    Airlines are all guilty of losing bags. Hopeless. How hard is it to get the bags on the same aircraft as the passenger. No reason why the passenger could not put the bags on the trolley for the aircraft they are on and that gets loaded before them.

    • @JetFlix
      @JetFlix  Рік тому

      Great comment and I do agree but I should explain that my bag was brought to 50 feet from where I was standing and they didn’t have the manpower to deliver it to me. I had a little tracker in my bag so I knew exactly where it was and even the agent helping me was in disbelief. Over the course of 90 minutes she must’ve made 10 phone calls to the bag room asking for my bag to be put through onto the belt or onto the slide tray and it never happened. The excuse that kept coming back was they don’t have the manpower. Quite frankly that’s not my problem And to make the passenger wait nearly 2 hours and go through this back-and-forth hassle is totally unacceptable. Eurowings Discover should’ve told me after the first 15 or 20 minutes that there was an issue and that I should just go to my hotel and it would be delivered. But they could not give me that confidence and that’s the problem. #eurowings #eurowingsdiscover #lufthansa

      @@JetFlix Even worse. They are supposed to be a service industry. Baggage handlers know that their job is to help people. I am not a frequent flier but spent my university holidays working in the clerical section of a very small airline. There the captain and first officer made an effort on every flight to make sure the bags and passengers (Pax) wete reunited before the aircraft went anywhere else.

      @@JetFlix I thought they all got a wake up call when one airline emptied a person off the aircraft after checking him on board due to "overbooking" a few years ago. That was a disgrace and shows how little they care about their customers.

    I will not pay so much money to fly in an aircraft with that Business class layout..you still have to cross over or worst,wake up the person sleeping next to you if you are at the window,when you need to stretch or go to the toilet..I love United Polaris layout..1-2-1 and will be flying it in July from MCO-CDG return...Eurowings also has horrible reviews...

    • @JetFlix
      @JetFlix  Рік тому

      Actually, this was a frequent flyer point redemption flight for me, quite a few points were given up, as I didn’t want to go in economy, as flights were full for the time across the Atlantic into Germany from Canada. I put up with the passenger beside me as I was able to put my feet out and have a decent sleep. But the issue with my luggage was just a major upset, and the airline did not take care of me at all. They gave zero compensation, and if I didn’t have an Apple tracker in my luggage who knows what would’ve happened .. their baggage handling was absolutely terrible on the part of Lufthansa Eurowings discovery, graceful. What I found the most upsetting was once I left the airport. Eurowings discovery would not discuss baggage matters on the telephone. It was only done by email, which is absolutely infuriating and crazy and terrible. Terrible service for the passenger and it certainly wouldn’t have happened with United airlines, Delta airlines, Air Canada shame on this company for such grotesquely poor service.
