Beyonce filmed in her backyard for the tree scenes. She filmed in different parts of Africa, Belgium, Grand Canyon *(for her Spirit and Bigger music videos), and small parts of Europe too. Her videos display different Easter Eggs of different countries in Africa and the Diaspora. She put it in a way that it intrigues us to look at and analyze where things are from, their meaning in connection to the culture and our ancestry.
Black is King is Rich in information and creativity.
For example, Brown Skinned Girl had an Indian model in it to represent the brown girls of India because their culture deals with a lot of colorism like we in the African diaspora do.
This is the curated The Lion king:The Gift album in an imagined retelling but from a human African perspective . The Disney story of the Lion King was based off the richest African family back in the 1200's anyways.
That wasn't the full video for water so I hope you got a chance to find a video that showed the whole thing. Yes. The video and the large plastic water containers were built to look like a stage for Pharrell was connected in concept.
I was really excited to see you guys watch MY POWER in whole and not in part. But Water, Bigger and My Power are everything to me.

The parts with Beyoncé and Shatta Walle in them were film in America and the other parts, Ghana, Nigeria, and south Africa, it was filmed last year
She wasn't speaking Zulu, it Xhosa, and yes she's south African
1:40 well the man who voiced Rafiki in The Lion King (2019) (which is where the interludes on the album/in the film are from) is the same man who played the late king in Black Panther so...

The movie black is king sound track is from her Album "The Gift" from when she did the voice over of Nala in the remake of lion king. Also, the intro of the song "Already" is from Lion King. Merry Christmas!!

The black is king video album follow along loosely lion king storyline and explore the African diaspora through various African cities, African fashions and culture along the way. Most video represents a scene in the lion King movie or multiple scenes/themes in order. She work with various African artist, musicians, choreographer, fashion designer to make it authentic. It seems to be loosely analogous to African struggles throughout the world, including the African-American struggle.
Black people in the states say water differently. Beyoncé is from the south “wau-tah” or “war-the” would be her pronunciation.

I think that Beyonce is first and foremost a member of the African American community and representations of/references to Africa and the relation we have to that continent is just that a reference or acknowledgement. I can't wait to see what one of the African artist she collaborated with does their platform. Will there be an appreciation or reference to African American culture?
