This was great. No shade, you guys are so adorably clueless when it comes to Black culture. It's what makes your reaction vids so endearing, because it's definitely not your wheelhouse, but you really come to it with an open heart & open mind.
Couple of notes: Beyoncé voiced the character of adult Nala in The Lion King 2019. In collaboration with that (because Beyoncé is always 2 steps ahead), she released a companion soundtrack of music "from & inspired by" the film (Spirit is the only song from the album actually featured in the movie) called The Lion King: The Gift. The album is essentially a love letter to Africa & Black American culture with a lot of familial love thrown in. It features contemporary artists from several African countries, most notably Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa. It's great for a lot of reasons. For me personally, I love it because every single song slaps AND it's a Lion King soundtrack, so you can play the whole thing straight through with the kids in the room without having to run jump for the mute or skip buttons (truly a Gift). It's family friendly.
Being always 2 steps ahead, Beyoncé then released this visual album on the 1 year anniversary of the film entitled BLACK IS KING, and features many of the artists who contributed to the album, as well as her children (most notably her eldest daughter, Blue), mother, husband (he features on one track), and a host of beautiful & famous Black folks.
THIS video is only one segment of the BIK experience and, though it's visually eye popping on its own, you really need to see the entire film to get the full context. The BIK film, though credited as "a film by Beyoncé", actually features several directors from various African countries to give more context & weight to the traditional & contemporary references.
That being said, as a Black American, there were a lot of cultural references that I didn't get right off the bat (because slavery). So I had to look deeper and do some research of my own (which I love because: nerd). There are so many great articles & essays already about some of the traditional imagery & symbolism, so you could literally just Google "Black Is King cultural references" and come up with a ton of knowledge.
Love you guys! Keep the Beyoncé reactions coming please!
You guy's should also react to Spirit + Bigger
Since yall are such fans of her “Halo” era sound you should probably listen to “Spirit and Bigger”. Also “MY POWER” is high energy. These are from the The Black is King visual movie as well.
This comment!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
And go watch BLACK IS KING on Disney plus
They pinned your comment 🗣
She has a lot of video's with Choreography. 😂
Single Ladies, Formation, Dance For You, Sweet Dreams, Run The World, Diva, Video Phone, Baby Boy, Deja Vu, Upgrade U. And she does a lot more choreography when she performs live.
Exactly... like what’s going on here 😬
I think my head exploded when they said someone commented that she doesn’t/couldn’t dance.😂😂😂
It's legit the most adorably hilarious thing when they're all "Beyoncé dances???" 🤣
Like when will they watch one??!!!
and those are just to name a few
Beyoncé is literally known for her dancing lol. You guys definitely have to watch her live performances and more choreographed videos. 'Formation' is one of her best, but it's the last song on Lemonade.
Beyoncé has been ranked by classical vocal professors as one of the 4 greatest vocalists in pop music. Shes classically trained in opera
Beyoncé played Nala in the new lion king and she made a whole album last year titled “The Gift”. ‘Black is King’ is basically a compilation of music videos for each song on the album. This film took a whole year to make which is why it just came out last month.
She is highlighting African artists. It was called “The Gift” (to Africa). This music was curated to go along with the Lion King movie. You said in another video that she worked with Disney. This is the work she did with Disney. :). They asked her to curate an album (this one) and do two songs for the movie (Spirit and Bigger). She’s highlighting Dance Hall from Ghana here. Shah - tah wah - Leigh is how you pronounce Shatta Wale and he’s pretty famous in Ghana. Her gift is highlighting talent from around Africa instead of using US artists and whitening the beauty of African dance and music. You should watch the making of the gift.
Black is King is the visual album of The Gift
Also if you wanna see Beyonce dance watch her special on Netflix called Homecoming
Come for Beyoncé, but stay for your friendship/chemistry. Your reactions are always entertaining.
Agree. They’re adorable 🥰 and I’ve learn a bit about metal too. It’s all good!
Great reaction ! btw the girls were dancers not models that's why they kept the poses perfectly. :)
BLACK IS KING is a visual album that is a straight-up masterpiece! The Queen looked like a Goddess in this video! She was giving me tribal realness. Her hair was laid and the inches were slaying me. Your favs could NEVER!
Never ever!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
The song is a piece in Black is King. It’s a narrative/ retelling of the lion king in modern day Africa but also celebrating African ancestry from African Americans. This song is basically when Nala tells Simba its time to take his place as king
some background: Beyoncé produced an album/soundtrack called “The Lion King: The Gift” when *The Lion King (2019)* came out and went along with the story of the movie that featured artists from Africa. and then this year she put out a visual version of the album called “Black Is King” on Disney plus which is pretty much the story of The Lion King but in human form
Guys His name is pronounced Shatta WALEIGH... Africa in the building 😎
She is one of the Best dancing artists in the world, come on guys 😅
Dancing is something that Beyoncé is known for. She’s a triple threat, dancing, vocals and she produces majority of her music and videos. If you want to watch some choreo definitely watch formation from the formation world tour or diva from homecoming or on the run 2. You guys definitely should do some of her live stuff, that’s where A LOT of work is showcased compared to music videos
You left beauty
Love your reactions ! this is different because it's a celebration of Africa and African culture, so Simba finding his root is a metaphor for african americans that don't know their roots or ancestry because of slavery. Also it's nice to see so many shades of black men shining for once on mainstream media.
Best comment ever
Many shades of black men do shine in mainstream media, especially darker-skinned ones. Not so much regarding women, though. The entertainment industry tends to lean more towards the Zendayas and Zoe Kravitzes and Zazie Beatses these days.
This channel is gradually turning into a Beyoncé reacting channel and we love to see it 🥰
We stan metal beyhive
Like lemonade you need to watch this in order because the songs tell a story. Black is King. It's on Disney plus
Yeah... it’s the part where Rafiki is talking to Simba about not knowing who he is. Notice Rafiki still has his accent, while Simba doesn’t.
The teal guy is just a dancer. He and Beyoncé are basically spirit guides/consciousness through the movie.
I would suggest watching the movie not necessarily for reaction. There are many beautiful moments. Very uplifting. 🤷🏾♀️
Also, there’s nothing demonic. Everything has meaning/cultural references including the costuming.
Simba never had an accent.
@@indigophoenixskies1030 but if he were to be a human being he would
Wishing Star ...yes, but they were from the same place meaning he should’ve. That’s on Disney though. Even His mother and father had a bit of an accent. At least in the original.
In reality, he would’ve.
Simba didn't have an African accent lol have you seen the Lion King?
@@dimplesaustin4550 well thank you, it was released by disney
MAJOR LAZER its a group of Djs. They did the beat...don't know if they produced it. You guys should react to more Beyoncé live stuff where she dance like:
Beyoncé - Billboard Awards 2011
Beyoncé - superbowl 2013
Beyoncé - Formation live at superbowl 2016
She is known for her perfect performances dancing and singing perfectly at live.
Fun fact about this video: at one point while Beyonce was dancing with the blue man, one of her shoes broke and you see a few shots of her dancing without a heel on her shoe lol
You guys got me panicking, I thought you actually watched the full Black is King 🙅🏾♂️ My day would have been complete lol
I wasn't expecting you guys to fast forward all the way! LOL...2013 Super Bowl would be good...the voice, choreography and lots of songs packed into one.
🗣 ANY BEYHIVE THAT HAS A PROBLEM WITH THIS REACTION COME SEE ME. They give genuine reactions y’all and they are open minded, so no slander will be tolerated. Keep the Beyoncé coming y’all 💕
Beyonce's Super Bowl performance has everything
which one😂
Shabba is from the Carribean. Shatta is Ghanaian.
Both do dancehall apparently. Shatta Wale is a Ghanaian dancehall artist
I thought so but didn’t wasn’t 100%.
i can’t tell if i hate or love how clueless these men are when it comes to black culture, african names and beyoncé as a whole. this just further proves the point of y’all needing to watch Black Is King on Disney+. it’s a beautiful way of retelling The Lion King movie. music like this, that is influenced by african beats and features african musicians is really important to bring it to american mainstream! You will understand the song by watching Black Is King. Also his name is pronounced Shatta Wall-AYE.
I find myself getting high blood pressure when I watch any of their Beyoncé reactions
watch Black is King but I would recommend they open some books.this is why travel and book knowlege is imperative..hopefully before reviewing anything cultural or black artists...its cringe worthy
I mean these two white men are obviously metal heads, I genuinely don't expect them to know anything about black culture.
You have to play Black is King for your son. Is a great film for all ages.
My attempt to explain what this song is about:
This song is part of the film black is kind which is a retelling of the lion king. When simba gets lost in the lion king - in this film the protagonist is a young black man who is misled and lost in life, unsure of his potential, disconnected from his history and culture and still a a product of the aftermath of slavery - shaped by racism.
So the film has Beyoncé and the blue man as the protagonists ancestors (and conscience) who are telling him he IS a king. And they explain king differently than the monarchy sense. So the black man in today's world finds his way, reconnected with his culture and past in new ways - to move forward healed (which is why African artists are a huge part of this movie - like Shatta Wale)
Omfg! The Shabba Ranks impression cracked me up.
omg I thought this was a reaction to the film, this is just the music video for ‘Already’ guys
It’s pronounced Shatta Wah-ley. And Major Lazer are the DJs who produced the song so they physically aren’t in the video
She broke her shoe dancing and it made
the video.
Sabrina van Bennekom - dos Santos no, she broke her heel not ankle 😂
Sabrina van Bennekom - dos Santos lol bro she broke her left heel on her shoe while dancing
"SHABBAAAA"
"......what?"
yall are hilarious
I think you guys should watch some of her interviews to get a feel for who she is. She’s really known for being one of the kindest and meekest celebrities off the stage
Please react to upgrade you by Beyoncé ft. Jay Z . I THINK YALL WILL LIKE IT
They should do "Crazy In Love" first.
yes. this!
I love seeing y’all react to r&b/hip-hop! I’m a huge Beyoncé fan, and this album and movie (on Disney plus) is amazing. Please check out the movie if y’all have time and a chance. I’d rewatch the movie through a reaction vid for sure. Awesome channel btw
Thank you for your support. I dont think Disney would like us reacting to their movie though
Bowzer’s reaction Pit lol well if you want another suggestion, Missy Elliot -The Rain. It’s well known and a throwback
Bowzer’s reaction Pit - people have totally done it on their UA-cam channel so you guys definitely can!!!!

@@BowsersreactionPit Please could you record the reaction to Crazy In Love, it's from the same show in 2011. With Crazy In Love opens the show in glastonbury and there you will see Beyoncé dancing while pregnant. At that time no one knew, until months after he sings Love On Top on MTV and touches his belly. They also have to react to that video, his voice is incredible!
Beyoncé - Crazy In Love (Glastonbury 2011)

Beyoncé Love On Top (MTV LIVE 2011)

@@BowsersreactionPit Sorry if I misspelled, I'm using google translator haha ... Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina !!
Crazy in love - Coachella!!!!!!!!!!!
React to Beyonce's " me, myself and I" live or "Listen" live at Oprah
Yes, do „listen” guys. It is her the best vocal song in my opinion 😊
That performance at Oprah is awesome
Major Lazer is a music trio composed of Diplo and 2 other DJs. They produced and mixed the music.
Beyoncé - Crazy in love live. One of the best for her vocals and choreography
Here for everything you guys post now! 🙌🏽
2013 superbowl halftime show
Beyonce CAN dance
Beyonce has got a huge versatility Afro beat country rock pop etc etc she’s done it
Wow. Shabba Ranks? I was not expecting you to pull that name out of your head. Haha. Any soca or punta artists in that head of yours as well? Haha.
Thank you guys for doing this!! Great video!
My power is an awesome video from Beyonce as well. Again, yall did not disappoint, I love your reactions!! Keep them coming!
I haven’t even pressed play and I’m excited to see them react to this 😱
Beyonce is one of the best dancers in the industry, she is killing it 👍
This is actually Already, a part of Black is King
SHAT-TAH. WAL-EH. I'm dying to see your reaction to WAP, and of the rock variety, I highly recommend De-Loused in the Comatorium by (the) Mars Volta. That album is a classic.
WAP reaction yesss!

Omg yes 👏👏 you guys are loving bey. I'm so chuffed
beyoncé is a phenomenal dancer. y’all have to get into more of her stuff with choreo. :)
Definitely crushing on Sporto! Love you guys reactions! Keep em coming!
Ooooh. Can’t wait! I just watched the movie today!!
She broke her heel during the choreography in that black and White outfit 🔥🔥🔥🔥 and she still was dancing!! If you look closer, you will see it. Ultimate Queen. ❤️🔥
Please react to Beyoncé flawless ft NickiMinaj live

Lol you guys make me smile... I love B, love this song... LOVE Black is King! And looooove the Shabba Ranks reference lol, was not expecting that! 🤣😂
I am mesmorised by the sped up dancing part, like that was the part where I was like wwwoooaahhh cool! But that reaction was great lol! 'It's like they're possessed!' *physically demonstrates possession* lol!
Halo is every locals favourite lol 😂
Hey Guys!
I would recommend Beyonces set at the 2016 VMAs, it's the lemomdade era, it's got great vocals and dancing and bey live is always the best! love these beyonce reaction videos ❤
you guys are so cute 😄 thanks for making this
Hahahahahahahah you guys are out of your depths in this album. Beyonce does . IT. ALL. Perfectly. How many times must we say this 😂 so fun to watch
yesss thank youuuu
😂 I love how much yall love Beyonce. It's so cute.
Anyway good reaction again to Beyonce. Take your time and Good noon you guys. 👍 :) Watching here from 🇵🇭
I'M OBSESSED WITH YOUR BEYONCE'S REACTIONS... in every video your reactions are different and you have always something good to add. React to Single Ladies, it's one of the most famous songs by her and she's still dancing it in the same way... sending good vibes to you!!
I’m BEGGING please watch Beyoncé 2017 Grammy performance next. She was pregnant and it’s beautiful and you will love it
The best reaction duo rn on UA-cam
I’m glad y’all got to see Beyoncé dance a bit but now it’s time to see the real choreography! Do Super Bowl 2013 and/or homecoming
Lmaooo 😂 he said the sped up thing is freaking me out smh😂
The pronunciation of Shatta's last name is [WAH- LAY]. This album features artists from different parts of Africa and United States from the black diaspora. It is centric in Afrobeats style of music.
This song is from the curated separate Lion King soundtrack she did. It's called The Lion King:The Gift. It's a call back to African roots. The album came out last year when the remake movie came out, in which Beyonce voiced Nala.
This soundtrack has been made into a visual album and just like the soundtrack, it uses voice snippets from the movie to move the soundtrack along. The movie is like an artpiece of creativity.
She went to different countries in Africa, her own back yard for some video shots, Belgium, and other parts of the world. But mostly this was shot in Africa.
This is her latest project, if you are wondering when this appeared. Just a month ago. It was recorded last year after she lost some of her baby weight from her twins.
Was I the only one who spotted Sportos reaction when he sees beyonce full body painted shots or full body shots jajajajaja his face says it all
if you wanna see beyonce's dancing, watch her performance at coachella, was perfect, and she danced a lot
Fun fact:Beyonce broke her heel while dancing and they kept it in the vid seeing as she did it in one take
“Shot a whale” lmao it’s actually “Sha-tah Wa-leigh”
So when is Sporto gonna admit that he has a crush on Bey now? 😏🤭😂We see how excited he get everytime Bey shows up
I would like to mention that Beyoncé is a digital pop icon and all around phenomena - she releases visual projects which accompany her album releases
Same as lemonade - it is more involved than just one song.
BEYONCE IS A DANCER! HER BREAKDOWNS ARE CRAZY
You guys need to react to Beyonce' homecoming performance.
Wait!!! Who ever said Beyoncé CANT DANCE??? 🤣🤣
The BLASPHEMY 😂😂😂😂
The choreography wasn't sped up. Lol That's really them dancing like that. Lol You guys gotta check Black Is King on Disney+. It's a beautiful amazing film. The visuals are gorgeous. It shows the beaty of many different African cultures and basically showing our pride of being descendents of Africa.
why you trying to fool him lol there were sped up parts and normal speed parts
The speed ups are there 😅
It was stop action.
Girl😂
CRAZY IN LOVE LIVE ON THE RUN TOUR OR RUN THE WORLD ON THE RUN TOUR.. she dance and sing like a goddess on those performances
Bey broke her heel in this video ! You can see it (break?)
in some scenes lol
Love practical affects too Sporto!
You guys are awesome. You can make me laugh even when you say something that is not meant as a joke. And I love the fact that you guys always speak enthusiastically. At times so enthusiastically that you make grammar mistakes and say silly things like 'recommendated' (in a different reaction video). And I really respect that you respect 'talent' considering the kind of music you're used to listening. So have you guys made up your mind about joining the beyhive?
I joined! I joined the Facebook group
Woooow they never know about Beyonce as a dancer one of the greatest performers ever in history check out her everybody mad for live choreography video go to single ladies I mean wtf 😂
i very much enjoyed this reaction 😂
Formation is a must react. Like epic Beyoncé moment
He said shotta wale like a fuccin wale 🤣🤣🤣🤣 hilarious
Watch “My Power” it is also part of the movie black is king and u can also see her dance in that video also
And I think you should learn more informations and references about this song and and the whole album to understand the meaning behind it
You guys should watch “water” from the black is king visual one of my favorite videos. It’s so visually pleasing 💯
I need yall to do all of Homecoming. Give me a 3 hr reaction video!
And then Do all of Black is King
And then all of Lemonade
Roflmao when you mentioned Shabba. In living color did the parody called Mr. Ugly man. The two of you cracked me up... that shabba was so random I fell out
