great review dude. Can we actually directly plug these into a laptop 3.5mm port and listen without a dac?
Thank you! Really appreciate it.
Sorry for the late reply, i was away for a while.
And to answer your question, yes you can! I listen to them on my laptop and on my phone regularly directly via the 3.5mm jack. But yes, using a dac even a cheap one (unlike my fiio btr5) will improve the sound a lot. Planar iems do require a bit more power to get to their full potential.
Pro Tip :- If you are using an iem just for laptop, then get a moondrop quarks as they have great mics for such a budget iem and they work great with the laptops headphone-mic combo jack.
I didnt do a review on these as there many review already available for these.
@@hokagoteatimereviews thanks for the update. i skipped the iems instead i will buy an over the ear headphone
That's great. Which headphones will you be buying ?
I personally lean towards iem because I sweat quite a lot even when the weather is quite chilly.
Thanks for the review : ) Do you think there is quite a lot of difference compared to a Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro (which I use in a Samsung cellphone with their scalable codec and my files are in flac)? I love my buds but it seems they aren't good for the health of my ears :-/ I have checked the graphs, and although it doesn't tell the whole picture I feel this iem has the tuning I tend to like in my iem's as I lean slightly to the bass side than to the treble.
Hello, thanks for the comment. Yes in terms of sound they are much better than Buds pro and buds pro 2 and airpods pro 2. Although i would suggest using a small dac for these (the moondrop dawn pro which is on sale for $36 as of now is a great pairing for it) because planar iems need a bit of more power to run.
And talking in term of safety there have been some studies done where in BT earbuds does cause harm over a long period of time. But that doesnt mean you should wear a wired iem for long periods of time playing them at moderate volume and taking a small break after an hour should be a habit to protect your hearing.
sorry for the super long comment, just went on a small rant about hearing safety 😅
I also wear an earplug when in noisy environment, i didnt think of making a video on it. Maybe i should do it.
@@hokagoteatimereviews thanks for your time and kindness to share your thoughts., it helps me a lot I care now much more my ear health d-_-b 🙌
Hey !!
Nice reviews... It was well detailed and gave lots of music reference which made it relatable!!
Can u compare timeless ae with aful performer 5 ??
Hey thanks for the kind words 🙂. Appreciate it!
i would love to try the aful performer 5 but sadly its too expensive for me to buy and review (specially during these trying times) and cant receive any review unit since i am a new and very very small channel 😅
But i did ask about the aful performer 5 to the owner of audiostore and he personally didnt like it that much and felt it was overhyped😅(Not sponsored by them, just mentioning what he told me)
Hope i have helped. If you have anymore questions about these i will try my best to help.
Hi, does anyone know, how is it compared to planar headphones like sundara , is it anyway near to it ?
Technically you shouldn't compare an iem to headphone. Main reason being the size of the drivers and headphones being over ears, you will be hard pressed to find that sound in an iem. 😅 generally headphones will have a bigger and wider soundstage than an iem.
But maybe someone who has auditioned both can reply to you.
@@hokagoteatimereviews Thanks for the reply, got your point...👍
I already own Moondrop KATO, but it's not as per my taste, it's like a Sennheiser HD 650...🙂
So i am technically looking for some things similar to ( nearly) Sundara..
looking for suggestions on 7hz timeless and it's ae version before next buy!
Thanks
The Kato is a very sterile sounding iem. I had a bit of hands on time with it. I personally found the sound to be a bit sterile, the timeless ae can have great bass with the stock tips almost too much for me but it is something you might like if you want bass. And since the iem is planar the bass is so good and crisp, superb attack and delay. As I said for some bass heavy song these are awesome!
Also these have headphone like soundstage, which I am a big fan of.
