Wow, that cable looks really good. The change from MMCX to 2pin is really appreciated, considering how hard it was to remove the MMCX cable in the original Timeless. Nice colour too! The graph also looks promising... Sometimes the subtlest changes make the biggest difference, hopefully it will be true here as well, since the OG Timeless is really well-tuned for me.
Could you also compare it with the tangzu wu zetian and the raptgo hook x? I am confused between two. I want a warm sounding iem without sacrificing too much on details imaging and soundstage at under 200-300
Just ordered them 4 days ago, waiting them to arrive from China here in EU, thank for the unbonxing, i was wondering what's inside the box Take care mate!
Never underestimate that 3dB bass boost. Letshuoer Z12, for example, has a 2dB bass boost and this changes the way the upper-mids are perceived. This usually leads to silkier, more organic tone and timbre, which you can't achieve simply by EQing or PEQing alone.
The Tangzu Zetian Wu is on sale at Linsoul. $100 cheaper than the 7hz Timeless. The new Timeless looks pretty good though, but the price is higher from the original, probably because of the cable.
I shyed away from timeless due to color I thought it was ugly and plain, and the mmcx and color of the cable configuration. But the fact that they changed the color, added a 2 pin cable, added bass, AND added an anime gift. Sign me upppp
It looks like holding off from buying the OG Timeless was the right move 🤣 this is seriously enticing 😱 2pin, supremely robust cable with Swappable termination, and a 3dB Sub-bass boost? COUNT ME IN 💵
I just ordered a pair of AEs yesterday and looking forward to it. Of all IEMs I own, I like 7Hz Timeless the most. Even better than the more expensive models in my collection. The only small issue I had with OG Timeless is the drop-off at sub-base part and I hope that AE version will fix that for me. Thank you for this detailed video.
@@mokisan Almost identical to regular Timeless, with slightly stronger bass, more leaning towards sub-bass. Still well balanced and detailed. Both Timeless benefit from headphone amp. Seems they need more power than most other IEMs I tried. Maybe because of planar magnetic driver. Not sure.
@@mokisan Original Timeless were already great for me. AE are a straightforward improvement without sacrificing anything that made Timeless good, so it was a clear choice for me. I also appreciate the switch to 2-pin 0.78mm connectors and higher quality cable. There are probably IEMs I'd like better out there, but with AE I no longer feel like I need an upgrade, unless it's AE+ or something. :D
The anime waifu looks like the same one included with the Bravery AE edition (SeeAudio's mascot Rinko?)... But I guess it's probably AngelEars's excess stock, so a minor issue. The cable and the case are looking much better than the original though! I hope there will be more comparisons between the OG and AE version in the full review.
Is the upgrade from normal Timeless worth the extra cost? Budget isn't a big concern but I wouldn't want to unnecessarily waste money if its only a small noticeable difference. Considering buying either normal Timeless or this on 11.11, I've demo'd the Timeless and liked how fast the bass was.
If you are not looking for more sub-basswhich to my ears reduce the harshness in its treble or MMCX connector is a non-issue for you, the regular 7Hz Timeless is still a great buy and definitely going to be cheaper. Not sure about the infamous QC issues in the newer batches though. AE is worth buying if you haven't owned one or looking for lusher low-end and tamer treble. Or 2-pin connectors. The included stock cable is also better, IMO. I don't think the upgrades are gimmicky and the price increase is relatively reasonable, but I can see why some people might think it's not worth it especially if you have already owned the OG ver.
Hmmm ... They should have kept the price the same ... 60-70 USD price increase (and perhaps more later on), if you already have a good copy of the the Gen2 7hz Timeless hard to justify for a retune and a new color scheme. Getting into Moondrop / Dunu territory
@@mokisan The soundquality is amazing, the tuning is the biggest tradeoff for me. They have really much bass for my taste and they have not the greatest details on the upper end. I like a more ''neutral'' sound (I have a Aria Snow and Focal Celestee for example). It depends on your preference. I would say the bass is mainstream, It's not to much for 90% of the people out there (they wanted more bass on the OG Timeless, so they should be very happy). They add body to bad recorded songs and they're pretty engaging and fun to listen, but they're not for critical listening imo. Again, the quality of the sound is amazing, it's just not my favorite tuning. It really depends on your music taste and preference.
@@LaVey1999 sounds like you will like some thing like the yume 2. Its on sale for €150 down from €200. I do like the tuning of timeless ae. The bass seems neutral to me. Btw what kind of songs do you listen too?
@@mokisan I hear mostly metal and rock with them. I hear almost everything else too. I miss the little details on top or they're not as pronounced as on my other headphones/iem's. When I use them against my Endgame Focal Celestee (I Know Headphones and not Iem's) the Timeless AE are not bad at all, the biggest difference is more bass and less details. For on-the-go I like the AE's. The price is good for what you get. It's just (against the Aria Snow): overall sound quality = Timeless AE sound signature = Aria Snow
There are background reasons why 7HZ cannot re-tune the Salnotes Zero for now. But if you want to add 2-3dB bass shelf, it can be done very easily. My own set has a been retuned (by myself) with an increased bass shelf.
@@ianfann Not much off a difference between the OG and the latest..just get Final Audio E Tips ( that boost bass a touch) ..and you’ve got it . Tho the originals have MMCX connections 🤮
lol $260 price tag and they can't afford to give you more then 1 pair or replacement filters when those exact ones cost few $ for 50 Pairs for end customers meaning for a company they probably buy 1000 pairs for $1 or $2 how generous of them
Comes with two replacement filters and a $70 modular swappable cable, that's where most of the added cost is. How often do you really go through filters?
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ AND SHARE! I also bought the AE after having the original. The IEM’s themselves sound good. BUT what a hard, stiff, cheap and uncomfortable cable! Made a complaint at HifiGo where I bought them. What a lousy customer service!!! They only answer you in a friendly way, but service? What service? I was the only one who complained about the cables, so no exchange cable. My advice to everyone; don’t buy at HifiGo! You will be not taken serious. I’m now using different cables, which hasn’t got the same color theme as the IEM’s. They are at least comfortable and not so rigid as cable ties! THANK YOU HIFIGO TO SELLING ME A INFERIOR PRODUCT AND DO NOTHING ABOUT IT!
@@mokisan Sound wise, absolutely top notch. Very fun, but also detailed audiophile sound. So for easy, critical listeners as for who wants to blast their ear drums useable. But the cable is stiff, very nice with those interchangeable terminals and looks very nice, but still stiff.
I must say, that's a brilliant retuning. The added low frequency must give a really nice balance.

Look up Dunu SS tips. The white ones that ship with the Timeless AE are basically a copy of SS tips.

I wonder when such a planar IEM hits the market..

It very obvious with a changeable cable. And the fit see be kinda smaller than OG.
