American bison scratching itself against a wooden post - part 1

Sometimes a telephoto lens isn't the best lens for the occasion. In a pull-out parking area along the road in Yellowstone National Park in July 2024, we saw this bison scratching a hard-to-reach itch, using a wooden post. Unfortunately, it was so close to our car that at 150mm of focal length (the minimum my lens supports), I could only capture this very zoomed-in video. Didn't turn out too bad, all things considered.
I love encountering moments like these - wildlife making use of human structures in a way very different than their intended purpose. These moments illustrate how all life forms are trying to survive in their own way, using whatever resources are available to them.
