Dark Cloud OST Wise Owl Forest In Game Version

- I couldn't find anywhere this song with no background SFX, so I extracted it from the game and extended it.
Also unlike the other BGM's, this one has the background noises in the bgm itself, so I had to edit the BGM file to remove the background noises.

The music is really the best part of this game by a long shot. Not to say the game is bad but the person who wrote all these songs doesnt get paid enough.
Composers, or heck even artists never get paid enough, especially in Japan.
Should be paid an owl's weight in gold.

Never heard of this game but that's some nice music.
If you still have a working PS2, pick up a copy. It's one of the few games from that era that can still hold its own nowadays.
I know this is a bit late, but I will say that while the first game is decent, the second improves on it in almost every way

So much nostalgia hunting for those damn nuts and berries for the owl while this beautiful song loops again and again. Also always thought it was weird those little demonic elf things were named after the days of the week? Maybe some weird translation or folklore thing I don't understand
I think it was done on purpose. Each had a different item/weapon, and if my memory is correct, you could correlate those to the day of the week they were named after.
This is one of my favorite tracks from any video game ever

The like evil elves named off the days of the week are annoying. The most annoying ones were Tuesday and Thursday which are two of my favourite days of the week.
Tuesday and Thursday are so bad due to the poison effect! So many times I've been poisoned by those little bastards!

Listening to this track in 2019... hard to believe it’s from a game released in the year 2000. Wise Owl Forest is definitely the best theme in the best PS2 game(Dark Chronicle wasn’t a sequel, no matter where you put the “2” in its title “Dark Cloud 2”.

It was always the moles I dreaded most myself.
@DWFTW I personally didn't get that far cuz my ps2 got stolen so unfortunately I never got past Queens midway through the shipwreck
@@LadyEspia I meant the moles in the Wise Owl Forest, sitting as wee holes in the ground and leaping out at you knocking you down. Could cheese them a bit with the slingshot though. Might've just forgotten about them or had no issues with them yourself.
Definitely a shame that. I actually stopped mid-Shipwreck myself (because I got stuck not realing how the elemental locks worked) until I went back to it (well restarted it) about 5 years ago and beat it.
Still holds up well honestly, if a bit clumsy combat. If you'd want to get it on PS4 or Emulator would recommend it to be honest.
