Hey this is in English - I took a chance on this after stumbling upon it searching for more info on a print on paper of a crown princess in pastels signed Picasso. Portrait of Sylvette David in a green chair - number 28 of the series of 40.
It turns out I have an artists proof, test print signed in ink, of the lino-blocks used for a series of 4000 pencil signed numbered prints made by his printers.
I have just looked thru books of hundreds of works by this great artist and must say this simple print in blues and green is the most beautiful and appealing of all his later woks.
So nice to meet the woman who inspired this serene beauty of a princess with a pony tail.
Some books say her "husband" was a chair maker who lived across the street form Picasso's studio; she delivered the chairs and he asked her to sit in them. Yet her story makes no mention of this part of the story, if it is true at all.
