Gary has stayed Humble all His Career but he's definitely worthy of the recognition he now receives . his music stands out among many and continues to . Great Interview Martyn .
He's older than Gary Oldman. Seriously though - I'm so pleased to discover these conversations with my teen heroes. Thank you Martyn for bringing these to us.
My favourite book .. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë.. because I resonate with the heroines quest to be loved and valued . My favourite film .. Alien ... Because I saw a craft in broad daylight on my way home from school aged 14 Favourite TV show .... Emmerdale ( classic) hey I am from Yorkshire Visual or conceptual Artist .. conceptual express my feelings Moment that changed my life.. being hospitalised at 28 and diagnosed with bi polar . I had to completely re- learn how to be as the way i lived my life suffocated me Favourite synth .. The human voice But you probably won't need to ever ask me this Martyn he he Great interview, I really enjoyed it best wishes❤
Memories. Carlsbro Sounds had a System 100 back in the day that I lusted after. Wonder if that's where Martyn got his from. My first synth was an EDP Wasp from Musical Sounds 🤔 Fantastic interview 🖖
Hi .❤ I had a dream last week that I was on a night out drinking with Gary and he asked me what did I think about his latest music and concerts . I said to him your music is amazing . ❤ Martyn I love those classical music compositions you made with Sheffield University strings , this makes me wonder what you would add to a mezzo singing voice with your electronic musical mind ? Mm how interesting i wonder how you would make such a voice sound mmm
And that is why Gary is not a commercial airline pilot. Instead of spending the time available going through the checklists to restart engines etc as professionals are trained to, he's busy thinking about murdering his fellow colleagues in peril with a penknife. If I ever have the pleasure of meeting Mr.Numan I will make sure I know where the exit is. Hopefully if there is no imminent threat of death, I should be safe, but I might ask to frisk his pockets for sharp objects just to be safe. Loved the chat - I certainly learnt a lot!
So what? He's still doing it and pulling in decent crowds year on year. If record sales are the absolute measure of an artiste, Leona Lewis must get you excited.
What an out of touch comment. He only sold TEN MILLION records in a span of three years....give me a break. Who cares anyway? Plenty of famous artists aren't high record sellers.
I saw Numan in Manchester 2006, he's was trying to sound more darker and it wasn't a bad gig,but very upbeat tempo metal sound, he was seemed to get is wife and daughters involved, remarkable Guy who dealt with alot of personal problems beat the critics in is mission of success @Scratiznutz

Numan League
Great interview.
First song I ever heard was 'Are friends electric?' 1979 from someone's house.
Gary ...was a big Fireball X.L.5....fan.
Giants of Synth...
Check out Martyns eyes at 27:00. They look weird with that reflection on his glasses 😂.
❤❤❤you Gary and Martyn.

( note to self ),.. dont go on a 2 seater plane with Gary Numan,..
😂😂😂😂😂
Brilliant!
Didn't do a lot of research into Numan's career did he? Where did Are Friends Electric get to in the charts??
Alway,s.....thought he should be in a sifi..film.
10M records from 79-82. That is nothing compared to his peers. Numan's a niche artist.
Not niche at all
So what?

I'm a little unsure who you consider Gary Numan's peers are to compare: Michael Jackson, Madonna, Rhianna......Ed Sheeran?????? Sheesh.
