I'm Brazilian and I follow your work. I have had floaters for 4 years now and it just keeps getting worse. It is very sad to live with this condition. You who are behind this project are my hope that maybe one day I can see the world without these stains in front of me. Stay strong and don't give up on finding a safe cure for it. Make history in ophthalmology. Again, you are my hope.

I had floaters for 30 years and finally broke down and had a vitrectomy done in each eye. It was worth it, no problems. Certain doctors don't even see what the fuss is about. The chance of infection my doctor said was one in 10 thousand, and he's never had issues with it. If your floaters are anywhere near as bad as mine were, you should consider doing it. I had tried the yag laser, but I had just too many floaters for that to work at all. It didn't stop the doctor from keeping my 2000 dollars. Anyway, you should consider a vitrectomy.

Hi, I'm 22 years old, have healthy eyes, and floaters for 2 years. I've been to several doctors and they said I'm not a candidate for the laser surgery. I've been feeling depressed lately and I have these clear transparent floaters that have been scary. I just want some type of relief even if it gets small amounts of the floaters away that are closer to my eves.
I’m going try to donate as much as I can each month, I’m looking forward to seeing your next update. Hopefully, in the next 2 years, this will be out to the public. I just want my life so I can feel like Im living again.
I’m happy to know I’m not alone in this suffering and there is a community that feels the same as I feel as a young adult. (35 and below)

My vision is fine. Just have floaters and flashes. Been checked many times by retinal specialist. I am involved in many anxiety and mind/body groups and a high percentage of them have these eye conditions. There’s not always a physical cause to everything and that’s why the medical community needs to study a mind/body emotional cause.

I have what I feel are severe curtain type floaters in both eyes. Occurred left eye 11 yrs ago and rt eye 7 yrs ago. I have a few black dot floaters as well which don't cause problems. Curtain floaters are like looking thru moving fog. Hard to read and drive, etc. Extremely troublesome. I have had cataracts corrected without good results due to prior Lasik. I don't think curtain floaters affect my contract sensitivity, you just can not see clearly through them. Would love to come to CA.for an evaluation.

I am not myopic, and I suffer terribly from it; each year it gets worse. The computer has played its part because it dries out the eye and, therefore, the gel that separates the eyeball from the retina, increasing the Eye Floaters. So the point is first to understand how to prevent the eye from drying out; the second point is to understand how to prevent the gel from accumulating protein clots, which are what we call Eye Floaters. Essentially, what needs to be studied is not the front part of the eye but the back part. I am a director, not a scientist, but this is what I believe I have understood from studying the situation a bit. Myodesopsia is the consequence of the gel drying out; it’s like the salt that forms when the sea dries up in the hollow of a rock. I now have such a dense web in front of my eyes that sooner or later I will have to undergo surgery, although I am trying to postpone it as much as possible. I recommend everyone to use glasses that block blue light; remove blue light from the computer. This can help, even though it doesn't solve the problem.

I totally feel you my guy, I have also developed hundreds of them one and a half year ago, it's an understatement that they make me miserable. Takes extra effort every single day to perform at work, compared prior to floaters. Over time it really puts a toll on mental and body health eventually as well.
Here's hoping we see (pun intended) a safe treatment or cure to clean our vitreous bodies, just like once they used to be.

I would think that gathering results of laser treatment for floaters would be a simple task. The doctor can simply look into the eye before and after to see if the laser disintegrated the floater!!! My concern would be to determine if laser is a safe option as I have been warned by my physician at Bascom Palmer that the laser causes vibration of the vitreous humor, causing retinal tears. Please comment. Thank you.
