As an ancient 73-year-old, this fits into my aural psyche alongside the likes of Philip Glass, Terry Riley, Robert Fripp, and a few others. And, I DIG IT big time. For such a young band, it's mindblowing to imagine where they'll grow next. Very exciting stuff. Very advanced. Sophisticated.
Neat, their guitarist took off the tone and volume control knobs in addition to the fret stuff. I'd love to see a diagram of his fret positioning to get myself a better handle on just intonation.
What genre is this? I can't find a melody but rather everything is kind of going at once. There's not one break, just constant walls of sound. Not unpleasant... Just a bit jarring. I will say this style is quite hypnotizing in its own way. Not something I'd leave on in the background but it is interesting to analyze and watch. Their timing is very good.
@@zorbanongreco it sounds like shit. i could train my lungs to have that kind of capacity, and i still wouldn't choose to play this racket. it is a creative decision, which you are too dumb to understand. i recognize the skill, but the music sucks. they're so busy showing off that the music suffers - and they probably couldn't actually write a melody because they seem more like technicians than musicians
I play music for a living for some 35 years without earplugs but control the volume. I don"t like to force it and like to have the volume in control without earplugs. With earplugs you just miss so many details and I just want to hear how beautiful my ride cymbal sounds. I believe it's a generation difference. Young musicians think it's completely normal to use earplugs all the time and the older generation ( 50 plus, like me) have always been making music without earplugs.
i think this band, being a rock band, is fairly loud. also people are constantly giving people my age crap about headphones and hearing loss, so generally, people tend towards earplugs

What is the deal with the guy's guitar? Are there frets removed or added? Or both?
Both. It's some microtonal tuning system.
Just intonation
Not just the guitar. Bass is just intonation too

jazzier Don Cab
do they play this in guantanamo bay?
guy's breath control is insane! as for the content - just because you can doesn't mean you should
they can and they should imo
if you can't then you shouldn't. These chaps can.

cool band , but why the earplugs ?? Is it too loud ??
if you play music for a living it's a good idea to not wreck your ears? not sure what's complicated about that

Saxophones are loud as shit, and that's not even getting into two saxophones
probably wearing earplugs because they look trendy
It's like math rock but cool
Somehow I knew they'd sound and look like this. How is this a great video.? Four geeks noodling
Noodling is directionless dicking off. This is far from that.
geeky noodling is good for you.
as nerdy as fak
Shit Lords is more like it.
