As someone who grew up on the plastic original gen...the only thing i really miss is the bit beasts. They were so cool and unique and gave some character that i really just miss. I preferred the Burst bits compared to the others. X is pretty cool though. But i just miss the more...anime monster designs on the beyblade.

Tkinda recaptured that essence with the new gear chips though which I'm so happy about since all we got were "Letters" with the Burst Beys lmao also having the art more zoomed in looks cooler imo especially with the mascot sports style art. The anime bit beasts were dope but since they had the whole beast on there it ended up having a lot of blank space as the background. But I will say the new gear chip beasts look nowhere as cool as the originals. When they showed up in the anime through the hologram system I was so disappointed 😂
@Blackotakunerd They have some form just not in the same or similar designs. Don't get me wrong they are cool but...the first series had some customization elements with the bit beasts. Like purchasing dragoon and putting him together but instead of putting his sticker on the original white bitchip. Put him on the green and have a green Draciel defense top with a Dragoon bit beast. It was just different then now.
Although I am nostalgic for the first series, since I discovered X there is NOTHING that pushes me to go back. Ease of assembly, simple and effective design, low cost, gameplay as beautiful as you've ever seen. This is truly one of the only times where the new manages to outclass the brand's old great past.

You clearly underestimate the good that mids cause the community, not only they’re cheap but also high quality, they can be sometimes be better then the original
I know it comes down to which one you're nostalgic towards more than anything, but for me the more mechanical looking beys from the plastic gen will always be my favourite. The later generation beys are nice but they feel very complex in their designs, where the plastic gens are simple but very unique and recognisable from each other. I really like that X brought back a creature design in the center. I always loved the concept of bit beasts from plastic gen and it made the bey more interesting to look at, and the same goes for the X blade
The plastic covering is just the cherry on top. Sad they removed it with the UX beys though. Picking a fave is kinda hard right now cause they were all so different. Plastic was very gunpla like with the assembling. Burst had fun gimmicks. And X has metal and way more diverse fights. Because of X I'd say MFB was lowest tier now xD

I actually really like the idea of building your own bey like the plastic gen! It makes the bey feel more personal to you and like you built it. I hope it returns in a future generation.
The original Plastic Generation was one of the first three anime we got here and it definitely resulted in a beyblade craze, so hearing you say you were 2 years old fucks me up a little bit, since I was about 6 years old in 2002 when we got it, just, ugh, aging sucks. As for these unboxings, I do like the model kit aspect of the plastic generation, heck I'm thinking of getting a Griffolyon, partially because gryphon themed bey and partially because of the bit beast model that folds up as an attachment for the bey. Would be funny to see Takara Tomy try and bring that back, it's not like they don't have model kits, Zoids is right there! But for now I will be satisfied with the haul I got and am shipping now, anxiously checking the shipping label HLJ gave me: Lion Claw, Phoenix Wing, Unicorn Sting, Weiss Tiger, plus arena and extra launchers. I only realised later I grabbed the three beys that correspond to the three Unicorn Gundam variations: Unicorn is a Unicorn, Banshee is a Lion, Phoinix is a Phoenix, and now I have a Deck Theme to go for.

from Plastic Gen to X Beyblade has come a long way Beyblade will most likely continue on with more Generations just like Yugioh and Pokémon Beyblade will 100% always be around even if it takes like breaks it always comes back a year later.
count the sides also heavies are smaller than wides and balances wides are the largest and balances are a middle ground of the two another thing I have to add is wides are more hollow balances have a little divot in the center and heavies have either two little cuts or are completely filled in
It’s so funny because I just ordered my first few Beyblade from this new X gen. The last time I got a new Beyblade was probably like 22 years ago back in the Og plastic gen. It’s so wild seeing all the in between generations. Like the metal one and the burst one I didn’t realize people still were in the Beyblade let alone that they were still being made until a few weeks ago when I saw the video about playing every Beyblade game.
I grew up on original Gen/Plastic gen. And being a Gundam fan it was perfect for me. Clip em, build em, had cool bit beast designs, and cool gimmicks. Started looking to get back into Beyblade at Burst. Love the designs but hated the plastickyness of them with no metal weight ring. So I waited, and boy am I glad I did. I love the X line! The weight feels good, the shape of the Blades are unique to each "animal", and they are easy to assemble while making the Burst mechanic even more exciting thanks to the Xtreme rail. This is my favorite Bey line so far even if the artwork is pretty cheesy on many of them.

I recently just opened one of the Hasbro Collaboration Beyblades the one with Iron Man and Thanos but i gotta say it is kinda weird that they had them in my stores i thought those Beyblades wwre Amazon online only but i guess they had those. If i had to guess they probably had them online for a while then they put them in stores and most of the people that got them have them or don't have all of them. Each Beyblade generation does have some cool boxes and the Hasbro ones are no exception for X. What i do hope in the future whenever we get these collaborations we get more of them Takara Tomy is already had 1 collab of Beyblade X and 1 for burst. (we originally was SUPPOSED to get a Frieren Beyblade Collaboration but i guess they had better plans than that) So far i like the Beyblades that i got and im going to continue to become an Beyblade Fan
This is just my own opinion but in the Beyblade X generation I prefer the beys more than the series. 😅 For me the series sucks because of how the MC is an OP dude and never lost. I also dont like the constant L bird gets. Im actually really getting tired seeing the amount of L Bird keeps on getting and no Ws. I prefer the older series because there was like a balance for each winning and losing while also growing to be stronger.

@@nuc yup. You've got wide (widest), balance (second widest) and heavy (smallest but more filled out for weight). There's also a few exceptions with other unique pieces like the one with 6 circle holes (no idea on the name) and the magnet weight disk series. Plastic gen was then best, so much more you could do, so much customisations... I'd really recommend looking at all the most unique beys back then. Flame pegasus, most fun gimic by far
One thing i didn't like was that they changed so much for each season so it wasn't interchangeable that's the best part of beyblade was the wide variety of combinations but they sanded it all down with each season

btw, each corner/edge of a weight disk is what dictates the name along side the size. if you look at 8 wide, it has 8 corners and is in fact, wide.
