A lot of people don’t remember this likely because they were too young, but after Bakuten officially ended there were rumors left and right about new Beyblade series. There was the canceled series which was supposed to be some kind of Beyblade concept with an insect theme, in addition to the Bomberman-inspired action toys that spun like Beyblades and used rip cords as weapons. Lastly, there was a user on a popular Beyblade forum that predicted the MFB series years before it was ever released, and even predicted the new naming schemes for Beys saying “They will be named similar to car models,” referring to the names like Pegasus 145WD using numbers and letters to codify them. I remember he predicted this about 4-5 years before MFB was a thing. This was a complete switch up from the way Beyblades were named in Bakuten. Maybe TakaraTomy employers were lurking those forums..
Before Beyblade, the creator of Beyblade (NOT Takao Aoki!) had a line of battling tops based on Bomberman called SugeGoma/CoolTops. But then he created the concept of customizing parts with the battling tops and that’s how Beyblade came to be. After Beyblade ended, the SugeGoma-like top figures were re-released as a new toy continuing the Beyblade legacy. But it was very very short lived.
I just remembered an insane detail from the person who posted about the rumored new Beyblade after G-Rev on those forums long ago: he said the new Beyblade would be called “BEYBLADE X”
I forgot what the name of the forum was but this was way before WBO. It had a banner of Tala/Yuriy from the manga scene when he had Ray at gun point. Just thinking about those times when I was still in middle school, I had few worries..
Shogun Steel was SEVERELY underrated! I would have loved to obtain Berserker Byakko, Guardian Garuda, and Phantom Fenrir if they were put into production.
We’re never “too cool” for anything. We are human and we like what we like and the “your to old for X” is what will cause you paying x4 for something in the future.
Yep. Insect battling, like Beigoma which Beyblade is based off, is a classic game kids play in Japan in the summer. This game was the original inspiration for the Pokémon franchise. Beyblade was going to cash in on the insect concept by combining two traditional games (Beigoma + Insect collecting) but it was a tough time to make Beyblade spin offs; they couldn’t make it as easily as they did BeyWheelz and Warriors.
I remember being so confused as a kid on how Shogun Steel just stopped, little did I know that they just stopped the show to get ready for Beyblade Legends and they were preparing for a new gen of beyblade
Honorable mention: Pegasis 105F's prototype. That version was used in most teasers from back when MFB was recently revealed. Bug fighting is also similar to how Pokemon was created. The creator was inspired by his childhood in Japan catching bugs and having them fight and stuff. So maybe Beyblade Insect was based off of that? It was growing popular around the same time as Beyblade. Although I don’t think a bug themed line really suits the type of vibe or game that blading is.
True. Pokémon turned the concept of bug fighting into monster fighting. The idea of use a beetle BEYBLADE just doesn’t seem as appealing. HMS was def a cooler direction
@@nuc Oh for sure! I think the only acceptable bug themed Beyblade would have to be like a giant wasp or something more intimidating. Maybe a scorpion? I wish those Zero G beys got released! Byakko was so hype. Oh, and Don’t forget! In the manga, strike hawk and stone mont blank were actual beys. Instead of just wizard arrow and knight shield recolors. They had actual combos too
While not cancelled, one thing that was never brought over to the west was Sol Blaze V145 AS. I think the reason for that was because of it's ties to the "Metal Fight Beyblade Vs. The Sun: Sol Blaze The Scorching Hot Invader" movie, which was never officially localized.
I don't necessarily hate it, but just my opinion that Zero G was the worst and weakest season of Beyblade Both in terms of products and the Anime The Anime storyline and plot was kinda... frustrating
I think one interesting story to mention is that of PHW Cancer. The only horoscope bey to not receive a Metal System counterpart, Cancer is an absolute oddity amongst Beyblade's history. It's only theory, but I and a few others have speculated that after a prototype of Quetzalcoatl's metal wheel surfaced online, and the face bolt icon for Cancer being found in the first MFB DS game's files... Quetzalcoatl 90WF is Quetzalcoatl, but with Cancer's metal wheel. Similar enough in design that when they had problems with Quetzalcoatl in testing, they could just swap them out. It's very obvious too, judging by the crab claw shape of the contact points and the crab legs between each of them. Sorry Quetzalcoatl stole your outfit, Cancer.
Nice video. I have the video from Bench Blade channel in my cellphone, and I see it almost everyday. I also have a lot of story with the Beyblade series: I was a kid when the Bakuten saga was airing in my country, then I started as a blader during the Metal saga, and I saw how the Burst saga debuted. Now I'm watching how the X saga is about to get a second season, and still no victory for Bird Kazami.
May fit into the canceled beys. But Cyber Dranzer, Cyber Driger, Cyber Dracil. Only Cyber bey that was released was Cyber Dragoon. And I can’t remember if the monster beys was released from team dark from plastic generation. I know there was Dracula, mummy, werewolf, Frankenstein.
Fun fact: Beyblade Cyborg DID release in the US but was known as BeyRaiderz, there was also BeyWarriorz which didnt even get an anime 😂 Will say tho i LOVED beywheelz cause they were fun to use. And Zero G was my generation i grew up from which is why i love Beyblade X so much, like a revamp of those guys

I don't know if this is relevant for you but there's a sort of a spin-off called "Beyblade Evolution Crossarms". Released in December of 2004 until 2005 by Takara. I only discovered it this month. I think it's rare for the fact that Beyblade was pretty much dead in the water. They're a bit similar to the Hasbro's Beywarriors Shogun Steel toys. I think there's a commercial here on YT too.
Honestly I can see how a full on Insect theme series of Beys would not do good internationally. But I could see maybe individual Insect Beys in a season doing well if they are good. I mean look at popular Bugs in Pokémon.
Quadstrike was just such a weird oddity for burst. It never even used the designs for the japanese bu products. They instead decided to use the watered down hasbro designs. And the whole elemental power plot just made no sense, as well as pax's motivations for becoming a villain just not fitting in with anything. And in the end of the season (spoilers btw if you care), we never got to see bel have his long awaited battle with valt, which I think could've ended up being pretty good. That's just my opinion on it though
What about the bird thingy that we saw at the start of x? (I think it had a fist or something but its not strike hawk chip Design it was something other) Did it got cancelled too? Or they just forgot about it?
Zero g/ shogun steel was my favorite. I loved both hasbro and takara tomy the branding and look of the packaging just stole my heart and the show was something special to me.

I think it's rare for the fact that Beyblade was pretty much dead in the water. They're a bit similar to the Hasbro's Beywarriors Shogun Steel toys. I think there's a commercial here on YT too.
Hmmm… I don’t think I’ve heard of that! I’ll have to check that out.
(I think it had a fist or something but its not strike hawk chip Design it was something other)
Did it got cancelled too? Or they just forgot about it?
It never was gonna get released at all I think. Never really heard any plans or anything.
Any Plastic Gen fan ? ❤

Shogun Steel was peak beyblade
I really liked the idea of a swaying stadium.
Zero g/ shogun steel was my favorite. I loved both hasbro and takara tomy the branding and look of the packaging just stole my heart and the show was something special to me.
And I wish child me was more desperate to get beys and not wait till now when there really hard to get.
I still seriously miss the burst series, it was a good run in my opinion
I was active during the plastic gen and metal fight generation. I'm glad to be back in the X generation. ❤
I ended up getting phantom Fenir, berserk Byakko and guardian garudas yet are all made of Stainless steel-
@@Skyestriker17 Nice pickups!
@@nuc sadly Phantom and Beserker broke, now I'm doing a villan combo I saw in a dream
But there is a L-drago guardian hasbro release
Yes but it didn’t get a full hyperblades style release. So we never got the true bey.
@@nuc true. I thought they hasbro release had s130MB... my bad
3:06 I've done my researches, from what I've seen, it was announced after HMS, but some months before MFB got announced, and ended up getting cancelled
Man i wish we get beetle themed beys some day ngl
i just want to say the beyblade car things did have somewhat of a release. they were called bey raiders i believe. i got some for Christmas one year.
Yes, but those were for the previous season. Beyraiderz. Cyborg was afterwards and a separate story but products never came out.
I remember finding a bey warriors cyborg... Bey, at a Citi trends. Mind you I live in Florida☠️
Plastic Gen blader here lol
got back in in Metal Fight then did a brief return in the middle of the burst generation now I'm looking into X
Just thought I'd put this out there, but we did have an English version of beywarriors, but I've never heard of cyborg though?
I love video like this, make more😂
Zero g system feels like low n high mode for db burst
3:47
JoJo reference
Tbh i thought this video was him showing 3d beys of the unreleased ones😂
I think mini insect beyblades would be cool. I’d love bumble blade to fight horn beetle.
Im still angry that berserker byakko wasn’t released
I had around 100s of HMS beys which I recently sold 😂
Bruhhhhh… I would have bought some probably 🤣
@@nuc lol
Do you remember me though? I'm a
Ashton from the wbo
Ignore my youtube videos, youtube banned my old channel so I'm uploading the old crap stuff that was very dear to me back in the days lol.
If someone can get the blueprints for beyblade insect beys, get them to BenchBlade to make them for us.
Someone I think made their own recreations. You can find the files online. Idk how accurate they are tho
@@nuc awesome. Also I wish BenchBlade could make X-beys of the fist of all the blade breakers and work his way up. Spin Dragoon, Max's unnamed Bey in the manga, Ultimate Frostic Dranzer. Things like that
Honestly zeroG deserve more respect like dynamite bey is literally zeroG 2.0
Is the anime good? I just finished metal fury
@@l-4694 i havent watch any of the mfb tryology but for a beyblade anime it's fine not bad not amazing it's just good
@@l-4694I'd say it's incredibly mediocre
Even below average some would say
@@M.Aggron_23 dang, pretty harsh opinion. Guess I'll watch the first 3 episodes and get back to you on how I found it. Not very often that other people's opinions ever applied to me
@@l-4694 That's great 👍🏻
And you're actually right, but it's just that Zero G feels so weak when compared to previous 3 seasons of MFB
It's kinda hard to like it ( for me atleast) but doesn't mean it's unwatchable or something,
So if You actually like it, it's totally cool 👍🏻
Nice Video!
Good recovery after Skibirdi toilet!
Had to pull out the big guns to recover 😅
@@nuc My first bey was a shogun steel bey so this was nostalgic and also made me ask myself why I ever bought any more beyblades since shogun steel was so bad!
I loved metal fight and shogun steel. I felt like shogun had the right about of layers and the coolest designs
Damn bro opens up with knowledge of plastic gen being lost to time…👴🏽😂
Havent had bayblades in my country since burst really hoping x is successful enough for hasbro to try another market
Cool research.
The Big Bad Beetle Beys would have been awesome!!
Cyborg did release and air in the U.S. as beyraiders with the toy line
@@grimmsoul1343 no. It didn’t. Beywarriors beyraiders is the 2nd season of the 3 spinoffs. Cyborg is the 3rd. There is no cyborg toyline.
Never knew these beys existed 😮
Ilinuc I saw your* comment about throwing in an encyclopedia on the kingdom hearts timeline.Lolz.
What do you think the other half?Of 0G would have been like.Yes we do want that video
The US did air Beywarriors: Beyraiderz which beys were related to ZeroG
In brazil i saw a UA-cam comercial for beyblade cyborg toys
