Every song from belakor sounds like it is locked behind some kind of magic fog. Don't know how to describe it. You really cant hear them loud enough. It's sort of compact if that's the word for it. Really hard to describe. Legendary Band!
Fully agree on the magic fog idea! It's like Avalon, they're playing these siren songs from some mystical shore, drawing you away from this mortal coil but toward something greater. Honestly it's a sorcerous guitar tone haha
@@ianw5663 Agreed. Weve tasted but still never fully appreciated what we hear. It is, as if we are trying to ascertain that which belongs to the gods. And they are merely tolerating our futile efforts at the acquisition of what is in their domain.
I totally agree. I feel like I am somewhere else when I listen to them. I am not on this earth u know!? Totally amazing music, and GEORGES voice on top of that.☺️🙂❤️❤️❤️
I saw them at Nalen Stockholm 13 August this year. I was so amazed, I don't remember the complete setlist. But the show was super amazing. And the förband Hiraes, was completely amazing too😉☺️🙂❤️❤️❤️
Descending through thickened mist An old man reached inside and tore out my slumber Ivory twists an open claw Set upon the skulls of man Formative years aside Truth blanched in sun's delusion But providence affirmed Destroyed my aberration Mortal seeds in divine Gave grief into life's form And so curved the spine Obeisance made before him Blessed in life but truly cursed by death Bitter choice befalls you Glory, lord of men, asks but pain Master's stone was weaved Compelled before the throne Then war came, a semblance of her Lands unite and he prospers Grand signs assail me Temptation yields assent As irons carve the sand A ruse brings fate upon him Anguished price for laurels Veins burnt by hatred, In premonitions menis consumed me Unsanctified, I cared nothing for their ways Yet a father's plea dragged mercy from me Now, demi-god, echo in eternity A toxic toll pierces the flaw On reflection, there was never any choice
So many 7 plus minute songs with lots of instrumental only time. Great build up and variations through the songs, all of them. Bands that pull this off are hard to come by.
Belakor songs are so "rich"sounding, one songs has so much to give, different melodies, you feel like its more than just one song, unique, melodic, catchy, excellent, flawless, how perfectly is it put together. I'm a big melo-death fan (kalmah, cob, etos,) and i thought nobody can catch up to that level, but belakor is my new top1 for a while... and also guitar work is on another level.
I'm glad I found this band. Ur great guys. Perfect sound n.. remind me on my other favorite bands amorphis, anathema n Bulgarian dark flight.. just awesome 🤘🤘🥰
I know right? There's something with Be'lakor that stimulates a sense of discipline in proportional composition. Death & Apophis caught a similar wave for a while.
My mate introduced me to you guys, and I'm truly glad he did. I love your stuff! More and more amazing as each song goes along. And the piano!! I can't get over how beautifully it goes with your sort of music!! :D
Be'lakor is by far my favorite metal band of all time (I listen to other types of music mainly), but every 6 months I have a few days or weeks when I rember how good they are and I listen to every of their songs aigain. Incredible stuff ❤
I always play this when im having a hard time finishing my job. Somehow the music arrangement give me this magical vibe that keep moving me foward. Always
guys!!! the whole world impatiently waiting for fresh material. you are great musicians, performers, composers ... all at the highest level of aesthetics. (!!!!!!!)
Been smashing you guys for a few weeks now... love from 5.40 on the most.. Very Dream Theater "Blind faith" with a twist. When ya coming to Perth next?
Hi :) Love this song, one of my favorites of your guys'. I'm very curious - what do these lyrics mean? "Now demi-god, echo in eternity, a toxic toll pierces the flaw, on reflection there was never any choice"
Awesome - I'll have to give it a reread. I recently received my copies of Stones Reach and Of Breath And Bone in the mail along with my beanie. The personalized card is a nice touch. You guys are great. I cannot wait for the new album. It will definitely be pre-ordered. :D
The last line is just great: "...on reflection, there was never any choice..." That is pretty much the conclusion I reach when I look back to the decisions I had made in the past.
+belakorband Is there any way to read more about "behind the lyrics"? Perhaps some of your very POEtic (see what i did there?) lyrics from "Of breath and bone". They really are one of my favorite lyrics I've read!
If someone ever started playing that at 5:40, with a straight face, and wasn't Paul Gilbert or the likes, I probably (and almost did) would have dismissed you faster than Donald Trump. (Not that that would mean anything coming from me, I'm nobody) But then this, honestly masterful couple of measures, show up at 6:04 that starts to shift this "hook"(?) seamlessly into, what I consider, not only one of the nastiest riffs ive ever heard but also one of the most creative and just cool sounding riffs I can remember. Enter 6:12 . This section is just doing so much with so little. The balls and vison of whoever is responsible for writing this are very large and unshaken. I'm in agreement with something I've seen a few people bring up, someone here is well versed in music theory. THIS kind of music doesn't happen the way it did by mistake. Edit: I have to also say, this drumming is ACTUALLY insane.

That's awesome, cheers \m/
I think it's the way they treat the vocals. They aren't pushed to the front of the mix and blend in, more like an additional instrument.
Fully agree on the magic fog idea! It's like Avalon, they're playing these siren songs from some mystical shore, drawing you away from this mortal coil but toward something greater. Honestly it's a sorcerous guitar tone haha
I think that is a great way, to describe it.

Man, the songs of Be'lakor have a magical feeling...
Definitely had my mind blown at least 15 times.

Be'lakor is rapidly headings towards my favorite band list.
Same here. Top-5 for sure. Dark Tranqulity, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Belakor, Megadeth, Death
Ouroboros, Alien Weaponry and In This Moment are recent additions to my favourite list. These guys aren't bad are they!
@@davidstreit6441 nice list
It’s my favourite band!
Digo a mesma coisa .... Banda incrível
"Glory, lord of men, asks but pain
Master's stone was weaved
Compelled before the throne"
This is one of the best songs I have ever heard. Ever.
That ending is absolutely incredible. Blew my mind right out of the water. This band is 10/10
yeah...single notes and a reverb effect blew your mind 😂 what have you listened before? garage bands playing punk?

Holy cow, 12 years ago?!
Feels like yesterday. Still one of my favorite music albums of all time.
Descending through thickened mist
An old man reached inside and tore out my slumber
Ivory twists an open claw
Set upon the skulls of man
Formative years aside
Truth blanched in sun's delusion
But providence affirmed
Destroyed my aberration
Mortal seeds in divine
Gave grief into life's form
And so curved the spine
Obeisance made before him
Blessed in life but truly cursed by death
Bitter choice befalls you
Glory, lord of men, asks but pain
Master's stone was weaved
Compelled before the throne
Then war came, a semblance of her
Lands unite and he prospers
Grand signs assail me
Temptation yields assent
As irons carve the sand
A ruse brings fate upon him
Anguished price for laurels
Veins burnt by hatred,
In premonitions menis consumed me
Unsanctified, I cared nothing for their ways
Yet a father's plea dragged mercy from me
Now, demi-god, echo in eternity
A toxic toll pierces the flaw
On reflection, there was never any choice
kral ya

My favourite band, so glad I found them. I just missed their European tour 😢
7:38 is my ringtone at the moment. Can't wait for the new album guys!

Do you guys have classical music training? All of your songs have pretty pristine form, similar to classical compositions.
I know right? There's something with Be'lakor that stimulates a sense of discipline in proportional composition. Death & Apophis caught a similar wave for a while.
hahaha, today I listened to this album on my bike, and was thinking the same :D
