Silent but distant, Real but not seen Here but not happening, Forever has been Into this absence, Two had but strayed Retracing in circles, They surrendered, dismayed Behind them, darkness Ahead, the unknown So they stood, uninvited ...But the roots had grown An error, a tangent A curious mind An instant, a lifetime A secret to find Imagined movements Near shimmering webs The Nightfall descended To rest by their heads Their feet planted firmly 'Neath four darting eyes With pupils dilated, They counted the sighs The dream and the waking Occurring together Realising, then That it mattered not whether Their legs fading into A curding moss Their lungs slowly filling With decades of loss That scent form the forest Not taking, not giving They knew only this - Not buried, not living Their stagnating veins Now hidden from view In skin for the willow And bone for the dew The dream and the waking Ending together Understanding then It had not mattered, ever
I randomly heard these guys last week. I immediately knew they were something special. Easily some of the best music ever written, but you all know this already I'm late to the party.
The riff sequence at 7:14 is eternally stuck in my head. Thank you for this beautiful masterpiece. The dream and the waking Ending together Understanding then It had not mattered, ever.
A couple of years on, and this remains my favorite Be'lakor track. The way it builds to that unforgettable outtro is first class - looking forward to the new album.
This is the exact point between dawn and night time it's the piercing veil of light, the shadows of abyss. The figurines and shadows. The sleep paralysis, the ending way. I fucking love Be'lakor. I love that bands can create such amazing, and unexplainable feelings.
Time and Time again I am in awe how musicians conceptualise and execute complicated arrangements of various instruments that arrive in my ears through headphones and give me chills down the spine. With this song alone I would pinpoint 4 or 5 different moments that sound ridiculously beautiful, but I won't and let you discover for yourself. Thank you very much for the music
When you discover a new band, its the best and most exhilarating experience ever. When I discovered Insomnium, I thought this was the shit ( and i still do) but discovering Be'lakor is a whole new chapter in my life. This is awesome OH MAH GERD!! I cant contain myself!! so beautiful, it sheds tears to my eyes.
I'm totally addicted to their music I barely listen to anything else except their four albums any more and it's been that way ever since this album first came out when I discovered Belskor and there was only three.
My Favourite tracks on this album are Abeyance, Absit Omen and By Moon and Star, so I've been guilty of skipping this track a few times. But after sitting and reading through the lyrics for the album I've really grown to love this track, pure poetry.
I couldn't agree more. I pretty much wrote the same thing on another vid. Amazing voice. You can even hear how unique Georges voice is when speaking. Propably why it doesn't seem forced, when growling. And the changing rythm and riffs in each of their songs, really is nothing less than perfect.
The melodic riff that plays at 3:16 and which can be heard through out the song is absolutely amazing. I have always loved Be'lakor for this, throwing in great melody and being able to combine it with so many other elements to create masterful songs. Very well done with this new album guys, loving it so much. I'll also note how great that album art work is, really like that image.
"Of Breath and Bone", I currently have no doubts at all, stands strong and tall and mighty, as one of the very best albums I've heard in my entire life so far. And that means A LOT. Believe me. Their lyrics are also truly emblematic and beautiful, hugely inspiring and haunting, even if somewhat simple in the big picture. Theirs is the masterpiece of the year of 2012, at least IMHO. But this "humble opinion" is well rooted in many, many years of intelligent metal-listening, and all.
Guys from Be'lakor, you make a great music. The lyrics in combination with that very specific sound and melody are amazing. I have never heard of any other band playing melodic death metal that would sound similar to you. Keep making music because it's just so fucking awesome. Oh, and by the way, the album cover of "Of breath and bone" is one of the most beautiful pieces of artwork I've ever seen. Hails from Slovakia!
Omg its like finding my best old friend again listen to you guys like hell before then my comp crashed and now the guiding light have shown me back was so Amazed so i order new album in few mins Ago this kinda music is GODLIKE !!! hail YOU
This band has some of the best cover art for their albums I've seen. Whoever is doing it has some skills. And the growling at 1:28 is the best I've ever heard from any band, including Fields of the Nephilim.
From first album i was saying "it cant get better"...i was so wrong! No one else deserves to be #1 in top 20 albums of 2012. Keep the good work guys! cheers
Je suis français et je participe à la propagation de ce groupe fantastique en vers tous mes amis. Je ne suis pas très fan de death metal j'écoute en temps habituel le metal symphonique le trash metal mais il faut avoué que ce groupe est assez exeptionnel.
Best melodic metal band on the planet.
you're goddamn right
+Dylan Rose listen to insomnium you may change your mind.
+Ismael Alsabea I've listened to a ton of Insomnium and like them but these guys really hit a sweet-spot for me.
Insomnium - Be'lakor - Dark Tranquility ;)
be'lakor are better than insomnium
Silent but distant,
Real but not seen
Here but not happening,
Forever has been
Into this absence,
Two had but strayed
Retracing in circles,
They surrendered, dismayed
Behind them, darkness
Ahead, the unknown
So they stood, uninvited
...But the roots had grown
An error, a tangent
A curious mind
An instant, a lifetime
A secret to find
Imagined movements
Near shimmering webs
The Nightfall descended
To rest by their heads
Their feet planted firmly
'Neath four darting eyes
With pupils dilated,
They counted the sighs
The dream and the waking
Occurring together
Realising, then
That it mattered not whether
Their legs fading into
A curding moss
Their lungs slowly filling
With decades of loss
That scent form the forest
Not taking, not giving
They knew only this -
Not buried, not living
Their stagnating veins
Now hidden from view
In skin for the willow
And bone for the dew
The dream and the waking
Ending together
Understanding then
It had not mattered, ever
The outro gives me goosebumps every time.
Truly beautiful
An exceptional song!
I randomly heard these guys last week. I immediately knew they were something special. Easily some of the best music ever written, but you all know this already I'm late to the party.
Welcome on board
Never too late
It doesn t matter how late it is... enjoy.🙏
Never too late
The Dream and the Waking
Ending together
Realizing then -
That this is the best song, ever!
The riff sequence at 7:14 is eternally stuck in my head. Thank you for this beautiful masterpiece.
The dream and the waking
Ending together
Understanding then
It had not mattered, ever.
Best outro i've ever heard, alongside Countless Skies
Extremely good, YES!
I like the fact that this band doesn't abuse technicality like most metal bands nowadays
I have never heard of a band who can crank out melodic riff after melodic riff so consistently and have them all sound amazing.
out-fucking-standing. Be'lakor really is something else. cant get enough.
You guys are very special I hope you know that.
It should be impossible to write stuff like this, its insane how good it is..
Eargasm
Anything is possible if you want it really, really bad.
The last couple minutes are mesmerizing
Outstanding, astonishing, brillent !! This is the best melo-death band in history, these musicians are just brillent ❤

This is ageless
Hello brothers. I feel like I'm late to the Party.
A couple of years on, and this remains my favorite Be'lakor track. The way it builds to that unforgettable outtro is first class - looking forward to the new album.
agreed!! the outro is definitely something else. almost brings me to tears.
Arthur Watts I definitely agree, *The Dream And The Waking* is my all-time favorite song by Be'lakor! \m/
I'd give anything to be able to write music as beautiful as this!
God. That outro is absolutely mesmerizing..Just incredible...
This is the exact point between dawn and night time it's the piercing veil of light, the shadows of abyss. The figurines and shadows. The sleep paralysis, the ending way. I fucking love Be'lakor. I love that bands can create such amazing, and unexplainable feelings.
Great band.
Cheers from Holland 🇳🇱
The build up to 8:17 is just incredible, just another amazing song
I used to really dislike melodic death metal.. But this is amazing. This song is specific has really made the genre start to grow on me. :)
İt's like a race of melodies to your ear takes you with them in each direction then make you fall in moments then rise in glory
Thank you very much for the music
damn the melodies and progression on this track is pure awesomeness. :O
This is one of the only songs that will stand all my hairs on end. The transition at 3:45 is uplifting but still has the feeling of dread.
Be'lakors songs are all wonderful poems. I'm in love
Absolutely fucking amazing!!!!! where have you been all my life
Masterpiece, my favorite song on the album.
Like these guys more and more every time I hear them!
A perfect iteration of not only melodeath metal, but music itself!!
Another masterpiece from an unique band
Be´lakor is the sound of another world
I recently discovered this band, and I fucking love them!
Be'lakor is an absolutely amazing band. How have I missed out on this until now?!
The best band ever.👍
This song makes me vibe on a whole different level.
i literally **t r a n s c e n d**
Nasıl böyle bir şarkı yapabildiniz, siz nasıl insanlarsınız... Her melodisi her saniyesi ayrı güzel, iyi ki varsınız.
Aside from all the other songs, this song is very special to me.
Fantastic song, melody and composition, amazes me every time I hear it (and it's been a lot)!
I love this band..I absolutely love this song!!
Belabor has always helped me through tough times - this track is my go to when I feel like shit.. thanks for ur music, really!
I can relate♥️
The Outro starts 8:18 … best outro i ever heard in my life , it gives me goosebumps everytime .. you guys are genious ! 🤘🏻
I'm totally addicted to their music I barely listen to anything else except their four albums any more and it's been that way ever since this album first came out when I discovered Belskor and there was only three.
This song is among the best metal songs I've ever heard! And I've heard quite a few... just EPIC!
"The dream and the waking
occurring together
realizing, then
that is mattered not whether."
Best line on the album, perfection.
What's its meaning?
Nope.
The dream and the waking
ending together
Understanding then
it had not matter, ever
That's the best line in the entire album
Great song from a great album. This will get stuck in your head for days.
wow... just wow. words cannot describe the beauty of this album.
Songwriting and melody it's a real orgasm for the ear, you guys deserve to have more place in the metal scene.
My Favourite tracks on this album are Abeyance, Absit Omen and By Moon and Star, so I've been guilty of skipping this track a few times. But after sitting and reading through the lyrics for the album I've really grown to love this track, pure poetry.
totally agree - possibly one of the best songs ever made.
This track in particular has grown on me. From a fan who was there from the start; don't stop.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 THE DREAM & THE WAKING, OCCURING TOGETHER!
Your music is one of the most beautiful things in life and I have to thank you for that.
this music speaks to me!
I couldn't agree more. I pretty much wrote the same thing on another vid. Amazing voice. You can even hear how unique Georges voice is when speaking. Propably why it doesn't seem forced, when growling. And the changing rythm and riffs in each of their songs, really is nothing less than perfect.

This band has some of the best cover art for their albums I've seen. Whoever is doing it has some skills. And the growling at 1:28 is the best I've ever heard from any band, including Fields of the Nephilim.
This song has brilliant lyrics as do all the others on the album.
Waiting for 2019 album like what the hell... ;-)

I couldn't agree more, this kind of came out of nowhere and could very well be the best metal album of 2012.

Epicness pure
Just found this band v/v In Mourning. I Have instantly become a fan.
Just came across this magnificent band recently, please tell me these guys are still active, this is so damn good!
