The grill floss when cold and then heat up the grill and finish with the grill rescue seems to be the best of everything

I have used most of these grill brushes and I recommend the nylon brush above the grill rescue brush. Not because it doesn't work, but because it gets so gross and greasy. It's difficult to clean and the internal material of the grill rescue breaks down quickly and requires replacing often. Too expensive and not convenient to replace.

Ahh mine is getting greasy and nasty as well and noticed it doesn’t clean off easily. Haven’t noticed the intern part break down yet.

I take a different approach completely. I take the grill grates out, put them against two posts I have for the purpose and use my pressure washer with a turbo head on it. They nearly sparkle after 10 minutes.

Griddle scouring pads work amazing and big packs are not expensive. I then give a pass with some citrussafe and a towel. I don’t worry too much about cleaning the bottoms of the grates or the bottom half of the rods on my 1/4 inch stainless rod kettle grate. Maybe twice a year I cleane them within oven cleaner which works well. Expanded steel grates I mostly just knock off the bits stuff with a simple coil style brush and then giving a pass with the scouring pad and then a quick paper towel wipe down.

I found A stainless steel spring wire spring bristle brush, 700 times larger, with spring bristles, can be used with hot temperatures and does not rust. It features an assembly that's exceptionally sturdy, a solid cast aluminum handle. Cleans well and hot use and machine washable its called the BoyerBrush

i just got the grillart spiral brush after searching and searching and searching for a hot grill, bristle-free brush for linear grates. Then, today, i found out oxo makes a bristle-free brush! if you decide to do another shootout between brushes, would love to see a comparison including the oxo. i found it with searching "oxo hot grill brush", as it didn't show up in ANY of the searches I did on amazon with "grill brush", "bbq brush", "barbecue brush" etc. the inclusion of "HOT" might be the important bit.
I'm also planning to augment my tools with one of the grill rescue brushes, but I think it's nice to have an option that uses less consumables. the spiral and the oxo bristle free brushes look like they will stand up to some abuse, and I just didn't trust the grill rescue sponge thing yet.

I'm not an expert on using cast iron but I always thought that if properly seasoned than water by itself shouldn't be enough to remove the baked on oils?

I regard those conventional wire bristle brushes as dangerous. There are plenty of people who ended up with one of the wires in their food and consequently stuck in some part of their body. An ex-work colleague has a piece of wire lodged in her throat in an inoperable location and will have to live with the pain for the rest of her life.
I always used a grill brush until I heard her story (and then googled to learn of more!) - I chucked it away immediately.

I’ve had mine for over a year, and right now I’m replacing the first head on mine. I let someone use it to clean some very angular grates, and with it being over a year old, it finally tore.

Thanks for pointing that out. It isn’t a sponsored video. None of these brush manufacturers know that we shot this video or had a day in what we said. The only way we get paid is if someone clicks a link of ours because they found this helpful.

There’s not a true objective review. If not indirectly, sponsored by the winner, the review is questionable because he is getting a commission on sales of the entrance on his webpage.

There is such a thing as integrity. This channel is built on providing a lot of real-world testing of a wide variety of products. The presenter's integrity is very high. If his audience (other than you) thinks that he's just a shill for sponsored products, then his view rate will drop. Please back up your accusation with time stamps for where he puts his thumb on the scale for sponsored products.
You have to understand that for a channel like this, it takes a lot of money to buy all the gear. You can't begrudge him for sponsorships to help fund the channel and hopefully make a livable wage.
