One reason Stockholm was not founded until the 13th century is that the today Lake Mälaren was then a sea bay. The land rises from the sea at a rate of roughly 1 meter in 200 years in the Stockholm area and when Mälaren was turned into a lake Stockholm became a strategic point. Former cities like Sigtuna and Västerås (both claiming history back to the 10th century), located at the shores of Mälaren lost in importance as Stockholm grew. You see how the Ship's Bridge's Quay today really is too high, so there are more modern extensions to it that you go down on to get to a proper level in relation to the ships.
8:03: "Korn" refers to barley, not corn of course.
I am curious as to how this video was made: Do you walk with a camera in your hand or is it somehow attached to your body so you have the hands free?

This hideous Gangnam Style song could be repurposed to promote the Stockholm tourism district of Gamla Stan.
Sorry to have reminded you of that atrocious song...
    Simply change the chorus
    Gamla Stan!

    THE HOLY QUR'AN
    AND THE EXPANDING UNIVERSE.
    ALMIGHTY ALLAH THE MASTER CREATOR
Who can claim 1400 years ago that the universe is expanding?
والسماء بنينها بايد و انا لموسعون o
" And the heaven We built it with power, and indeed, We are the expander "
(And We it is Who make the vast extent, thereof )
    (Qur'an, 51:47)
Until 1931, physicist Albert Einstein believed that the universe was static. An urban legend attributes this change of perspective to when American astronomer Edwin Hubble showed Einstein his observations of redshift in the light emitted by far away nebulae - today known as galaxies.
After Hubble discovered that the universe was expanding, Einstein called the cosmological constant his "greatest blunder."
At around the same time, larger telescopes were being built that were able to accurately measure the spectra, or the intensity of light as a function of wavelength, of faint objects.
Almighty Allah is the Originator of the universe and Creator of Life and Mankind.
    He says:
" The Originator of the heavens and the earth! When He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only:Be and it is.
    (Qur'an,2:117)
The word بدع (bada'a) is used as here for the origin of the universe as a whole and خلق ( khalaqa) for the creation of all things. Bada'a بدع goes back to very primal beginning that is not known so far.
The beginning of the universe -- the first second of plank time is not well known.
The knowledge of scientists is very limited and incomplete to understand the universe!! But theirs constant efforts to understand the universe is highly admirable and these efforts are praiseworthy indeed.
