DRUMMER , THIS I CALL DRUMMER CHARLIE ROBINSON!!! LEGEND WITH OUT NO INFO . EVEN NOBODY KNOWS WHERE HE IS ,IS HE ALIVE!!! HE DESERVE PLACE NEXT TO GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL STARS!!! SO HELP FIND HIM!!!!
Goin' Down is like a locomotive going 120 mph crashing through every building in Texas and letting all the debris slam into the rest of the United States causing a natural disaster.
So true. I could say at 230 bpm, the exact tempo of the heart of a man who fight with himself before getting into too much trouble, as i imagine it could be on those dark days of slavery and segregation the blues often talk about. Going down has the weight of an inheritance and I feel the trance ...right under our eyes and ears, even if the lyrics says another thing, this is what i feel. however, talking about Chattanooga let think to a train, right.
I remember Freddy playing this Boogie on the show " In Concert". The song was so long that the TV station went to a Commercial Break, and when they returned to the show, this song was Still Playing! Boogie On Children, to the Legend Freddy King. :)
When I saw Freddie at Winterland I was expecting some average journeyman blues. Instead I got blown away by one of the most slammin blues sets I've ever seen, as this video proves.
Freddy King was one of the first concerts I ever saw. It was at the Ash Grove in LA and I was 13. It was incredible... we also gave one of his sidemen Hollywood Fats a ride to the gig cause he was too young to drive and my older brother had his license. so we got good seats. The Ash Grove was a really cool venue, wooden benches and tables and you could roll a joint and light up which was a big deal in those days.
grateful to uploader. the video may have been poor quality but the audio was damn good for the limited tech for live audio recordings of most rock and blues performers back then
You got that right bro. He was a genius. The more you listen, the more you realize his total domination. No one had the whole package like FK. Unprecedented balls and raw power and a man giving it his absolute all. Love him so much. The greatest bluesman ever.
That's damn good performance!! One of best on tube. When you go to the gig, you just want band to give 100 %, Freddie and crew delivered 200%. Lucky bastards in the crowd.
Freddie played with metal finger and thumb picks, which I think added to his tone - if you listen to Boogie Funk at 3.08 where it's just him playing you can hear them clicking against the strings each time he picks a note, almost like a high pitched slide note!
Come on everybody We're gonna have a good time Gimme all the love that's in ya I'm gonna give ya mine I wanna hear some hand clappin I want you to get in the groove We're gonna play this footstompin' music Everybody get up and groove
Charles Sita HE WAS EXACTLY THIS HIGH ENERGY IN CONCERT SAW HIM IN SAN DIEGO WHEN I WAS FIFTEEN QUICK SILVER MESSENGER SERVICE WAS FIRST ON STAGE THEN FREDDIE KING THEN BB KING IT WAS AWESOME I WAS BLOWN AWAY !!! IM FIFTY NINE NOW AND STILL LISTEN TO HIS MUSIC STILL HOOKED ON THE BLUES I DO FEEL LIKE HE WAS UNDER APPRECIATED BUT HE DEFINATELY HAD A FAN BASE ME INCLUDED
If you listen to this without watching the video, you think this must be an alien from outer space, 'cause no human could sound this balls-to-the-wall! If you watch the video, you think damn he sweats so hard he must be on fire, no wonder the music is too!
If you want to see another beast of a drummer have a look at Trevor Morias playing Walk On The Wild Side (not the Lou Reed song!) with The Peddlers: ua-cam.com/video/2gOLkwj-zVI/v-deo.html
Denis Kostic I posted in the Drummerworld forum a year ago, asking for any info on Charlie Robinson and so far, no one has responded, with the exception of one forum member who turned me on to this video. I can’t imagine that a drummer that good would just give up playing and disappear into obscurity. If he’s alive, I guess he’d be around 70-ish, provided he was in his late 20s at the time this video was shot.
I came to check, how the drummer.. but now I m flashed… he is totally on fire 🔥 And Piano and Organ on Stage… is this still happening on planet earth? Bass is killin it too… What an awesome Band…
A man and band who gave it 100 % not like the wishy washy shite now a days
DRUMMER , THIS I CALL DRUMMER CHARLIE ROBINSON!!! LEGEND WITH OUT NO INFO . EVEN NOBODY KNOWS WHERE HE IS ,IS HE ALIVE!!! HE DESERVE PLACE NEXT TO GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL STARS!!! SO HELP FIND HIM!!!!
One of the best Guitar players ever!!!! Love you Freddie.
The drummer STOLE IT !!!!!!!
The drummer is on fire..... as is the whole band and of course, the Texas Cannonball hisself.
His name is Charlie Robinson...nobody knows nothing about him.
Always wanted to know who the drummer was/is ? This was a truly great band & Freddie one of the most exciting acts I ever saw.
The Greatest blues guitarist that ever lived and the drummer kicked ass!!!💯
on goin' down - bass player is all over it too~!
@@keithmangold2263 Agreed! 👍

From just a purely musical standpoint this is amazing. A stage full of masters at their instruments playing together.
Man when he grips a bend he does not f@ck around. He puts that thing in its place.
This is as real as it gets folks. No amount of gear or number of players can ever replicate what Freddie and crew could do on any given night.
Hound dog taylor could, Jimi could, Gary could, Collins could, and a few others in their style, but ... not so much, right.
Denis M please go listen to your crew and Mike P and I will stick with Freddie and we’re going to listen to Big Legged Woman next.
tru dat
Goddamn right.
Elvin bishop is pretty good and he still plays, maybe he could replicate freddie a little on his red 335
When I saw Freddie at Winterland I was expecting some average journeyman blues. Instead I got blown away by one of the most slammin blues sets I've ever seen, as this video proves.
What a wildman, raw power that's almost impossible to replicate.
So this is the 30th Time i play this ower again😂❤

A powerhouse like no other ,and just cool as shit dude ,gone to soon ,surely missed ,but never to be forgotten, Freddie King...
That man could play the guitar!
This guy was big and so was his sound! We miss you Freddie King.
This was the real blues King with a lot more.
Freddy King has an energy few of us ever find. The more you listen to his music the more in love with it you get. A natural intoxication

Plus his devotion is infectious. It's his love and passion for the music that just smacks the listener in the face.
If Freddy and Fats Domino could've jammed together, it would've rocked.
@@bluesmills So spot on
Got to see this band 5 or 6 times Rough and Ready style. Always had crowd grooving with him. Nice to see a different live video .
that drummer is fuckin awesome!
Freddie scorchin' set......too freakin' hot. Funky axe licks with the drivin' drums and blisterin' bass. Daayuum smokin' indeed!
Slammin Blues + everyone coked out = this awesome version of "Goin Down"

Holy moly! Wow!
Wow! What power and energy.
Dream of rollin' down the highway listening to this! The "Deacon", slaying that Hammond
Usually, seeing a man on fire doesn't make me this excited...
this is where any good hard rocking music you have ever heard originated .
sure, with Jimi,
That's damn good performance!! One of best on tube. When you go to the gig, you just want band to give 100 %, Freddie and crew delivered 200%. Lucky bastards in the crowd.

This masterpiece needs to be remastered. Fantastic guitaring, magnificent organist, but the drummer was just freaking crazy - WOW man ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Listen to the drummer work that kick pedal on Goin' Down! Great rockin' blues!
Fucking wow. Freddie King is *scandalously* underrecognized.
Nearly Untouchable
sorry ABSOLUTELY
I get the chills over and over...miss you lots! Never had the chance to see this blues legend, who is extremely under rated. Mary, Guttenberg, NJ

se fue pronto , pero nos dejo estas joyas de la musica rock , para mi el mejor de los KINGS
Totalmente de acuerdo. Con todo respeto a Albert y BB pero Freddie tenía algo más.
It is quite simple - Freddie King was the best electric blues guitar ever. Magic Sam and the Blind Owl round out the top 3
JDWIII owes alot to Freddie. You can really hear it in his licks.
@@wformic yeah - nice point - Texas twins
