*gets jumpscared by the dog's name* Oh i have so many thoughts about this one. Is the mother squirrel the same squirrel that the wife saved after the dog injured it? Is it why it's so cautious of the husband and has such a trustful relationship with the wife. Also the fact that both wife and husband are seen actively doing stuff that produces food in a safe way after one of them dies While Foraging For Food... Also if i remember it correctly the apple tree brings more apples if the husband is alive, since he's better with plants. Also i think that they get killed by the same wolf that attacks the daughter later, since there's like drag marks or blood on the snow near the fishing spot, and how would there be blood if they fell into the water. Plus the daughter defending herself against something that successfully killed one of her parents is narratively pleasant lol. Separate paragraph for thoughts about the grimreapery. It does check out, right?? The playable character is wearing a black hood and all, watching over their lives. Also teleports. Why else would they be there, but i think it's a pretty cool point of few to see a story from. Can't really articulate other thoughts im eepy its 3am
Ohhh I didn't pick up that they turned to farming food safely after the death, nice catch! Though I did note that the mother had more animals, and the father had more plants in their farms - which ties into what you said about the mother being better with animals and father with plants. And that squirrel was defs the one she saved, and even though they ran away from the dad, I like to think there was some sort of respect there lol - they stuck around after mum's death but still stayed close. I also love that the daughter fended off the wolf that likely killed her parent. On that note also, we are surely death embodied because when she is lying on the ground she calls us a vulture and says "I'm not dead yet!" lol.
