No, it wasn't an anti drinking speech.
He was talking about how everyone says he's back on drugs whenever he tries something new or whenever there's a problem in his life, and how he's sick of hearing people say stupid shit like that, it's been eleven years.
And they were absolutely right
That's outright fucking rude.
This is so sad in retrospect
All those people cheering when a serious addict (whom they claim to love) says he is drinking should be ashamed. He's drinking "sometimes?" He seems loaded at this show. As for Scott, he's been through the program enough to know that that wasn't acceptable. But, in the last few years, he seemed so far in the midst of the disease that he was wallowing in denial and delusion. He alienated everyone that could possibly help him and surrounded himself with enablers. Then he fell and probably wondered why there was no-one there to catch him. Very sad. RIP SW

Doug Grean was in the background during that speech just thinking “I’m so tired of hearing this bullshit” it wasn’t that much later that there was no more Doug Grean in this band.

I feel so sad for him.... think he was always reaching out for someone to help him and, no one did. people just enable him. he was pressured by too much Fame and to try to make the machine work. basically, was forced to work too hard to pay child support and probably alimony
Not forced to do anything. He ran with his soul and I sincerely applaud him for that.
you got that right....Mary was after him for alot of money every month. She is still after the estate trying to up the monthly payments even though he had a new wife of two years. He worked himself to death. I love you Scott and miss you!!
