Isn't it "Assumption", when body and soul are taken into Heaven, as with the Virgin Mary? "Transubstantiation", as far as I know, is when the elements of the Eucharist, the bread and the wine, become the Body and Blood of Christ during the consecration in the Roman Catholic Mass. "The Rapture" is another term, but that seems to be part of a more recent Protestant eschatology. I could be wrong though. Great video by the way! I did misspeak at the end there. Allow me to clarify now being well rested and caffeinated: Assumption is when a body is taken into heavy to be reunited with the soul, which is the case with Mary the mother of Christ, and is sometimes incorrectly used to describe bodily ascension which is when you are taken alive into heaven; such as Enoch: Enoch "walked with God: and he was no more; for God took him" (Gen 5:21-24). Transubstantiation more generally is miraculous transformation - the most common ritual being that of the Eucharistic and Wine into the body and blood of Christ for mass, but Christ also does this when he turns the water into wine as an example - this is is the term I was searching for towards the start of the stream when discussing Michelangelo's fresco and the scandal that ensued as this was considered the most holy of rituals that was performed in front of the work. Sorry my brain wanders a bit sometimes in these early morning live streams, and as they are live there is no editing for continuity. I then misspoke when discussing the the resurrection of the dead to be ascended into heaven because I had remembered. 🤦 I certainly needed more caffeine! 'The Rapture' is not a recent construct and rather is derived from Middle French 'rapture', via the Medieval Latin 'raptura' ("seizure, kidnapping"), which derives from the Latin 'raptus' ("a carrying off") and was used interchangeably to discuss The Last Judgement and the second coming of Christ; upon his arrival which is considered the last entail of The Last Judgement. Or at the very least that is my understanding of it, I certainly would not consider myself an expert on the subject. Also, welcome to the channel! I am glad you are enjoying things! 🙂
Wonderful video!! Love hearing about the art history and how it progressed through history. Don’t tease me about that book hahaha Any thought to a discussion of the grouped minors as a part of the series? Would love to hear some history and background on them to aid me in this Tarot journey. Thank you so much for this series though it’s amazing.
Great presentation - I love your incorporation of Art History into your deep dives! Judgement is one of those cards that I always have a tough time wrapping my head around. Fave Judgement cards: Dream Vision Tarot by Emma Zhang. It depicts a giant trumpet over a crowd of people with upraised hands. It actually looks like a rock concert! Another fave is the Tyldwick Tarot - the Judgement card features antique jack-in-in the boxes - which (compared to the traditional image of people popping out of their coffins) is hilarious to me. Looking forward to the remaining deep dives!
