JOURNALLING QUESTIONS: ♥ When was the last time to began a new chapter or reinvented yourself? ♥ If you could redesign your life (and self), what would you do differently? ♥ If you could reinvent ONE area of your life, what would it be? ♥ When did you last experience an awakening? It could be a sexual, spiritual or psychic awakening or a sudden awareness and clarity about your life’s purpose. Or something else entirely. ♥ How did that awakening change your life? ♥ When in your life have you felt a strong calling and followed it? What happened? ♥ What do you feel called to do right now? What direction is pulling you?
Hey Kate! - I am now 66 years old and have had a number of opportunities to totally re-invent my life "from the ground up" as they say. Usually these opportunities came in the form of things most people wouldn't necessarily want, like a divorce, becoming homeless, etc. But every single time that something like that happened, I was able to re-build an even better life than I'd had before. Every single time, without exception. So that now at the age of 66, my life is better than it has ever been. The whole key is to keep a positive attitude. If you think it's a disaster, then it's a disaster. But if you think it's an opportunity, then it's an opportunity. A caterpillar can think, "Oh no, I'm trapped in a cocoon and my body is melting!!" Or it can think, "This is great! I'm turning into a butterfly!!" I think you'll have a much happier life if you take the second approach.
I don't believe I have ever reinvented myself, despite having many different experiences. If I could have changed anything about myself, I would have liked to have a more mature, grounded outlook at a far younger age.
it is possible that you "woke up" in the subtle physical world, where things are perceived as real as in our world but subtler. You became conscious in your sleep, which is a wonderful stage in the process of spiritual awakening.
Because of the way the word “judgment” is used today this card always has a negative feel for me at first glance, before its real meaning supplants that feeling. So, I agree that its title, in today’s world, doesn’t quite fit. I think the title “Awakening” would be more appropriate. Nevertheless, “Judgement” always reminds me that a person’s words, actions and decisions today will have consequences tomorrow, good or bad. In a reading, that is always something I’m reminded of.
@@amandaurb337 I feel an inner calling to respond to you here. 😂 To me, this card represents waking up to the truth. When I think about our actions and their consequences, I see it like this: yes, all our actions have consequences or effects-not as punishment, but as results that unfold around us. But our actions are also consequences themselves. Whatever you did that got you into trouble was a natural consequence of what you had been through. We are all shaped by our conditioning. Everything we think, believe, feel, and do is a result of our experiences and how we’ve been treated by others. Until we wake up, start listening inward, and process what we've been through, we often act on autopilot, following the programming we've received. That's why we can’t really judge each other-because we haven’t lived through the same experiences. So, when I see this card, I think of it as waking up from judgment, breaking free from our conditioning, and connecting with our true selves. This allows our purpose to come through without our conditioning or brain ‘getting in the way.’ I’m saying all of this because I want you to have empathy and compassion for yourself. Understand that what you went through naturally led to the actions you took that got you into trouble. 💜 I hope this perspective helps you feel better about this card. ☺️
Thank you! Excellent info. My soul is calling me to learn Tarot and to have my bunny, AJ pull cards for me. He loves to do it so I don't feel like I'm making h perform. And because of AJ landing in my life five years ago I've realized my purpose, my calling is to protect and Dave bunnies. I work on legislation to protect them (and am pretty successful!) And I volunteer with a shelter. My home has become a microsanctuary, housing AJ and 13 of his friends. I hope the Judgement card keeps showing up for me as I've got an idea for writing a different format Tarot book.
The shield on this card reminds me of the era of the Crusades when religious fervor sparked entire civilizations into action. What will set your heart on fire? All of the characters in the lower half of the card seem to be either mostly, or completely, turned towards a central point which aligns with the trumpet as they respond to a call that captures their heart. I find the poses of these characters to be very tree-like. The characters in the front are rooted in soil reminding us to stay grounded while reaching up and out to chase our dreams. In the Crusades, many things that were morally bankrupt were justified via religious interpretations. Maintain your balance, like a strong tree, yet know when to bend (to avoid being uprooted) in the wind of a trumpet blast of idealistic fervor.
Judgment is meant as more of a decision, discernments, determination. Absolution and direction where there might be multiple interpretations or routes to take, all other choices are eliminated. To me this signals unmistakable, clear and concise conclusion
It means that everyone drowned when Octavian dived off the treasury. He judged the world and the people, and jumped off. The water rose up and people drowned. 1000 years later he caused a solar flare to dry it up. So there is a lot of water above people, and they do not see it.
Happy that you have explored in depth. about higher awakening.and its subtle aspects. We are all, awakened at a divine timing and guided to take a particular path, which is towards our Life purpose
I had a flash of inspiration watching you this morning of "which one are you (generic you) on the card - one of the people awakening and arising, or are you one of the ones here helping others to wake up?" I wish Waite had renamed this card, as many now do, Awakening. Thanks for another great video.
This is such a relief to hear your take on this card. I really was worried about the judgement surrounding painting this card. I had a lot doom and gloom thoughts that I had to fight back, similar to the death, and the devil cards (heavy sounding cards to conjure and paint). But I did it. And I survived. I was really happy about this one as my figure walked the circus tight rope like slack rope, high up above the mountains, arms out close to the sky. I like your thoughts about the re-invention part. I think that it's also interesting that it comes before the world card and not after it. But maybe it's an old story thing. Not quite sure. I like the questions you come up for these readings too, very thought provoking. Thank you again. Love and LIght!
Thank you so much! I've been studying the tarot now for probably 35 years on and off and lately it's just coming at me from all angles and I pulled the judgment card the other day and I never pull that card and I happen to be with some friends and they were asking me what it meant that I was having such a hard time describing it because they were saying oh maybe it's all about the choices in your life and that's not exactly it it's like a higher calling and it's kind of like a second chance but looking at what needs to come and what needs to go and I am moving forward… And you explained it so well today and recently I feel like my higher self has been calling me To the tarot again.... and it's kind of one of those make it or break it opportunities because I've also been diagnosed with cancer recently and I feel like that is my calling to get with it and live my life in a different way than I've been living it for the last few years… Anyway I really really enjoy your channel and I've just subscribed
Thank you for this explanation! It's so spot on, and easy to follow and understand. I also love the journal prompts! I've always struggled with this card, and you nailed it. I only fully understood what it meant after I recently had a health crisis and subsequent "awakening". Up until then I was just like..."I don't know, resurrection?!" I love all the examples you give, big and small. We are called in so many ways. ✨
Thank you 🙏🏼 for explaining this card so brilliantly. The card with its name does sound harsh. I understand this card so much better now. There absolutely are new beginnings on the horizon. At least I am hoping. 😊
I just had an awakening. I had opened youTube to a podcast called artist decoded and that led me to the discovery of the artwork of Joshua Hagler whose work I had not discovered until today and it blew me away. I decided what my next painting is going to be and proceeded to happily discover his amazing and inspiring work. Then I came here and this card and your explanation. Thank you. Synchronistic happening.
That's so cool, Kathleen! I'm not familiar with this artist, so I looked him up - very intense and fascinating stuff! Good luck with your next painting ♥
Shin: Teeth = Sharp (choice) - Press (decision) - Eat (commitment) Once committed to the inner Spiritual path, there is no turning back. One cannot serve two masters. Choice = decision to commit. Being aware of being aware is unmodulated by the 5 senses, thus unfettered, which is the resonant inner state frequency closest in alignment with the frequency of the all-inclusive Absolute at the still point of silence where all that is perpetually changing for the better and all things are possible (Wisdom and Understanding). Learning Discernment, exercising good judgement wise counsel. State of Being = the world is too much with me. 'My Kingdom is not of this world'.
There is another name for this card - In Thoth Tarot it's called The AEON Like that more than Judgment. Lucid dreaming is for sure a big new awareness, there is so much written about it in the Toltec wisdom and other indigenous ancestors, in Australia, aboriginal culture has a pivotal notion of 'dreaming'.
Thanks, Kate! I love this series! I had never paid very much attention to this card before and so had no real opinion about it, but I found your explanation very interesting!
I LOVE this series! It's incredibly helpful as I meander my way through learning tarot. I don't use the same deck (I have the Dark Wood deck) but a lot of the symbology is the same. You do a great job breaking it down and finding the meaning within the card and I feel like I have a richer understanding of my own deck by using your videos as a supplement to the book mine came with. I hope you finish this series and do the minor arcana (Hopefully by aces, twos, threes and not wands, cups, swords etc) next. Thank you for the time you put into this! :)
the card shows an angel with a cross flag positioned on its right side. It seems to have something to do with afterlife. Probably a different type of angel than those on the wheel of fortune & temperance cards. Woken with trumpet + writing on card, to some that seem to imply some sort of "review"
