Now that I am retired I picked up the guitar again and am learning things that I should have learned many years ago. I have time to jam now and play out every once and awhile. ( On bass most of the time ) You have the patience of a saint and could teach anyone to play. Bless you and your family.

First I hope you are having a wonderful birthday. I am a year ahead of you and still can't figure out if retirement is my thing. I do know that slowing down is on my list, but never stopping. Really love your channel, even though I am a drummer, you have so much to offer musicians of all ages. A goal of mine is to always pass on to young people the joy music can provide. Eric - I live in Israel and love your videos. 3 years ago at age 45 my wife said i was crazy to "now" start learning how to play an instrument. She (who is a trained pianist), said I had never learned an instrument before, and said I am as tone deaf as they come. I'll never forget about 9 months into my journey, she walked in the house one day and said, wow, I know that song, "not bad".. And now just over 3 years in she says I sound "pretty good"... Its folks like you that have let me learn without having a proper 1on1 teacher to work with. Your vids are SO CLEAR and UNDERSTANDABLE, its a gift you have been given. Also, 65 today is not 65 of 20-30-40 years ago. And last, I would guess you love what you do, so its not really work, so how does one retire from what they enjoy if they are alive, healthy and able???? If you decide to visit Israel, I'll take you around... And we have a great guitar scene here as well. -David
Greetings from the USA David! Bravo to you for deciding to go after guitar at 45! Lot's of folks think that it is youth thing, but they are wrong. Even though I have played guitar all my life, everything that I teach in my studio and on UA-cam was learned since age 55! I had played in a band for years(and was not very good), and decided to take lessons from two teachers over a two year period and learned absolutely nothing from them that I could not already do. I decided to start teaching myself at age 55, and with God's help here I am! I love this job, so I am never going to retire from it. So you will be seeing a lot more of my stuff in the future! Now that I am retired I picked up the guitar again and am learning things that I should have learned many years ago. I have time to jam now and play out every once and awhile. ( On bass most of the time ) You have the patience of a saint and could teach anyone to play. Bless you and your family.

Eric - I live in Israel and love your videos. 3 years ago at age 45 my wife said i was crazy to "now" start learning how to play an instrument. She (who is a trained pianist), said I had never learned an instrument before, and said I am as tone deaf as they come. I'll never forget about 9 months into my journey, she walked in the house one day and said, wow, I know that song, "not bad".. And now just over 3 years in she says I sound "pretty good"... Its folks like you that have let me learn without having a proper 1on1 teacher to work with. Your vids are SO CLEAR and UNDERSTANDABLE, its a gift you have been given. Also, 65 today is not 65 of 20-30-40 years ago. And last, I would guess you love what you do, so its not really work, so how does one retire from what they enjoy if they are alive, healthy and able???? If you decide to visit Israel, I'll take you around... And we have a great guitar scene here as well. -David
Greetings from the USA David! Bravo to you for deciding to go after guitar at 45! Lot's of folks think that it is youth thing, but they are wrong. Even though I have played guitar all my life, everything that I teach in my studio and on UA-cam was learned since age 55! I had played in a band for years(and was not very good), and decided to take lessons from two teachers over a two year period and learned absolutely nothing from them that I could not already do. I decided to start teaching myself at age 55, and with God's help here I am! I love this job, so I am never going to retire from it. So you will be seeing a lot more of my stuff in the future!
