I hadn't heard this song, until a couple of days ago when I happened upon some Shocking Blue. I am finding them and their music fascinating. I especially like "Inkpot", "Railroad Man", and the song that hooked me into listening to these people, "Venus". I am glad that I found Shocking Blue, my only regret being that I hadn't been aware of them long ago. They're really interesting and I like their songs.

been into shocking blue since i first time watch her video couple years back. i was born in the 70s but only now get to listen to all these great bands now.
WOW!!! the ink pots were still in our desks at school although at that time we had moved on to pens etc .LOTS of fun sticking all kinds of stuff filling up the ink pots .All ways as a child felt hard done by that we didnt have a choice to still use them .
Shocking Blue made some great songs back in the early 70s and Mariska had such a great voice and hot with it, but Holland did produce some fantastic Groups around then.

I never knew Shocking Blue was this big. I'd always thought they were pretty much a garage band and a one hit wonder with Venus. Unless they were big in their native Netherlands and Venus was their only hit in the USA

I have always been familiar with the song Venus but didn't really know who sang the song. I recently came across this band Shocking Blue and realized, wow this is the band that sang Venus. I have since listened to many of their other songs and many I really like. Now I can't get Shocking Blue out of my mind. I listen to them quite often now.
