My daughter bought a '24 about 6 months ago. The thing has been flawless. Not a single issue with it. Way more options in it vs my wife's same year Audi. Taos has wireless CarPlay, heated steering wheel, remote start.... none of that in the Audi & the Audi was +$15k more. Taos is a crazy underrated vehicle nowadays.
Saw one yesterday an SEL Taos is $37,500.00 out the door a 2025 Tiguan SEL is rumored to be $45,000.00 and up. It looks like the Taos is the new Tiguan.
The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Limited for $33k after a $2,441 rebate ( Scottsdale, AZ), would probably be the one I'd pick if I was in the market for a compact crossover, but no doubt the VW TAOS is a compelling alternative. I'd pass on the panoramic sunroof (don't like a big hole in my roof) which would reduce the VW to under $30k. I watched another review on the 2025 TAOS & his opinion was that he preferred the previous model engine better bc of the DSG. He said it felt more like a German engineered vehicle as opposed to the new 8 speed. The gentleman said people were complaining that the DSG had a tendency to jerk during gear shifts sometimes, but the new model doesn't seem as fun, it's been neutered.
@ brakes twice, radio blank screen, fuel lines, fuel canister etc etc all within 24k mile. Vw saying is normal for break pads to only last 10k miles and pesky check engine light which two dealerships wrote off as bad gas without really doing an analysis of the fuel. Always used top tier gas. Vw customer service was no help at all. I really hated dealing with them. They are machines and stuff goes wrong but vw took no responsibility. Ina span of two years I counted more than 10 visits to the dealerships not counting oil changes(2)
@@romansrides6647 I agree but my main problem was with vw customers service. They said keep bringing it back and all is covered under warranty (except break pads) but I don’t feel you should have to change the break pads with the same frequency as the oil. Plus having the dealership keep fixing stuff even if it’s still under warranty is not ideal and you get no loaner. No vw for me ever again.
@ even worse! Its the smallest infotainment in this category of vehicles, or in this segment if you prefer. Thats what I meant. Hell, a base Corolla has a bigger screen!
@ this is way too small circa 2017. Why bigger? Ask that to every other automaker out there. Ask that to customers. See what response you get. Why would you need a bigger tv? A bigger iPhone screen? A bigger car? A bigger house? Seriously? Are you living under a rock???!! For that price the Taos is far behind the competition.
I just viewed a vid (Realistick) "6 reasons to buy a 2025 Subaru Crosstrek", and apparently Subaru has upgraded the Crosstrek's engine form a 2.0 to a 2.5 (although it's a CVT).

Own a 2022 taos, already completed 102000, still it gives the same performance & fuel economy .
excellent!
Have you had the head gasket replaced yet? I own a 2022 love it had a few small issues, break pads wore out fast. But other than that pretty good cuv.
