You were both getting on so well until you brought up the frets! So funny - I could see Erika wasnt going to let you get away with that Petr you naughty boy. £20 :). Next July I will have been in this industry 30 years. OMG..... Furch & Dowina are both incredibly special brands - both brands have unique but different offerings which actually compliment each other perfectly in terms of providing a customer a choice of experience - both of which are out of this World. I dont know whether this video captured their unique positions - but I had to flick though as I am so short of time but will watch again!!! Furch always did produce the finest sounding instruments that put main stream American brands to shame. What they have pioneered and it has been so fascinating to experience is developing techniques that enable them to cope with demand WHILST RETAINING the original beautiful characteristics of tone (whiuch are Struy unique) and then adding modern developments which improve the instrument even further. Dowina - They really are about the emotional - human connection - telling a story through your instrument - Highly personalized details, artistry and vision from the craftsman they use - who continue to use very traditional tooling methods - very old school - and wonderful. The result from both brands is something I am so lucky to have been so close to and both brands represent my top personal recommendations - and I have sold all the top brands over the years. - I am proud to say we are a leading European dealer for both brands and if anyone in the UK is interested to visit - we are centrally located and opposite the local train station in stratford upon avon. . I promise you a day to remember :). Obviously - if Petr and Erika ever have the time it would be my dream come true to have a similar conversation with you. I loved seeing Erika getting feisty - Shes understandably proud of her frets, lol :). So lovely to see you both side by side - wish I could have been there to join the fun. Well done for putting all this together, whoever made it happen
Love this! Furch owner here, incredible guitars!! I love what Dowina is doing as well and hoping to get to play one!! I also appreciate the transparency of this conversation with two wonderful and passionate owners of these excellent guitar companies!!
Im a long time Furch user i giged over 800 gigs with my G24 model and its my main guitar. Very good quality instrument. But last year i ordered a custom Lowden F Shape style guitar from a factory in Hong Kong - HsienMo. Amazing quality, insane sound, all custom woods and at a third of price of original Lowden. So check them out, they also produce top instruments.
I have heard great things about HsienMo lately as they made a ‘copy’ of the Mayer anniversary guitar that got the internet talking. I would like to try their guitars. This event was so great because I got to play several Furch and Dowina guitars. It’s important to me that I meet a brand and see their work first.
Thank you Aaron for the wonderful podcast. We have two Dowinas and (unfortunately no Furch Guitar) in our showroom. Dowina Guitar and our Lily one pickup system through an AER amplifier. Great! Come by and check it out. (btw. September is Guitar Summit in Germany)
The biggest problem I see for guitar consumers is the buy direct from the factory. When you buy a guitar you should play several. Maybe even several from more than one store. And then choose the best sounding and comfortable guitar for you. All guitars are not equally. Even the same model from the same builder. You can walk onto a shop and play every guitar you're interested in trying. And still not find the right one. Now that comparison option is being taken away. Guitar players deserve good guitars. Factory built guitars are not not reliable enough to just accept the one the factory is sending you.
I own a Dowina guitar. Doing business with Erika was simple and easy. The guitar sounds great.
Thanks for sharing. I can’t wait to play some more!
Bought a Dowina a few months back. Amazing in every way, worth every penny!
Congrats. I look forward to reviewing more Dowina and Furch guitars!

I agree 100% but guitar stores are going out of business (many of them understandably so) so it’s catch 22…
Fender do not make great acoustic guitars.😊
It was an example of a major guitar brand. They are the highest revenue guitar brand in the world.
