Thanks for the velcro tips. It's always been a pain to sew but your tips are very helpful! Funny story: My girlfriend was recently sitting across from you when you flew back to Buffalo from Chicago. She said she felt like she recognized you from "somewhere". When she was telling me the story, she said it was a lady with beautiful long silver hair. I said, "Oh you mean Laura Coia." She said, "Yes!! That's her!" I mentioned you and your husband live in Ontario and she was surprised. We love your tutorials and videos! ❤❤
Great tips! I stay away from Velcro because of the difficulty sewing. Thank you Laura!
WOW thanks for the tips. I knew about the channel but never thought to trim off some of the loops!
Thank you Laura for your consistent tips and knowledge of sewing. I appreciate all the info you give us!
Thanks Laura.
I love the "give yourself a little channel" tip. I did all the things you said and walla they worked. Thankyou
You are right. It is a love hate relationship...lol Great tip!🥰
Thanks for the tip about the “haircut”. Always had problems sewing Velcro but I think this will solve that for me.
I recently discovered iron-on velcro tape - my new favorite.
If there is one thing I have learnt about sewing it's that no matter how long you have been sewing for and can do lots of things there is always something new to learn. An interesting new way to do things that can only improve they way I sew. Learning is a life long thing and I love it. Enjoyed this video. Thank you Laura.
Oh my gosh !!! I just learned how to use that foot about 4 hrs. ago. My Brother just bought me a Viking. Had to take a class 😀 But I never would have guessed Velcro. I have always used a needle and thread. Thank you for showing us this.🧵🪡
Thanks Laura, you have made putting on Velcro easy peasy, I have always struggled with it.
fantastic information thank you for sharing
I have a project I need to add Velcro to and I’ve been putting it off. Perfect timing! Thank you.
Thank You!
Laura , your video is timely! Do you have telepathic powers ?? 😉 seem so !
I am making 24 luggage wraps as part of my gift basket for Christmas … 12 people , 2 each . Going shopping soon for your needle recommendation since it’s 24 units I have to make.
Thank you 🙏🏻. Always very good tutorial….you never disappoint.
Great information and tips! May have to try velcro again.😮
Thank you. Thank you for this info. ❤
You always explain things so clearly! Now I know how to sew on Velcro. Thanks so much for all your helpful tips!!!
That’s awesome. Thank you. I really needed to learn yet another great tip from you. BTW, your rings are beautiful. 👍
Have a blessed day
Thank you. I'm new to sewing and found your video really helpful about velcro and different sizes of needles.
Thanks Laura, very useful info. I’m going to give it a try right now. R.
Thanks for the tips. I had no idea
Thanks Laura. A great tip on Velcro.
Great teaching video
THANK YOU!!!!! I could have used these hints when I made the Paperdoll Quilt for my grand niece. The hardest part was sewing the Velcro on each piece of clothing for the doll!
Thank you for showing this! I was always afraid to sew Velcro with my machine. I hand stitched it on, using a very thick needle, and of course, a thimble to protect my fingers!
Oh, I was going to sew some for a chair cushion, so very timely. The type I have is "sewable" (or they claim) but I'll still use these ideas, it won't hurt.
This is just what I needed, thank you so much, I can now sew on the correct velcro to my shopping trolley so that I can close and secure the flap.
🖐
This is a very valuable lesson, THANK YOU. Now I don't have to avoid velcro on fabric anymore.
Thankyou very much for this video. Great idea! 🙂
Thanks ❤
Many thanks. I didn't know that non-stick needles existed.
I always learn something new from you! Great tips for sewing Velcro. I used it on the bottom of my foot pedal, as per your tutorial, and it’s a game changer! Thank you Laura
👌
Have you seen the kind of Velcro that is the same on both sides? Instead of one soft piece and one with hard loops, they are identical. They stick together just as well as the original type. The one I bought a couple of years ago came on a roll.
I really like the idea of using the edge foot because it has that little metal bar to sort of hold back the hook side of the velcro. Great tip, thank you for sharing!
Thanks :)
Very helpful information! Thank you, Laura.
Where was this video last year lol ? I got a new machine last year, I wanted to make cord keepers. I was scared that my machine wouldn’t be able to, so I hand cranked it. As I was hand cranking I could feel how hard the Velcro was for the needle. I used a size 14 regular, but I thought I should have used a denim needle and a size 16. Thank to this video, Now I know what to do.
Another excellent tip!
Thank you so much! I've been pulling my hair out trying to sew some Velcro on a project.
Awesome!
Good tips. I actually just used some hook and loop dots recently. They had adhesive but I sewed over them because I knew the adhesive wouldn’t last on the fabric. It gummed up my needle (as expected) so I cleaned the needle immediately after use with alcohol. I was happy with the end result although I tend to steer clear of Velcro type products because they attract lint and have limited functionality.
Thank you! I was having trouble with my buttonholer and decided to sew on Velcro tabs instead. It was a very frustrating experience. The stitching on the strips of Velcro looked very uneven and ugly. I had decided not to ever use Velcro again but now I am encouraged to try again using your helpful tips.
buttonholer without the on and r
Good idea. I usually just hand stitch or glue it down.
👍🏼👏💐
Which is a sturdier stitch for Velcro> Straight or zig zag? I would think striaght......
Can you use this for later on putting on velcro patches? What type of velcro size do I find for a rectangular name tag velcro patch?
❤🤍💙
Got ja
Very careful
Another great tip. I've hated sewing velcro. Thanks! Now I won't be afraid using it.
