I like Dramatic Reversal in the list because it functionally adds another instant speed win, even if it's a little convoluted. You might be able to do the same thing with Birgi, but the infinite mana just makes it so easy to say "I'm going to lightning bolt infinitely until I win." Convoluted infinite loop description: Untap + draw spell on stack (say cerulean wisps) with Stella untapped, cast and resolve Borne, cast Timetwister, tap to copy Timetwister, hold priority and cast any second untapper and bolt/gut shot from hand. When the copy Timetwister resolves, your extra untapper and the damage spell will shuffle into the deck with an untapped Stella, Timetwister, and wisps still on the stack. Now you can keep digging and do it all over again so long as the original Timetwister never resolves. ... Alternatively you could just play a secondary win con like the twinflame/dualcaster combo you're already on. That works too.
I have a question about this line. When the copied timetwister resolves, doesn’t it shuffle cerulean wisp back in the deck? You’re still able to copy it to redraw your deck?
I won the other day with my budget stella with shore up + archmage emeritus, drawing my deck from magecraft triggers and then casting twisted fealty for lethal
I've been testing her and I think Twinflame is a great card on the deck, it can "give haste" to Stella by creating the copy and has a nice synergy if you have another non-legendary creature on the battlefield, you can pay the strive cost, target both that creature and Stella, copy it, create a hasty untapped copy of Stella and a copy of the other creature, and with the loop you can generate infinite hasty tokens
You did a great job already explaining things to upgrade the deck first with. Would be cool if you made a video fully on upgrading it to that cEDH deck. I just got the precon and I’m trying to get into cEDH cuz my boys play it and Stella looks so fun would be cool to hear what pieces are super super necessary and what pieces are luxury. Overall, such a great video tho!!
I think compared to Gutshot, Borne Upon a Wind is a better answer against Bowmaster on your combo turn, Since Stella can just activate on top of Bowmaster trigger to continue your draw. Then you can Borne for Twisted Fealty and win on top of all the bowmaster triggers. But the card might just make it into the deck because it costs 0 mana
Been enjoying this deck quite a bit. My build is not optimal because of the proxy rules at my LGS, but I can make tables scoop when I pop off. Only thing that this deck is weak against is Rule of Law effects. Any spell that limits your ability to cast spells each turn needs to be countered.
Love to see cEDH viable Commanders printed in precons. I hope MH3’s Commander decks will be along these same lines. Top notch quality content as always, Mr. Flannery!
Been testing Kari zev’s as a way to 6 mana win the game, cast Stella cast Kari zev give haste and then get to cast refocus or wisps ect for free and is your third spell to combo off. The biggest issue I’m finding, ironically, is having space for all the cards the deck could play. I’m completely off of brain freeze also and am on dualcaster combos. The brain freeze line feels bad and brain freeze doesn’t do much for the deck otherwise. I still play led and breach because they’re good. Dual caster i think overall is a “stronger” card than brain freeze outside of combo and using the molten dupe/twinflame stuff to get haste/go infinite isn’t bad. Definitely a commander that you can spend many hours refining and testing. Very Izzet.
How do you feel about this commander possibly getting the KOS status? A lot of people are talking about how fast it can be, which I think is going to warp play around it.
IMO you should be playing Crimson Wisps over Expedite. It lets you dodge Red Blast and Pyro Blast. Shore Up is nice because you can just kill someone who has no blockers. Personal Tutor is kinda nuts! I think you should include it. Stella's "secret" 1st ability lets you essentially draw the card right away.
Been on this since she was previewed had a deck ready to go prebuilt lmao, I absolutely love her as a former Niv-mizzet enthusiast she does everything I ever wanted Niv to do and more, while yes they are both functionally different decks, she does what Niv can do but faster and has more ways to win on an opponents turn, on top of their wins or bowmaster. Also you want to add a Manual storm style outlet, Displacer Kitten + Brass's Tunnel Grinder (also fuels breach if needed) I like this line also just slaps a table if you stick spell seeker with kitten. lmk if you want my crapshoot list also working on her still, I like the Tidal Bore idea may cut emeritas for that XD
I’ve been running her and she is amazing. I’ve been on Dramatic reversal with walking ballista which has been a great backup win line. Also Shore up goes infinite with Stella and makes her infinitely big. It’s really funny. She is an amazing commander and will definitely become a cedh staple.
Intuition lines are pretty nuts if you can copy your intuition first copy gets win conditions and second copy gets FoW, Fierce Guardianship, and Deflecting Swat. Hyper protected win.
I feel like you missed Shore up! it does the same thing that Tidal bore does but at 1cmc instead of 0 but in exchange it also can protect stella from removal or bounce.
Luckily comboing with the instant speed stuff doesn’t need to worry about bowmasters. You tap to make a copy of wisp. Resolve and draw. Bowmaster trigger on the stack, in response tap commander and draw. Since you have borne upon a wind you can win with all the bow master triggers on the stack. I think this deck will be more like rog/si. Decent in Swiss and worse in top 16 where people will be more willing to mull against it
For people who play archmage emeritus or storm kiln artist tidal bore can also turn into a draw your deck or infinite treasure combo. But I guess they're maybe to slow since the deck focuses more on speed than value engines like those two
I put ezone along with born upon a wind if your cutting it close mana wise while bowmaster is in play 1 mana crack it with all the bowmaster triggerson the stack get your 0 stuff into play and win from there with roughly 80 bowmaster triggers and original spell on stack
I love the deck but it’s hard to build because there’s different ways you can build the deck theme and still win in edh or cedh, I build the deck around, token spam spell burn, flashback/jumpstart mechanics.
I don't think Claim meets the brief. here's why: all that Claim is really doing is either giving Stella haste, *or* being used with Stella to get infinite storm count. it's not that either of these things are "bad" per se, just that there are countless ways to achieve the same thing using better, more versatile cards. additionally at a certain point, you reach diminishing returns with enablers for Stella. this is where the fine tuning comes into play, and where we'll have to see just how many enablers become standard for the deck.
@@syndicate5357 I mean... is that really what this deck wants to be doing? we don't run many creatures to begin with so the likelihood of 2+ Tymna draws seems low; casting Claim just to borrow a Tymna, gain 2 life, then lose 1 life and draw a card seems... not worth it? we don't have ways to abuse threaten effects so Claim doesn't really "handle" Tymna I just don't think it's that impactful; by all means play test it and let me know if it IS impactful... god knows I'm horrible at evaluating cards 😂

Birgi is an amazing outlet especially on the horn side when you've gotten the blown out. Flesh is great as a dockside copier, bowmasters copier and more

Flusterstorm and its copies BEFORE Flusterstorm is allowed to resolve and counter the Twitch or copy of Twitch, you then cast Tidal Bore to untap Stella. assuming your opponent is out of interaction, the stack will now be: 1. Twitch 2. copy of Twitch 3. Flusterstorm and copies 4. Tidal Bore Tidal Bore resolves and untaps Stella. then, *before the Flusterstorm copies are allowed to resolve*, you activate Stella again, targeting either the og Twitch or the copy of Twitch. at this point, here's the stack: 1. Twitch 2. copy of Twitch 3. Flusterstorm and copies 4. Stella Lee activation/another copy of Twitch #4 then resolves, untapping Stella and drawing a card. you then reactivate Stella targeting Twitch and repeat the process, drawing your entire deck. to clarify, Tidal Bore doesn't "protect" against Flusterstorm per se -- it just allows you to get another Stella activation on TOP of whatever piece of interaction is being used. hopefully that helps! I'm on mobile so sorry for any typos. :)
In the second hand you try, would you ever gamble for underworld breach? I haven't done the math, but if you can escape LED + gamble for brain freeze, you have a turn-2 kill. No protection whatsoever though, so maybe not good enough?

@@harryturner9201 In the situation you're describing, infinite mana isn't necessary. The cerulean wisps or whatever that draws your deck is already a win.
