How ANYONE can watch this time-honored tradition and not be humbled, respectful and grateful, is beyond me. Yet, many videos show that many attend and see it differently. They talk, laugh, cross barriers and generally feel the rules don't apply to "them". That's a real problem with today's society, the teaching and practicing of "respect" is being lost. But, so are values, traditions, honor and patriotism. Great video, thank you for sharing this. 🇺🇸

This one of the best if not the best Changing of the Guard on UA-cam. But do remember that the guards are there day and night, fair weather or bad. Storms of rain or snow, blizzards and hurricanes both.

I understand there's a high degree of honor, respect, commitment, etc., but isn't doing that during a hurricane too dangerous? You take one step, blow away, and nobody ever sees you again.

@@BennyLlama39Soldiers are not afraid of danger. They eat if for breakfast. Nothing about being a soldier is safe. War is not safe!
They only stop when the last unknown soldier is returned home. Sadly, that day will most likely never come as many of the soldiers that gave their lives during the first world war have unmarked graves..
What these guards show is real respect, bravery and honor! Something this world is seriously lacking these days.
Keep fighting the politicians that keep sending us to war(zones), but always respect and support the troops!

We took our three kids (15, 16 & 17 years old at the time), to the USA back in 2003.
We flew to Washington for a 4 night stay, then, by Acela Express train, on to New York (5 nights), then by the same train to Boston for another 5 night stay before returning to the UK.
It was a great education for our kids at the time. We went to Arlington Cemetery and saw the graves and memorials.
We made a point in going to this ceremony and thought everything was done very well.
Had a great stay and have been back since.
Best wishes from across the pond👍🤗

As a British Army veteran I have a great deal of respect and admiration for the honour guards that stand post. Traditionally all service men & women stand tall during these practices, we are all brothers and will never forget our fallen. It gives me an immense sense of pride watching this.
We learn this early on in our service years, lest we forget, no matter what country or what side, ever soldier remembers his duty to the ones who never got home.
    I look forward to one day being present at;

I remember when I came here with a tour guide who told me that every movement is also precisely calculated as well. I believe it was exactly 21 seconds walking across the mat, and exactly 21 seconds at each end turning, switching shoulders on the rifle, and preparing to walk. Not to mention each step being precise and every stop and heel click too.
And as such, when the changing of the guard comes on, it also comes on exactly synchronized with the previous post's motion. Seamless. So much respect for these guys.

This is respect to all veterans, MIA, retired, deceased, and otherwise.
This show of ceremony, and respect is one of the highest in military service. To be part of the honor guard is one thing, to be this is one of the highest of honors. The display, shows our values to our service members. It is unparalleled. It's all day and every day without room, for less than a perfect standard. it's a remembrance, honor, and gratitude for all those who have served, serve now, and will serve. This is sacred ritual. Thank you for all who serve now and before. For making my life and so many others possible. Without our military family America wouldn't exist, thank you all for you service, big or small, long or short. You make the hard choice to serve, put you lives in danger, and represent us, everyday, everywhere. For that I thank you.

Both of my daughter's, went to the east coast for two weeks during their 8th grade year. It's a wonderful trip kids in 7th and 8th grade can go to. It's not paid for by the school and costs a couple thousand dollars, by it's an amazing opportunity. Both of them were chosen to be part of this. As a family deeply affiliated with the military, it made me extremely proud, that my kids were allowed to be part of this beautiful ceremony.

You are welcome! I was in the Army in the 1970s, and the only buddy I've kept in touch with is suffering terribly with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He can now barely move a single finger... it's awful to see him that way. He had a great job and had just a few months to go to retirement, and now he gets fed from a stomach tube. Awful. I wish I could do something.

@@BobKovacs Honestly, I hope your buddy has access to, and uses CBD oil, or some similar preparation. There's a reason that PhRMA doesn't want you to know the TRUTH about CBD oil, and it's greed, and money.... Don't let the media hype fool you. Cannabis was in the "U.S. Pharmacopeia"{ until the early 1940's.
And no, I'm not talking about "smoke pot", or "smoke weed", or "smoke marijuana".
CBD, or "cannabidiol", and related alkaloids, are VERY helpful. The human body even has a Natural cannabidinoid system.
Like Genesis Chap. 1, Verse 29 says, ALL the plants were given to Man for food and medicine BY GOD.
When used correctly and carefully, CBD, and cannabis, can do wonders. But PhRMA doesn't want you to know the TRUTH...
ALS is one diagnosis that has shown a great response to CBD.... BEST WISHES!

THANK-YOU, Bob, for this video! I watched the whole thing very carefully. The best part was closely watching the expressions on the faces of the crowd when they appeared in the background.
I'm saddened, that SOME of the crowd seemed more interested in looking down at their devices, than watching the SKILL, PRECISION, TRAINING, and DEDICATION of the Guards....
