Since 1921 my friend. There’s going to be at least one mark. It shows how beautiful and repetitive it is, never once changed, never will change, unless drastic measures are needed. Semper Fi, Army Honor Guard.
I was privileged to visit Arlington in March. This devotion to duty in honoring these fallen heroes is one of the things that makes this country the greatest in the world.
If it's something to do with your uniform, you are usually allowed to deficiencies that can be fixed by your change Commander like something being crooked, anything more than that, or a dirty weapon and you get sent back
i was there last week with Honor flight.. and one of the guards slightly stumbled on his words.. what happens? i'm sure he is beating himself up about it.. BUT one of the vets we traveled with is a former guard and when asked what happens his response was "i wouldn't want to be him tonight" so leads one to ask what "opportunity for improvement" will he recieve?
What happens if he was sent back? Is there a replacement guard ready, in case the original guard doesn’t pass inspection? Was his coat not lying flat or something?
These guys are absolute machines. It literally goes as far as if there is even single thread out of place they are sent back in to fix it. Buttons have to be shined and facing the same direction, medals have to be equal distance apart. It's truly incredible the level of detail they go to
@@MikeJones__Whofrom the UK so no idea but agree the level of detail is prestigious 👌 love watching these inspection videos. Will he be spoken to about that little jacket straightening though? I’ve never seen the Srg Intervene before.
Return to the Quarters and very quickly come back out with the issue resolved. If for some reason the issue cannot be resolved, another Guard will be sent back up. You do three-minute dress drills as part of training, so someone could be dressed, bloused and out the door in five minutes.
The soldier would be disinterred, and the remains returned to his country, or buried in a cemetery dedicated to that country's fallen. I could be mistaken, but I would assume there would still be a respectful ceremony provided, as there's usually an honor among servicemembers of opposing forces when it comes to burials.
I've been to Arlington 3 times and have watched this every time. What they did here is what they did the last time I went, a silent and commandless ceremony. When they came to "pass on your orders", they lipped it. That part looked silly. I have no idea why they started doing it this way.
@@aquilifergroup No...that is a ridiculous internet myth. The only inspection in the Quarters is by the Relief Commander at the beginning of the shift. Before a walk, someone (usually a new man) blouses and then tapes you off.
The M14, which superseded the M1 Garand in 1957, is the standard ceremonial weapon used by the 3d U.S. Infantry (The Old Guard) today, and is the current weapon carried by Tomb Guards. They are fully functional.

think its all about discipline. Movements so drilled that they gotta be snappy and precise. Freedom is free. Choosing to handle deadly firearms for a living however, comes with a heavy price, one that will be paid at some point.

No and no, they do this regularly as practice because it’s all timing in their head, I have seen it a number of times

This is a different version than what I have regularly seen. No verbal commands and no pass down?
Silent Guard Change. Orders are passed on but very quietly.

This is not uncommon and I have seen it a few times, the sentinel is expected to have perfect appearance so the inspection is not just for show.
Perfect appearance to honor the unknown
Can someone please explain the gun butt flip?
