UPDATE: Do NOT stick the Skene dimmer in the cut out on the frame. There is no drain hole in the frame and your unit will short out. Cyclops does not recommend that anymore. Place it somewhere it will not sit in water.
Thank you!!!
Ben those lights look absolutely Sic! Nice job. I can’t wait for my T7 in the spring! Excited for sled season now!
Thanks Rich, me too!
Thanks man this was helpful. I’m putting the Pegasus ones on my T7 this evening.
Swank great install video my man!! Daryl, Brian and the boys @ Cyclops Adventure Sports definitely know how to light up our lives! 😁
Thanks! Haha they sure do!
Great video! I just picked up my t7 today.
Nice!!!
congrats! i have considered one and may buy in the future but i had to stick with the bike that i got out of hell with at least for now...
Col Sanders LOLZ
Thanks for making this video SC, diving into this project today and im grateful for your help!
Glad you found it, good luck!
Good clean wiring man. Well done. I really like the signal lights. I think the flash pattern will draw good attention to them.
Thanks Island ADV! I'm hoping so!
I am going for visibility after a lot of surgeries and wheelchair time. So in this setting I would chose the stock signal lights which I think aren't all that bad, since the headlights are circular too.
Others are gonna be hard to see when in car with all the other lights! And the auxiliary lights might give you more light in the turns but don't add up in coolness of the T7, I don't agree they look good next to the fender. (less is more)
hey ben! thanks for another great video man! im with you i want to go riding! With my new bike im absolutly itching to go riding! maybe its just me here in the middle of colorado. 6 degrees is a bit cold for a ride for me though.
thats why i planned on utah for apirl though :D
Love the lights. Well the bike is on the back burner for the moment. Maybe next spring. Can’t help it. Snow and sleds on the brain!!! Hoping for lows in the low 20’s and then 18” 3 days b4 thanksgiving!!!!
Same here, I was hoping to get out again but it's staying in the 30s here and we've already had some snow that came and went. Ordered some parts for my sled tonight and looking for a turbo 1100!
@@SwankyCatProductions really liking the looks of the Polaris Indy XC VR1. If you remember, I bought that zr6000 last season and offered it to you to try out. I ended up only putting 240mi on it. I need to chill for a season!!!!!!! UA-cam will be the END of me!!!! This year I AM gonna buy a set of scales so I can properly set up my suspension. I’m 250 and need to add some preload but every adjustment I tried to make last year totally screwed the sled. I love the way it handles so I’m thinking if I see where the weight is at now then I should be able to adjust everything to the same balance. Anyway, be god to hook up for a ride sometime. Good luck with the search. I’ll let you know if I see anything but chances are if I do you already will have given the area. Damn. I know absolutely nothing about that sled. Was 13 the last year they were made? Couple of those floating around. Looks like there’s one in big bend for $4500 I believe it was.
Good looking bike man!
Thanks Jimmy!
Great video ADV bikes and farm living is the life for me 👍 🐔
Thanks!
I love your Video Mam , Informative as well as funny too, apart from that I love you work
Thanks man I really appreciate that!
Love that they go where you point the tire . Definitely will add these when I finally get my Tenere back with no electrical issues . Wonder if doing any of this voids the warranty though ? I paid for 4 extra years because I thought it might be prudent with a new model bike . All I can say is that I am glad I didn't sell my DR650 .
Yeah I really like that. I like that they dim when you turn the high beam off too, pretty neat. I'm not sure about the warranty... I suppose I should have looked into that haha.
I love that rooster.
Love that look on your face when you were holding that wire harness. Had that same look many times. You see my new bike on Ron C’s video?
Haha yeah I make that face a lot. I'm actually watching it right now!
Great vid, thanks
Thabk you!
I have been looking at the Cyclops Aurora LED lights and the Denali D4s. Have you liked the Aurora?
Hi, great video. Question - this is a line from the website: "With the DRL option, You can also choose the cutout switch, this will disable the system, this works well with the DRL, allowing you the ability to turn the main aux lights off and run with only the DRL halo rings. " Can you think of a scenario when you turn the main aux lights off and run only the DRL halo rings? Cheers - Bob (enjoying your channel - good job)
Those look good Ben. Lots of work in one video. The tail tidy makes a world of difference. Once thing I cant figure out is how these bikes come stock with LED turns in Europe but are incandescent here in the US. KTM does the same. I think it is a US department of transportation thing. LED turns much better. I like the Auroras. Good stuff.
Thanks! Yeah I agree, I think the big plastic tails sections must be DOT regulations as well? Both are dumb rules lol the bike is much better off now I think haha.
Very helpful thx a lot!
Glad to hear it, thank you!
Will the light bracket work with the alt rider high fender kit and crash bars?
Hi. Can you take a picture or just write all details from relay? I'm not sure what Cyclops is using because on this YELLOW (hi beam) wire voltage drops down form 12V to 0.88V when you turn on hi beam. So normal relay doesn't work.
So much better with the fender
Agreed
first of all, those lights look great man! Second I might catch some flak for this and correct me if this isn't good idea but i have had a klr for a lot of miles and 6 years of doing this with no issues, in fact better results. As swanky mentioned the klr shakes all the bolts out so yea you have to locktite just about everything! While buying my umpteenth bottle of blue locktite for 7 dollars for a little bottle. An older gentleman that recognized me for buying locktite alone and so many of them. he had suggested that i go to the dollar store and buy nail polish. After having locktite fail on my thumper many times i found that the nail polish worked better! I haven't had any issues with any of the bolts i put nail polish on and the cheaper stuff worked better than the stuff i stole from my sister >.> shhh. So ya guys let me know if there is an issue i havent run across after extensive riding over 6 years using it. it seemed to do wonders for me and was only 1$ for double the amount of a 7$ bottle of locktite.
That's awesome!!! Unless there was a situation where it would react to a metal or finish (which I doubt) I don't see any issue at all. The only thing it does it harden up and stick to the threads so why not. As long is it holds I think it's a good idea!
@@SwankyCatProductions Thanks swanky. The biggest thing that i noticed and why i still use nail polish, was that once the blue loctite drys it seems to become hard and brittle. were as the cheap nail polish remained a little gummy and tacky, almost like a rubbery compound. So i think that helped with the vibrations. With the loctite once vibrated, would break the connections with the threads and the nail polish absorbed them. The connections that i had put loctite on, when they fell out, showed the blue on them letting me know that i had already dealt with that bolt. i never had a nail polish bolt come out but when i pulled them. None of the bolts were difficult and it was still a bit gummy. I also did not see any discoloration or signs that the bolt was affected by the nail polish, that and it took considerably less nail polish to ensure that the bolt didnt come out. also the glass bottle didnt pop because of altitude change or crashes like the little blue plastic loctite bottle did. I rode a lot of trails in colorado and have had many bottles of loctite pop or dry out in my bags and get all over everything due to elevation, but i have had the same bottle of blue nail polish in my bags for the last 4 years and it has been a go to on trails for 6 years that ive used it! Thanks again ben and if someone has evidence that this is bad practice then ill stop doing it but the results i have seen have been amazing and way cheaper!
Looking good man,how bout a pair of double take adv mirror to replace the stocks one
I'll wait till I break mine and then I'll get a set!
By this time we all might know what’s for dinner tonite...😁
Ha ha not quite yet. We have three rosters that we don't really want... I just don't have the heart to put them down lol.
Bike looks tuff
Thanks!
Great video! But can anyone help me with a link to the black bracket that holds the light? Thx 😊.

Hey man, great video, thanks for sharing!
One question, I bought some turn signals (that look identical to yours), but I have the adapter with 3 wires (plug and play) for the front and back. Will the break light turn on without the double barrel adapter?
Thanks! Nope you'll need to wire them into the brake circuit somehow. You should be able to use some splice connectors to connect one blinker to the other and then connect one line from them to the break circuit. Word of warning though, I almost got rear ended in broad daylight because these are so hard to see. I've since switched to these which are much brighter! ua-cam.com/video/1BBj8FdWqzw/v-deo.html
Thanks for your quick reply and thanks for the warning, unfortunately I bought them before watching your video...
Another question, now regarding to the front turn signals. Are they the same as the rear ones? Will I have to connect one of the wires elsewhere (so I can always have it on (with white light)), or do I just connect the three wires to the blinker socket?
Thank you for your help!
Cheers from Portugal!
I'm not sure if I missed it but where did you get the aux light mounting plate?
Its part of the aux light kit from Cyclops...not sure if they'll sell it separately or not.
question on the auroa lights did you added a dimmer but no switch confused on that on the website
I would just email them to make sure you get what you want, the site is confusing. Mine run at low power when on low beam and then power up to 100% when I flip the high beam on. I do have a switch for the aux lights themselves which cuts the power to them entirely (other then the amber rings) when the bike is on.
How do the auxiliary lights go from amber to white light?
They're actually always amber, it's a ring on the outside of the light. There's a switch that activates the normal part that actually does the eliminating.
Nice! =)
Thanks!
Would that light position interfere if you had crash bars that bridge the center? Especially when steering.
I want to say I've seen someone with both but the lights may have been mounted somewhere slightly different. I can't imagine it would work very well, seems like they'd interfere.
@@SwankyCatProductions Yeah I think so too. Maybe if it was only a single light in the middle it could still work. I like the idea of the light following the wheel.
Did I also miss the switch for those Cyclops lights? and its location?
I actually didn't end up using it really, it's just stuffed down under the tank so I could switch them off for the video lol.
Did I miss what the coiled up white wire was for?
I did leave that out. I guess it had something to do with adjusting the low beam setting on the dimmer. Cyclops just said not to mess with it haha.
cool kit, but i just don't think the blinkers grab enough attention, especially with the extra static lights on the front. great vid, fun time, but ima look for a different kit. cheers.
Yeah I can't say I blame you. I think they must be getting these from somewhere else and not making them themselves. If they did they would be much brighter lol
Can you use the cyclops amber halo as a turn signal?
You'd have to ask them to be sure... I think they share a ground with the rest of the circuit and I'm not sure how that would work with the flasher relay.
Hilarious!!!!@ Great video
Haha thanks!
And for dinner.... Coq Au Vin! 😆
What prompted your choice for the beak-fender, rather than the lower mounted fender?
Mostly the look but also to avoid mud and sticks from getting stuck up under the low fender.
@ Swanky Cat; In my experience of riding my bike, the beak gets contorted badly when I am riding at high speed in strong wind.
Not nice......
What gps and mount setup are you using?
I've got sort of a cobbled mess, I have part of a GoPro knuckle VHB taped to the back of the GPS and then am using a GoPro handlebar mount with some rubber in the clamp to make it fit the small diameter of the GPS bar.
Carbon monoxide , just saying unless you have converted your Tenere to running on air haha . Wouldn't that be nice .
Good Job kiddo
Thanks Longrider. How have you been?
@@SwankyCatProductions VG how is the family?
They are doing very well. Little guy is running around like crazy and very much enjoys sitting on my motorcycles and atv haha.
What abouts that white wire
It's a control wire or something like that and does not get used.
You should clean the lens' of each pod light . It's not good for the LED chip , it gets hotter when there's stuff on the lens .
Bikes really coming along nicely . Mine on the other hand ah not so much . ABS light issue again 30 miles after riding back from the dealership two weeks ago . Started the Tenere up yesterday and wanted to see if the light would go off . Instead after a couple minutes the bike started pulsing and the whole electrical system was failing . She just died . I was saying to myself hmm how wonderful this development is . Tried starting it but no go . Looks like a tow truck Tuesday and a ride back to the dealership . This should kill any fall plans of adventure on this motorcycle . My confidence in this particular motorcycle is waning , thought Yamaha had their s#!t together . Hopefully it gets solved and I go riding gently into the sunset with a smile .
Oh man that's not cool at all. I was pretty frustrated that I was broken and couldn't ride mine. If it was my bike and not me I think I'd actually have been more frustrated. Hopefully next year is better for you and me both!
to early in the morning by the sound of it. With the roosters
Bike is the cats meow
Haha thanks!
First
Why this model is 2021 if we still in 2020
I'm not sure, just getting closer to the start of 21 I guess?
🐓😂👍
Second lol 🤠🤙
Lights looks great. The TST tailntodybfor my CRF250L left a gap as well, I just cut a piece of foam board insulation to keep the water out.
Thanks Frank, that's a good idea!
