Something really hard for me , as someone who is so interested in witch craft is the fact I am unable to buy anything , so I feel I can’t be a witch as I’m not in the position, with funds , in order to buy needed materials
It's not pretend, whatsoever. Unless you really believe you will go flying on a broomstick. Witchcraft is connecting with nature and spirituality. Believing in spirits and demons, you can find certain gemstones at a wiccan shop or rock shop that can ward off bad spirits. For herbs, you can easily get dried leaves from your local grocery store, or go to an ace or home Depot with herb/plant seeds. You can maybe even go to your backyard and find some already naturally grown herbs.
You can work with certain deities/God's if that's the type of witchcraft you want to do. This witchcraft is more expensive and I'd save for later. This weekend I'm getting things to make an altar for Artemis so I can work with her. Some deities/gods might be calling to certain witches and they don't know, some deities/gods will probably not want to work with you either. This witchcraft should be spent wisely. You want to research a lot about it before jumping into it. When people refer to offering food or rocks, it's obviously not going to disappear, so it's nice to let it sit at the altar for some time, and use that item in your deities honor. Some deities require masturb.tion as an offering, but obviously some people don't enjoy that, meaning that deity might not be for you.

Call as in summon? Or name them? Usually the spirits already have names and it’s up to them to let you know how to call them/name them. If you mean summon, that definitely depends on each spirit but I suggest starting with a house or plant spirit or an ancestral spirit as those are going to be the ones around you most and make the most sense (think of it as a friend in your circle you may see daily vs a ‘larger’ spirit which could be likened to trying to call the president - just doesn’t make as much sense).
