I bought this Q2M after my Q-P. The Leica Q cameras are perfect for traveling, and I could always ask someone to take pictures for my family which I would never do on any of my M cameras.
Thanks 🙏 for your video! I’m already diving around a half year in UA-cam about Q2 and your review always great☝️and you mentioned something what no one mention before!!! Thanks one’s more again!
This was one of the most interesting and carefully presented reviews of the Q2M I have seen. Very, very helpful. I was particularly interested in your comments about the quality of the jpegs, as there has been some criticism of Leica jpeg output. Do you have any observations regarding the comparative quality of jpegs from Q2M versus black-and-white output from the regular Q2?
@Tony Adamis, thank you so much! I haven't done any side by side comparison with the regular Q2 so can't really comment much. I have a Q myself but probably not fair to compare the two as the Q2 Monochrome is much higher resolution. But i just find the b&w from the Q2 monochrome really sharp, even at high ISO, the JPGs still look pretty amazing to my eyes.
thank you so much Richard for this excellent review. I am really getting into monochrome photography with my panasonic S5 with the L monochrome D setting and really loving it....saving up for this leica monochrome only camera.....the images are stunning !!! (unfortunately its going to take quite some time to save up for this very expensive camera, an exercise in patience for sure !) zen billings in 🇨🇦
People are talking about the difference in noise comparing with the q2. Am I correct that this noise can be fixed in postproduction with Capture One? I still doubt in purchasing a q2 or a monochrome
This year I bought a Q2 and a Q3 and these two cameras have left me in a dilemma. Since I bought these two beauties, I have not used my CL, TL2, SL2, Canon EOS R or my Sigma FP-L. Am I trapped now? 😭😭😭😭😭
@@TheRealRichardWong Cheers Richard, I live in Dublin, Ireland where I do my street photography!! Come to Ireland where we can spring-board to Europe .
A paradox : Many years ago Intel produced a fast processor, but because of the commercial need to provide a a cheaper version , instead of spending time and money to design a cheaper version , all they did was to disengaged some of the circuity and sold cheaper the now less powerful processor. Enter Leica . They remove the colour filter from the Q2 and the resulting monochrome version sells for more than the colour Q2 ( which can still shoot BW . I am sure someone out there will point out that my comparison does not tell the whole story
excellent review well done one of the best ive seen on this camera. The presenter is knowledgable and clear .
Glad you liked it! Thank you
This video was such a treat. Thank you very much Richard! For me it was, actually is, very helpful in the decision process.

Editing Software can do magic to noise these days
If you aren't sure you want the monochrome get the color version.
Richard is that lens flaring @f1.7 with the lens hood on?
superb video and images!
Thank you very much Ulf!
Excellent review.
Thank you very much R G
I’m wondering if you made any large format prints while using this camera. If so, how do the look compared to like a darkroom print?
hi Edward, no i haven't sorry
I’d love to see Fuji do something like this (since I can’t afford the Leica).
I would love to see it too!
Excellent thanks
Thank you Phil!

No thanx, but a "QM" with Leica M-mount and a 9.5 mega dot EVF.
Get a SL2 with a M lens adapter
@@wilfredshum3703 Too big, too ugly, too expensive, too "Gucci" !
It's a shame that the price is jacked up to where only pros can justify the cost of doing business, as they can write off as a business expence.
Sorry, they are great, but the price is ridiculous.
some people have more money than sense, that's what this camera provides for
Why?
a joke.
