For anyone who is struggling with the infinite loop error, all you have to do is delete everything on your SD card and have your 3ds write data for home management again. Follow the instructions in this video exactly, if the data is malformed and or missing. Just go to data management and then software and the 3ds will prompt to repair the SD data. just follow this tutorial exactly and it'll work
Dude your tutorial for real was the best description, ANYONE who is doing what im doing lmao using pokebank and poke transporter ( do not transfer your Nintendo Id ) it will absolutely wipe everything and youll have to restart this process. If you bought your 3ds already moded and wanna change the mii character ( to yours) just edit it. When it asks for Nintendo Id simply just add a new one and it'll direct you to the one that was originally on that DS.

hi !! once you've installed the payload,, the extra data management buffers instead of going to the modded screen like yours did. do i try again? (delete then redownload the payload) i took the sd card out of my ds and nothing happens. if i try reinsert it, the buffering continues. what should i do?
@loapsyy_ yeah!!! It worked. I actually managed to do everything the same night. If you're having the same issue, just try to delete it and continue the same steps again until the black screen appears! Patience is key, and I did not have any of that when I wrote this comment. LOL
hey when you did this did you just uninstall python and mbat off your pc and try again? or do you need to like reset your 3DS? mine is doing the exact same on the extra data screen

Hi, enjoying the tutorial but I have a question. The root file I downloaded doesn’t have mset9.bat only mset9 so I used that and then when I reinsert it into my 3ds and go to extra data software title list just stays as a loading screen. Am I doing something wrong?

Did everything and it doesn't work. First of all, there is no mset9.bat for me, It's mset9 mset9.command and mset9. There's 2 just like that and if I click on either one it shows up the menu to press 1 enter and 1 enter or 1 enter and 2 to inject payload. But there isn't a mset9.bat. Second of all the last things in the sanity check has an [X] next to it. title.db import.db and error 10: all have the [X] next to it. I followed everything to the point of leaving the 3ds on and taking out the sd card then inject the payload and insert it back into the 3ds. When I inserted it back the same menu popped back up. Not like the black menu with all the words at 6:25 in the video. Plz HELP.
If you get a error then ofcourse it wont work. Look under the error. It says exactly what you need to do. And for the mset9 file. BAT is just a format. If you see that you have a mset9 with the format bat then thats the file you need to use

I'm at the Download Play step and whenever I try putting the Select, Down and L combination at the same time, it doesn't show Luma. I'm a bit loss because everything else worked.
Followed the tutorial, on my computer it only said mset9 not mset9.bat, then my ID0 didnt work (im playing on old 3ds so on the version you were using I pressed one) it said "You dont have 1ID0, you have 4!" I eventually fixed it with the troubleshooting guide. And everything was mostly fine up until it was time to download the h shop and other programs from homebrew. I pressed all the right buttons, but when it started downloading it just keeps saying "Error, Failed to install CIA file" and the summary is: Wrong argument (8). Did I do something wrong up until then? I may just be dumb and theres a step I mightve skipped a step. But I dont see anything in the trouble shooting. This is also my first time modding a 3ds so all help would be appreciated.
@RetroBoyy OK right. So I re-download everything from the description, put my SD card back in my 3ds, and opened back homebrew, but when I tried to download fbi, it was still saying the exact same thing. Also I did put the new cias files into the old folder that had the files I deleted.

Awesome video, but now I'm on an old 2ds and I download a game from the homebrew updater and it doesn't show up in the homebrew launcher nor the home screen, NDS files and I also tried to install an NDS emulator via the updater but it's not showing up either

When I moved the files to my SD card, I was told some of the properties of those files couldn't be transferred. apparently it's because my sd card is formatted to fat32 (which another tutorial told me to do). Can i still proceed with the rest of the instructions?
What if we already have a Mii created? Does that change anything at all? Brand new SDHC 32GB SD card, followed the steps perfectly, but where you reinsert the SD card and its supposed to go to the boot menu, that didn't happen for me.

What firm backup? It was supposed to launch the luma installer. You installed mset9, put it back into your 3ds and then it powered off instead of opening the luma installer like in the tutorial?
Ngl i was skeptical but fallowed along to a T ( be sure you get all the files downloaded my pc blocked the config a few times had to change settings) but after fallowing we are modded on the 3ds xl with everything ready to go
So I got all the steps down, got all greens in the batch file, put it in the 3ds, and the MicroSD doesn't want to load. It's just stuck loading. The card is good, so idk why it isn't loading it
Make sure its fat 32. Might also be too big or something. If nothing works you will have to try another sd card. Might just not be supported by the 3ds
@@plushbendy I let the SD sit out of the turned off 3ds for a few minutes. Then, I restarted and did the steps slowly. I swear I did it right before, but it seems like giving the 3ds time to breath helped

@@Remedygotitno! Watch this entire video. If your sd card is more than 32gb you have to format it with a tool like i did in this video. The tutorial worked fine for me up until 8:58, FBI just refuses to install any of the cia files, it gives me an error along the lines of 'invalid state (5)' and I can't seem to fix it

Fastest way is to delete the Nintendo 3ds folder inside of the sd card, put it into the 3ds, wait a little so it can make files then retry the test

Delete all files from the cias folder and reinstall. They might be corrupted

I got to there mii maker step and there was no trigger for a download? maybe because I have a 3ds XL but I don't think that should matter

I did everything correctly all the way before you took out the sd to remove the mset9 file. my 3ds powers on but shows a white light on the right corner
Powers on? Did you turn it off before taking put the sd card?
I didn’t turn it off, it was downloading the firm backup but then it’s powered off
What firm backup? It was supposed to launch the luma installer. You installed mset9, put it back into your 3ds and then it powered off instead of opening the luma installer like in the tutorial?

Then you did something wrong. Retry everything from the turorial
Ngl i was skeptical but fallowed along to a T ( be sure you get all the files downloaded my pc blocked the config a few times had to change settings) but after fallowing we are modded on the 3ds xl with everything ready to go
So I got all the steps down, got all greens in the batch file, put it in the 3ds, and the MicroSD doesn't want to load. It's just stuck loading. The card is good, so idk why it isn't loading it
Make sure its fat 32. Might also be too big or something. If nothing works you will have to try another sd card. Might just not be supported by the 3ds

@@plushbendy I let the SD sit out of the turned off 3ds for a few minutes. Then, I restarted and did the steps slowly. I swear I did it right before, but it seems like giving the 3ds time to breath helped
idk what’s going on my pc wont let me copy the files from root and put them on the sd the mouse icon just has a red circle icon and won’t let it outside the screen

When i get to the mset9 part and i press one and hit enter it says error 07 you dont have 1 ID0 in your Nintendo 3ds folder you have 3 ID0 (s)
Delete the nintendo 3ds folder. Plug your sd card back into your 3ds and try the tutorial again from the start
@@RetroBoyy I made it to 6:24 and while trying to re insert my sd card to 3ds it like popped in and out twice because i didnt push it all the way in then it just kept loading so i restarted it and its as if its not reading the data on the 3ds

@@RetroBoyy I got it fixed but question if i wanted to upgrade to a bigger storage SD card can i just copy every thing from the other SD card to new one and it should be seamless right ?
@@Remedygotitno! Watch this entire video. If your sd card is more than 32gb you have to format it with a tool like i did in this video. If its 32gb or under then you have to just format it to fat32 in the settings on your pc.
