Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMORPG experience. Our world structure is dynamic, and built to react to your actions. Cities will rise and fall as you shape the world of Verra. Quests and secrets will unlock as populations gather and their needs grow. Whatever skills that they don't want with the archetypes or classes they will probably put in skills books that you can pick up from monsters, shops, or make them parts of rewards for quests in Aches of Creation.

I like how the spell effects are the right balance of flashy and simple, makes them look a lot more impressive when you are in a large group because there wont be a big blinding spell effect from one mage you will actually be able to see multiple spell casts from different people at the same time

Won't know till i try it , but im going fighter main , and debating tank, fighter or mage secondary.
Mage figher is also appealing

They need to make this games have a long drawn out leveling process. Leveling should be difficult and take time so you learn and master your class. In EQ you would level with people for days and week only to gain a few levels and it was great.
It’s said 250-300 hours to hit max level

Historically I'm a Fighter/Warrior guy but the Mage, Ranger, Cleric and Bard are light years ahead of the Fighter in terms of fluidity and function. The Tank looks decent but could also use some work in My opinion.
Fighter will hopefully look better throughout Alpha 2 :D

Do you have special new skills for the unlocked class or is it just a combination of the 2 base classes? I guess it's like throne and liberty where you combine the 2 active and passive skills and can choose which ones to use? For me i have the same issue for both T&L and Ashes, it's really hard to get excited about tab targeted combat...

I'm curious if they will implement any dots...especially for the warlock class or will it be a hybrid of the summoner?
I believe the mage has a few burning dots, but nothing like a WoW warlock, or rogue poisons yet

@@RitchieSH same along with Bard possibly. I enjoy ranged dps or heals so I'm not stuck just looking at the feet of a large raid boss

Is there any difference between a Sorcerer with Bard as main class and one with Mage?
Two different names, the mage bard would lean heavily on the mage base class and be primary dps while the bard as a the primary would still be a support first and potentially have additional dps augments

The spell effects look great but somehow the character model and movement looks so weird and low-effort.
Animations and character models are all WIP, they plan to use MOCAP with character animations that should help with that down the road
in this game everything looks to slow
it looks a bit too simple tbh
Mages in general are typically easier classes to master, but once Augments, and secondary archetypes are thrown in, hopefully its a bit more complex
