Team Ruger was in town for the Zombies in the Heartland 3-Gun Match and came to the studio to discuss cold hammer forging barrels and firearm design. I am an avid Ruger fan. Countless pistols and rifles are in our gun cases proudly. We bought a little purple SR-22 for my youngest daughter to shoot, and some of my favorites are our GP100 in .357, M77 MKII in 25-06 and 7 Rem Mag, my American Predator in .243, and last but not least my Hawkeye LRT in 6.5 PRC. I would say half of my gun collection are Rugers and still have a few on the want list. My next ones will be a 16" SFAR in .308 so i can surpress it and not be unwieldily and the carbine in 45. Thanks guys for coming on the show and taking about what y'all do.
Got a Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5mm Creedmoor that is, hands down, the best shooting rifle I’ve ever owned. Thanks to Ruger for a great product!

Ruger has made so many products I love. The American is the most fun you can get for your buck. The Precision Rifle contributed heavily to the scaling up of long distance precision shooting. And on and on. Love Ruger products.
Have had a lot of Ruger’s over the last 30+ years, love their M77’s. Especially 204 Ruger VT model, until burnt out the barrel.

My first gun was a ruger 10/22, I love as much today as the day I got it, lots of friends and family have learned on the gun, thousands of rounds have go through it.
This one needs more views. I wasn’t expecting to hear about the barrel work but it’s a good hot topic. Especially in gas guns
I still have my first pistol, Security Six.
I have been long suggesting to anyone who will listen , take advantage of the faster twist rates for heavy for caliber hunting bullets. The two places I have started seeing it is that one Australian company that is renowned in Africa and that American company who offers only 3 designs but are also renowned in Africa. Both are offering very similar solid designs . One is capped one is not. I think Hornady should take that basic form and make it into a lead core protected point expander . In the same length as a .224 75 grain eld or old A max , you can make a 100+ grain bullet. Using super-formance propellant, you could easily get 2750 fps from a 5.56 with 20 inch barrel. Alot of folks won't ever be able to utilize a hunting bullet made for 400 yards and further , but most of us could use one that has a high sectional density and high weight for caliber with moderate b.c. to use out to 300-500 yards, cartidge depending .

My go to hunting rifle is the Ruger Hawkeye hunter in 300 rcm that I purchased in 2009. Sorry that that round did not achieve the popularity it should have. But I have reloaded for over Fifty years and stocked up on 300 rcm brass.
Another great show, I'm enjoying these guests from other companies. Lucky enough to have a Ruger/Marlin 1895 Trapper (45-70). My first lever gun and it is a pleasure to shoot and so much fun at the range. I've been using the two Hornady Leverevolution loads while I build up my brass supply, both good rounds and I will be reloading with the 325 gr FTX
I love Ruger and Hornady. Killed my biggest whitetail with my dad's Ruger M77 built in 81. My first handgun was a Ruger SBH 10.5" 44. Traded it through a SBH 4 ⅝, then a SRH Alaskan 44, now a SBH 7 ½. Craig Boddington made me fall in love with the No. 1 and I love mine in .375 H&H. As for Hornady, my Service Rifle sees nothing but Hornady 75BTHPs and ELD-Ms.
Another great, informative interview…first weapon I bought was a Ruger Single six in early 80’s.
That is one reason that tikka and Ruger Americans are known to shoot so well. Chf.

There out there. I picked up a left hand American in 6.5 Creedmoor for my boy.

I hope Ruger continues to support the lefthanded shooter in the rifles they offer, and increases the product offering as well (ie - stainless versions and more options)

Good show, it would be interesting to tour the plant to see how a firearm is made from start to finish.
Here's an idea for a great podcast.
Reloaders need to know what the "True Data" is for the humidity percentage number or the minimum and maximum numbers are for powders and should be kept in while open and exposed in the loading area. Also storage short and long-term.
Reloaders have been talking about this for the last few years now. Some folks are starting to notice that some of the issues with velocity are humidity related.
Starting to become something that should be a exact control point for loads.
Please get us some "True Data" numbers from the powder manufacturers that maintains the REAL reloading data for the velocities in the manuals.
The Basic store in a " Dry And Cool Place" isn't cutting it anymore !
Wow, I have been to Grand Island, NE about 5 or 6 times in the last 14 years, the most interesting thing I saw there was the Kool Aid Museum, I feel ripped off now.🤦♂

I have to disagree on the Americans being in cartridges for anyone.
No Roberts 6.5x55 7x57 250/3000 etc etc.
Still waiting on the precision in 06.
I do like Rugers though.. Have or had a good number of them.

i have had good and bad ruger firearms but the worst one was the ruger sr762. i love my sr556 but the 308/ar10 version was total garbage. thing pierced primers almost every shot, sent it to ruger and they said they fixed it but nope still pierced primers so i pawned it.
One of the things to improve is to get on topic faster. The intro is enough to put me to sleep, so I miss the rest of the vid.
20 years ago, yes, once a Ruger fan and owner of 3 rifles, but now I am a Ruger hater. Short-cuts and poor QA along with killing the Ruger 77/22 and Marlin 60 means that CZ and others get my business from now on. No more Ruger.
Ruger has always been a 'spray and pray' kinda manufacturer. Pretty much send it out to world and if it comes back we will deal with it kinda attitude. Seems to be working for them.
Never ever buy and revolver nor a bolt action rifle without inspecting the actual item in person.
Just need to realize different manufacurers employ different strategies so one can make informed decisions on what to purchase from who...
Having said all this, I must admit ruger factory barrels are the best in factory category, even better than some so called custom barrel makers out there
