I shoot a 6,5 PRC as hunting and sporting caliber in a Ruger Precision Rifle here Germany. I dont mind the weight as my hunting is from a high stand for safety reasons (angle toward the ground) only and the walk to that is seldom more than half a Kilometer. I need a minimum of 6,5 mm bullet diameter and the 6,5 PRC compliments my 6,5 Grendel. Great Podcast as always. Greetings from Germany 🍀👋🏻.
Seth, you said it, and I agree. I "HAVE ALL THREE". working on load test/development on the 6.5 this weekend. All my PRCs have two load solutions; one for a CX and one for either the ELDX or Berger VLD.
I had bought both the 300prc and the 6.5prc in anticipation of the 7. The 300 is definitely Thor's hammer! With a little weight and the right muzzle brake, the recoil is very manageable. Im currently working up a load for the Barnes 208gr LRX bullet but would love to try the 190CX. With that being said, the 6.5 is my baby. Its everything I want. In fact I will probably build a 2nd rifle in that caliber. The 147gr ELD-M has been devastating on everything Ive shot. Looking forward to a 7prc build for a friend very soon. Thank you for your continued work and development on these new cartridges and these high BC bullets. Its making long range shooting easier for the average person.
Loving the 300 PRC. Got mine in a heavy barrel with a chassis and a 50cal style break. Shooting 220 grain eldx and has about 2/3rds the recoil of my tikka tx3 308 hunting rifle. Not great to stalk with but bought as a long range plinker. But I also don't mind setting up and taking a deer either
The 300 PRC with a muzzle break is Thor's Hammer with manageable recoil. For me the 300 PRC does it all for hunting from brown bear to elk to deer. No such thing as too dead. However if I need a light rifle that I need to carry long distances and I am not concerned about dangerous game, 7mm PRC all day long. I am so glad Hornady invented the PRC line. The three PRC calibers is like to going the garage and pulling out the right modern vehicle for the job, car, SUV, pickup truck. I am having so much fun shooting the 300 PRC Begara HMR I have now. Once your scope is zeroed and your ballistics is dialed in, it is like cheating the shooting is so easy. Thank you for the PRC lineup.
I run short barrels on 5 of my guns. Remington XP-100, in 7mm RSAUM (17.5” bbl; 162 ELDX @ 2850 fps), 30 Nosler (18.5” bbl; 210’s @ 2825 fps). The 7mm PRC is the one I’m likely to do next in a rifle with at least a 24”-26” bbl, or the 6.5 PRC in an XP-100 with a 17.5”-18.5” bbl As much as I like the 300 PRC, I’ve got a custom 300 RUM that leaves the 300 PRC in the dust, but it’s a custom chamber that basically fixes the issues with the SAAMI chamber. Nice podcast. Keep up the good work. No need to run faster powders for shorter barrels either (well documented by handgun hunters/shooters over the past decades).
Why choose 6.5 prc over 7 prc when hunting? I'd go towards 6.5 prc for target and shorter stroke, but if everything is almost the same the 7mm prc feels like a true all capable carriage.
Thanks for this Hornady Podcast. It was interesting to hear the perspectives from each of you. My cartridge proposal would be something along the lines of similar velocity to the 6.5 creedmoor in 7mm option. I have heard people doing a 7-6.5 PRC wildcat, but it would be nice to have a factory option. I also think it would appeal to those who don’t think 6.5 is enough, but also want something with a bit less recoil.
I fell in love with the .300 PRC I got two of them both with brakes the HMR is a factory muzzle break the other has. Salmon River muzzle brake. It's on a wilderness Ridge about 1.5 lb lighter than the other and my grandson loves shooting it as recoil is reduced by +90%.
Great podcast once again. Its great to listen to other people's experiences , options and for sight . 22inch 7PRC could be the winner for me . ....... My 25PRC is like lighting with the 134 Hornady Eldm !!!
I shoot the 6.5 PRC. It groups the ELDX a little better than the 147 match bullet. I hunt with the match bullet-it just works near and far. Thanks Hornady where would we be without y’all!
Thanks guys for an excellent and entertaining discussion. One thing I would like to have heard you mention would be the optic/reticle choice on your personal rifles.
Per the podcast request. Please neck the 6.5 down to 6mm PRC to create the ultimate Midwest coyote/deer combo. Also neck the 7 PRC down to 25 for a Western Laser Beam and up to 338 for an All Around Alaskan Cartridge (focused on 225 CX and 230 ELD-X). Also I will use this platform to continue to plead for the reintroduction and support of the RCM cartridges 😊
You don't pay attention to Hornady much if you think they're in the business of just necking down cartridges to be fast and overbore. You can find those already as well.
For my purposes here in Alberta, and I've hunted BC a lot, the 6.5 would do fine, a 7 would too, but, a either would have to be in a carefully built gun with the right stock on it. The stock makes more difference than most people would ever believe, design and material it is built in matter. Can't have suppressors here, no use for a brake, so it'll be a 24" bbl either way. I'm not running out and buying a PRC, don't need it, I have used 7-08 on everything up to moose, had 7RM's and a 338WM and 450-400NE, still have a 300H&H too. The go to now is a 30R Blaser, will test out a 6.5CM,, the 7-08 and the 300 are there, if I want to use them
I'd like to suggest barrel contours and dimensions as a topic for a podcast, specifically the question of what barrel contour do you need as you move up in cartridge size? The Remington Varmint/Sendero (Proof Sendero Light) is very popular, but has a very short shank which may not be ideal for large magnum cartridges like the 300 PRC. We've seen issues in testing carbon fiber barrels with these larger and more powerful cartridges. I notice that Proof no longer offers barrels in Sendero Light contour longer than 22" for 7mm and up. What's your recommendation on barrel contours and material for larger, more powerful cartridges like the 300 PRC, 300 NM, etc?
If you're a one gun kinda hunter, go with the 7 PRC. You might be a little over gunned for some things and maybe a little under gunned for other things, but it'll do the job for most things. If you want 2 things, pick up the 6.5 and the 300
32:15 When your talking about action lengths, I really thought the 6.5 was absolutely maxing out what could fit in the "Short" action, and then the 7 was doing the same thing in the "Long" action, while the 300 was actually using a "Magnum" length action?? Am I misunderstanding them length wise??
I bought a Fierce 7PRC and it’s shot great so far. Haven’t shot it past 300 yards yet though. I’m starting to have some serious questions about Horbady’s stated box velocities. There are a lot of people out there showing 150-200 fps lower than what Hornady says it should be shooting. Very concerning
@@ChronicalsofAlI watched a guy shooting 180 ELDM out of a 22” barrel and getting like 2775-2780 fps. 22” should knock off a little but not that much obviously.
@@masone4589 I don't know man, as I haven't dealt with any of the PRC 's. The only one that has any appeal for me is the 6.5 . I am concerned about the fact that you have a company that has developed the cartridge, who can squash it's competitors (6.8 western), who makes the ammo, who makes (and pretty much controls) reloading equipment and has as many govt. connections as Hornady
26 inch you will get that extra speed. If its a light weight stalking hunting setup that 150 loss in speed is very little to worry about. If your trying long range target shooting then it is important but you would get a bigger barrel anyway
One advantage of the 7mm PRC when building custom is its shorter COAL than the 300. I built my 7PRC on a CIP length system. In a standard 3.75" max CIP magazine, the 300PRC can't quite get the 230/250A-Tips or 205gr Bulldozer boattails to the neck/shoulder junction and still mag feed. It has the throat for it, but the magazine is the limiting factor. The 7mm PRC feeds just fine from CIP-length magazines and has enough freebore to pull a 195 EOL or 190A-Tip all the way out for optimum seating for a COAL of 3.54" to the lands with the 195gr Berger. My 190 load does 2875fps from a 24" Proof CF and could definately go hotter.
Great discussion 👍 I just bought a 6.5 prc barreled action for a precision build. I did about 3 months of arduous due diligence for making the decision. I have a 300 WinMag, 7mm Rem Mag as my "big guns". With the choices in factory loads and especially with developing hand loads, both of them will do anything I want to do, at the cost of recoil. I want to get into the LR target arena and I just didn't feel like my 25.06, 22.250, 7.08, or.308 win were capable of being competitive even with load development. There's just not a selection of really high performance projectiles and with the case limitations, I figured I should get something made for the task. Would it be fun to have a 25cal prc? Sure, but it's basically a 6mm and we've already been there and done that. A 270 also occupies an in between area plus with the 270wsm, what you don't like about the regular 270 can be achieved. It would be cool if better projectiles for some of the existing calibers were developed, that would be fun, but I get it ; for the cost of R&D you probably would never make the money back or they would be cost prohibitive for the consumer. I think you guys did exactly what should have been done, by taking 3 popular and common rounds and working them to the endth degree 🤙 Thanks again!
225 eldm out of my 300 prc going 3000 fps(26” barrel loaded with max load of lrt off hodgdon 1-8” twist) flatter than the 180 eldm going the same muzzle velocity. Checked with 4dof. With a 7 prc you just need a 30” barrel to hit box posted velocities. It’s sad to see that the 7 prc doesn’t hit advertised velocities. Will you add the 6.8 western, you mentioned the .277 prc as an option, it would just be a remake of it.
I shot the 180 ELDM factory 2975 22 inch barrel, 2810 avg. Pretty sad. Im gonna handload so think it will do better. I love my 300 but with 26 inch barrel an suppressor its a field gun lol
@JosephWilhoit-ef6nl I figured Federal would do better as it most likely is loaded with RL26 when I get gun back I'm going go try a box. The terminal ascent remind me of the old Interbond bullets which I loved but better BC. I'm still gonna hand load but wanna try out of curiosity. It'll be 18 inches but I bet it'll do better than Hornady with 22 inches
Great video, love yalls podcasts. I guess my only question, right now Hornady has a factory hot rod in the 7RM, (that I have) with the 139 gr SST at 3240 MV, any thought to adding that weight to the 7 PRC, then that would truly cover everything from groundhogs to elephants lol in the 7 PRC. Thanks again for doing these podcasts.
I already had a 6.5 creedmore and a 300 win mag. Didn't own anything in 7mm so the choice was easy. 7PRC. It is likely I will own all three eventually.
I have all three. 300 PRC is just magical, mine and all my buds that have one all shoot lights whether they are factory rifles or customs. The 7PRC has a ton of promise just haven’t shot it much. 300 with a brake is easy recoil but the 7 with a break is very low recoil.
Might not be enough who agree, but for my part I would love to see the RCMs modernized and revived as part of the PRC family. But great job with what you've already done.
The RCM's are based off the same 375 Ruger case and utilize the same basic modern designs as the PRC line. The 6.5 PRC is a 300 RCM necked down. The RCM's are very well balanced rounds.
I think Judd and I have the same issue. See if you can get a 7 mm with the recoil and ballistic similar to a 280 Ackley improved. Maybe use the 65 PRC case
All the PRCs not just these three lol. I would love to see .338 PRC be the middle ground between 338 win mag and 338 Lapua. Shooting a 250 grain plus CX would be awesome.
That discussion at around 31:30 about mass vs velocity and momentum is a fact for sure. Shoot 1 mile in 30 knot crosswinds and you’ll be shocked how true it is.
I’m most impressed with the 6.5prc. I own a 6.5 and 7. The 7 would be great if it easily did what was claimed (3000fps) but I’m at 2835 with a max load of h1000 with a 175gr bullet. I’m honestly more impressed with my 280ai. 300prc I see zero advantage over a 300wm for hunting. Just my honest opinion.
I’m interested what length barrel you have on that 7prc?

That’s why I’m scared about getting a seven PRC. This is what I constantly hear about is the performance is not 3000 at all. I really want a seven in my arsenal and I was hoping seven PRC was gonna fit the bill. I plan on running a 20 inch or a 22 inch what barrel length are you running buddy I need to know lol.
I love my 300, put a can on it and it is a baby. Just purchased a 7 interested to see how it does always been a 30 cal guy. I shot the 7 through Chrono an at 6.5lbs its got plenty of recoil. Was disappointed in 2810 when its suppose to be 2975, 22 inch barrel so don't think it would have lost that much in 2 inches.
The performance that people get out of the PRC line in short barrels is impressive as well. A 6.5 PRC in a 16.5 inch is impressive considering the less than ideal barrel length.
Whats happened with hornady and there not being crimped tight enough my last case had so many that were separated and had so much gun powder all over in the boxs.that hurt so ive been target shooting with fiochi and hurts couse i started with hornady and now even my holows arnt hornady maybe somday ill spend my money and check them out again .
I went with the 7mm PRC with a 22" barrel. I chose it for versatility. From pronghorn to brown bear, I think this could do it. Are there better choices at those extremes? Sure. But is there a better choice for doing ALL of that? I doubt it. I haven't shot anything but paper with it yet. Shot some of the Precision Hunter but I have a box of Outfitter I want to try. I would love to see a 25 PRC! (In a true short action, rather than the almost-short action of the 6.5") Something like that might put my 25-06 out to pasture. And maybe I'll get a 375 Ruger for that brown bear.
I love the 6.5 PRC but struggle with the crap Hornady brass primer pockets. I have taken a break from it for awhile. Load development trying to get good velocity was killing brass in 2nd loading. If i loaded for brass life i was basically shooting my Creedmoor. Also the Hornady 140 OTM is a more accurate bullet than the eldx or m imho.
I absolutely love my 6mm PRC and I would love it if Hornady adopted it and started making some factory ammo for it. In my experience, it can do everything that a 6.5 PRC can do within about 1000 yards (at my high mountain altitude anyway) but has much less recoil which allows for better follow ups and shoots extremely flat which helps with any ranging errors. I've taken coyote and elk with it, nothing has required more than 1 shot with a 110 grain Hornady Atip traveling at 3340 fps or a Cutting Edge MTH 88gr at 3630.
@@zachperrego2362 Even IF they did it would likely be so scarce it would be unattainable.. I don’t know how many comments on 6 ARC I’ve read of people not even being able to get reloading components for a long time. From my understanding not the first time Hornady developed cartridges and the end user got hosed on having an unusable firearm..
@lanejohnson7656 Oh I totally agree, but they asked in the video what cartridge I'd like to see support for so I answered, but I know it's most likely not gonna happen
Hornady adopted the 22 and 6mm Creedmoor which gives adequate performance and is less over bore than using the PRC case for those bore diameters. A .338 caliber round able to utilize the longest and highest BC bullets is the only gap at this point.
I think the 6.5 is the best all around hunting round of the three. Short action for a light rifle, least recoil, and basically 270 (or better performance. That’s a winning combo. I also think a 7mm on the 6.5 case would be cool. And maybe a 338 on the 300 case.
I want a to buy a 300 prc I’ve been shooting a 7mm mag for the last 5 years and have no complaints but I would love to get a 30. Cal magnum. I hunt Alberta mule deer and Elk in the prairies and some of the mule bucks are easily 300+ pounds and it’s not uncommon to shoot 500+ yards so to have that extra payload of a 30. Sounds really nice
A 6.8 PRC / 270 PRC would be interesting. Lets face it 6.8 Western got stuck in the mud somehow (to hard to find). You can do it, your not afraid of Winchester now are you 😉 Good luck 👍
What is the difference between ELD-m and V Match ammo, maybe you can deep dive into the different match grade ammo you sell. Also curious what is the difference between say, Hornady match brass, Lapua, Petersen and Alpha brass. How does Hornady brass compare to those other brands of brass.
@@reptilesgamers00hard to say! 277 fury has a high psi we never see in regular cartridges so it’s velocities aren’t especially comparable with others. They say it performs like a traditional 270 but with a 16” barrel. I’m guessing a 6.8 western doesn’t do that, but also designed for different bullets and again, lower psi too.
So I'm a beginner looking to get my first hunting rifle, I intend to spend a lot - because I only want to get one rifle & one excellent scope to last me as long as possible (something along the lines of a Benelli Lupo BEST bolt action, or a Sako S20 Hunter or if I can save enough, a Sako 90 Adventure - and I intend to spend at least $1500 on the scope (Canadian funds, so that's like $8 US, lol). I intend to eventually hunt deer or elk in Alberta or British Columbia, likely ~200 meters or less at first. Since I also need to get good at shooting the rifle & finding out what ammo it likes, I thought 30-06 makes the most sense - the ammo isn't too expensive & it works great at longer distances (realistically, I'm told, ~400yds). Why I'm considering a PRC: I also want to get good at shooting some longer range targets - I'm guessing ~500yds, maybe more, whatever range, rancher or farmer can accommodate that here in eastern Canada. I don't mind recoil, but I'd rather ensure accuracy than to cause huge effect. I believe 300WM & therefore 300PRC to be too strong for what I'm planning, and I think both 308 and 6.5CM to be a bit weaker than what I need. Yes, they take deer just fine - but I want to test my limits at distances. I'm wide open for advice. I fell in love with the stats on the 6.5PRC - it's my first choice. It seemed to do all the things a 30-06 does, but is better at longer ranges & yields ~25% less recoil . I collected all the data I could - ft/lbs at 100,200,300,400,500,600 yards, same with velocity/FPS, windage, inches of drop, etc. It's simply better - but the ammo costs, good djeeziss. It seems like an outdoor range that limits rifles to 308, as they often do (suppressors are illegal here, don't even get me started....), if my rifle isn't much louder than a 308, maybe 6.5PRC would be welcome? If I *do* get a 6.5PRC and suffer through the ammo costs - what do I gain (other than like 1000 ft/lbs of muzzle energy) by opting for a 7PRC? Are deer within 200yds & targets within 500yds really an argument for 7PRC? The 6.5 PRC seems to be the new & improved 30-06. The 7PRC seems to be the new & improved 300WM. The 300PRC seems like an anti-tank round. I'm pretty strong/stocky so I don't mind recoil - but I want it to be accurate recoil. I thought this was all gonna be so easy - pick a 30-06 you like & go to the range....but nope, PRC rounds came out & now I'm in a trance.
I love my 6.8 spc. The 120 sst absolutely SMACKs under 300 yards. However, it’d be awesome to get more distance with the same bullet diameter. The reason the Grendel and 6arc perform better at distance is that they have the long, high bc bullets. The spc came out right before that took off. So my challenge is this: a high bc 6.8 sst packed into a creedmoor case, as an option for ar10 platform as well as bolt guns. It would essentially be a 6.5 cm necked up to 6.8 but would probably punch harder for any naysayers to the 6.5 effectiveness on deer. The 6.8 western missed the mark by having a larger case diameter, so it isn’t applicable to the ar platform.
@z987k I'd never heard of 338rcm, so I appreciate the info. I think hornady making a similar cartridge designed around high BC bullets would be an awesome do all hunting rifle.
That's more or less impossible in a 338 caliber. High BC 338 bullets start up at 275-300gr. In order to push those, you need a long action or more. Even a 33 nosler doesn't really have the capacity to shoot high bc 338s. You need to step up to the 100gr+ case capacity to shoot those. So... 338lapua, 338 norma. The 338rcm was a ballistic twin to the 338-06. You can still find rifles chambered in both, but 338rcm brass more or less doesn't exist and factory ammo is long gone. It's pretty easy to make 338-06 brass. But high BC bullets it cannot push.
I dont need either for hunting, the 450 bush is ideal in my state but i think the 300 prc is my favorite, i have a couple places you can go out to a mile and that ammo is not that expensive for how large a round it is
@@Westerner_ I wish it was more popular. I’d like one in a short action. Like a 7mm in the 6.5 prc case. Then I found out there is a dead cartridge called the 284 Winchester that would be perfect.
338 RCM 338 Weatherby RPM (no belt) 8.5x55 Blaser 33 Nosler If you want to stay below the 338 Norma or 338 Lapua. And in the belted division. 340 Weatherby 338-378 Weatherby
The 6.5prc and 270win are ballistic twins. If your 270 can't shoot the heavies, maybe look at one of the new browning or winchester fast twist 270wins.
@z987k .. we all know that Hornady is the bully of the bullet industry.. if they didn't invent the 6.8 western, they said they will not support the caliber.. you know what this means. If you don't buy our PRC's we will take our ball and go home... if you don't play by our rules and do what we say, we'll extort you. Now take that bloody nose home.
I stopped by your booth at the dsc show and had a question and the gentleman at the booth didn’t have an answer for me. I’m curious what the minimum expansion threshold velocity is on the bore driver eldx projectile.
Why have yall continued to keep the .532” measurement at the Webb/.200” of the case? This has cause clickers since the 6.5 PRC and had cause many to get modified reamers with the Webb being .535”.
I'm waiting for 7PRC options in my country (come on Howa!!). Still not available. 300PRC is awesome if you really wanna hit hard at long range like for hunting, but if you're just gonna ring steel and hunt at ethical ranges, the 7 PRC makes more sense to me.

No need to run faster powders for shorter barrels either (well documented by handgun hunters/shooters over the past decades).

Thanks guys. This is a big help. I need a seven and 300 PRC.
I love 300 PRC! If you don’t own a magnum 30 cal that’s the cartridge to go with!
yeah, I already have a 300 Weatherby, so I bought the 7mm PRC
For my purposes here in Alberta, and I've hunted BC a lot, the 6.5 would do fine, a 7 would too, but, a either would have to be in a carefully built gun with the right stock on it. The stock makes more difference than most people would ever believe, design and material it is built in matter. Can't have suppressors here, no use for a brake, so it'll be a 24" bbl either way. I'm not running out and buying a PRC, don't need it, I have used 7-08 on everything up to moose, had 7RM's and a 338WM and 450-400NE, still have a 300H&H too. The go to now is a 30R Blaser, will test out a 6.5CM,, the 7-08 and the 300 are there, if I want to use them
I have a savage tactical desert in 6.5 prc and i love it. I kind of want to build a 300 prc now.
Hornady, do you have the proper powder back in the 7 PRC?
If you want 2 things, pick up the 6.5 and the 300
There is nothing in North America you are under gunned with a 7prc.
Barrel length
@@ChronicalsofAlI watched a guy shooting 180 ELDM out of a 22” barrel and getting like 2775-2780 fps. 22” should knock off a little but not that much obviously.
@@masone4589 I don't know man, as I haven't dealt with any of the PRC 's. The only one that has any appeal for me is the 6.5 . I am concerned about the fact that you have a company that has developed the cartridge, who can squash it's competitors (6.8 western), who makes the ammo, who makes (and pretty much controls) reloading equipment and has as many govt. connections as Hornady
The federal ammo does produce very near 3k.
You can also load your own and reach 3k.
Are there more PRC calibers coming? .338 PRC? A modern .338 would be great.
When are you guys coming out with the 45-70 PRC 👍🏽
Hah!
Love it.
Surely for rats-in-the-shed scenarios only.
Australia!
I am a big fan of the 300PRC.
The 7mm prc will hit 3,000 have already got 3,020 with 170 terminal ascent Hornady ammo u gonna get 2,850 I do not like Hornady ammo or bullets
I have the aero precision solus rifle in 6.5 prc and boy oh boy does that thing hammer like none other.
The 6.5 is amazing for hunting deer in the open spaces of Montana!
Mind blowing how many of yall are pleading for cartridges that already exist.
I think Judd and I have the same issue. See if you can get a 7 mm with the recoil and ballistic similar to a 280 Ackley improved. Maybe use the 65 PRC case
This is what I want, followed by something that can fit between the 338 win and 338 lapua with a 300 grain bullet.
🤔 It is worth considering! 😎
🤔 Maybe, Horneday Can Eventually Support the 7mm PRCW for Target Shooting and the 7mm prc for Hunting? 🤷♂️
Why not just go buy a 280ai? Or get a barrel spun up?
🤠 That is the Next Cartridge on My Purchase List, Actually! 🥳
🤠 I Feel the Same Way About the 280 AI (and 270 Winchester)! However, the 6.5 prc and 7mm prc are still very "Sensible" Cartridges! 🥳
22” no way I’m ever going to hit 3000fps with a 175. Not with h1000 and hornady brass that for sure.
@@mattc6015 22” seekins element.
Another excellent podcast, thanks fellas. 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿
Would love to see a 25 prc
Thanks for listening
The performance that people get out of the PRC line in short barrels is impressive as well. A 6.5 PRC in a 16.5 inch is impressive considering the less than ideal barrel length.
Love your podcast ❤
Whats happened with hornady and there not being crimped tight enough my last case had so many that were separated and had so much gun powder all over in the boxs.that hurt so ive been target shooting with fiochi and hurts couse i started with hornady and now even my holows arnt hornady maybe somday ill spend my money and check them out again .
Oh man I got a 7 PRC MPR Christensen. I love it. Its my first Magnum Rifle. All my other rifles are 308 win and lower.
Your two guests both said they had "gotten rid" of their 7mm Rem Mag rifles. What was their reason for that?
I’m looking forward to a VT loading for the PRC’s
I know 300 prc is 300 win mag but modernized. Now modernize 50 bmg
A 338 PRC would be great.
That would be awesome! Might as well make it a 35 PRC for African safari game 😂
@@jeffwilliams3436 anything below 375 is illlegal for African dangerous game
Something along the lines of a 22PRC would be great fun.
Cant wait for my 7PRC to show up at my local gun store.
Short action, least recoil, I live in TX, the 6.5 PRC does everything I need and then some.
Try Lapua if it’s available . I’m on my fourth 6.5 PRC loading running H 1000 Fed 210 primer
300= one ton truck, 7=3/4 ton truck, and the 6.5= a 1/2 ton truck.
From china. The velocities suck.
But they are all still trucks that can deliver a load
22LR = bicycle
You would love if Hornady adopted the 6 PRC? Who do you think developed it?? Lol
@lanejohnson7656 They designed the case yea, but 6mmPRC is still a wildcat and I'd love to see factory ammo for it
@@zachperrego2362 Even IF they did it would likely be so scarce it would be unattainable..
I'd like to see a 33 prc.
What about any thing with a 277 prc cartridge
I want a to buy a 300 prc I’ve been shooting a 7mm mag for the last 5 years and have no complaints but I would love to get a 30. Cal magnum. I hunt Alberta mule deer and Elk in the prairies and some of the mule bucks are easily 300+ pounds and it’s not uncommon to shoot 500+ yards so to have that extra payload of a 30. Sounds really nice
338 PRC probably is the best choice to expand the PRC line in my humble opinion.
You guys pick some great topics. I'm stuck between 7 and 3.
🤔
7
both
I still like 280 Ackley Improved....such low recoil and really gets out there
That's my choice as well.
Have a 7 prc, it is definately the sweet spot. Do it all, everyday, all day long. Love it
Nice!!
You guys should cover 300prc vs 300wsm
A 6.8 PRC / 270 PRC would be interesting.
Lets face it 6.8 Western got stuck in the mud somehow (to hard to find).
You can do it, your not afraid of Winchester now are you 😉
Good luck 👍
For me the 300 PRC, as I have all reloading equipment…
But a 7 would also be nice… maybe when one of those barrels are through.
Maybe its time for some bookends for the lineup. Id like to see a .50 PRC and a .22 PRFC ( precision rim-fire cartridge) 😂
What is the difference between ELD-m and V Match ammo, maybe you can deep dive into the different match grade ammo you sell. Also curious what is the difference between say, Hornady match brass, Lapua, Petersen and Alpha brass. How does Hornady brass compare to those other brands of brass.
My vote for the next PRC would be .338. Please!!!!! And I wont ask for anything for Christmas for the next decade…
Would love a .277 prc. I've been a huge .270 fan for years.
It’s literally a 6.8 western
@aaronpudlicki7418 Yes it is and that's why they will never do it.
270 wsm went nowhere so no.
@@aaronpudlicki7418if that's true. Is that similar performance to the militarys 277 fury?
I thought this was all gonna be so easy - pick a 30-06 you like & go to the range....but nope, PRC rounds came out & now I'm in a trance.
i have a Seekins HAVAK Element i'd sell ya in 300PRC.
Just select ALL of them, like I did!😁 but if only 1, its the 7PRC all day!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
❤my 300prc..... VERY VERY accurate when paired with 5-50 '56mm or 4 - 40 thermal ......
..!
277 furry
375 PRC…. Hahahahahahaha! Just kidding, I actually listened to all the episodes!
Id love to see another short action, preferably a 7. However a 338 in a short action could also be very interesting.
So another 338rcm?
I dont need either for hunting, the 450 bush is ideal in my state but i think the 300 prc is my favorite, i have a couple places you can go out to a mile and that ammo is not that expensive for how large a round it is
So basically moral of the podcast, if your having trouble deciding which PRC you want just go with a 30-06 😂

I have a question about powder selection for the 6.5 PRC to keep the velocity up in the 2900 to 3000 fps range. What is your choice H1000 or RL26?
My Ruger likes LRT 140gr. My son's CZ likes Magpro 147gr.
Would definitely love to see a .277 PRC, I’m currently debating on what to do. Get 7mm PRC and keep my .270 or get a 6.5prc but get rid of my .270.
