My first impressions: 1) From what you show and describe here, it sounds like it is clearly a step up from typical IYVs and Firefly’s in terms of build quality and fit and finish. Having said that, I’m not sure how it compares to the latest generation of FFTL’s. 2) It’s difficult to tell just from pictures, but those pickups do NOT look as wide as a real Fender Wide Range Humbucker. FUN FACT: The original Fender WR Humbuckers had to be wider than Gibson humbuckers, because they needed a lot more winds than PAF humbucker bobbins could hold in order to make up for the relative weakness of the CuNiFe magnets. Seth Lover used CuNiFe mainly because AlNiCo is very brittle and thus impossible to cut threads into to make screws, and he wanted to make pole pieces that were themselves magnets (in keeping with Fender tradition), while also making them adjustable like a Gibson humbucker. I’m not sure exactly what the specs are on these pickups, but whatever they are, they definitely sound like they do a credible job of getting in that sonic ballpark of Fender WR-type humbuckers.
Hey PG…as always, thanks for watching and commenting my friend. Yes, I am pretty familiar with Seth’s journey with both his PAF work for Gibson and his subsequent work with Fender. I am not certain on the pups either, but from Eart they are suppose to be “wide-range” using Alnico 5’s. As we know, CuNiFe is nearly impossible to find now, and if found, costs are increasingly prohibitive in most guitars. I am quite happy with the tone on this…truly appreciate your stopping in and sharing your insight! 🙏👍

This brand is really putting the screws on Squier.
Hi 3 Card Monty….Well, you can see/hear why! Lot’s more competition these days in that market. This is a truly enjoyable guitar that has features you just couldn’t find in the past as this price point! Thanks so very much for watching and sharing! Much appreciated! 🎸👍
It's pronounced "urdy"
Hi basedghostcoasttocoast…thanks for watching and commenting. “Urdy” huh….? Hmmm…1st time hearing that…appreciate your stopping into the channel and sharing your thoughts. Regardless of how its pronounced, it’s a great little Tele…😎
Thanks much…🙏🎸👍
