Freaking awesome sweet 4teck honestly I think people underestimate the 2.5 and 3.3 Traxxas engines. Yeah they’re not super high-performance engines but they are still great engines even better when you take care of them properly. They might not have the best power band, but they still get the job done great.
I know what you mean bro, this may not be a real 3.3 model and it’s got an orange chassis, but it’s still a truly sickening 1/10 scale Nitro and you know we need lots more of those.
Ayo ! This video is dope. Man, that nitro 4-tec has a better paint job then my daily driver plus the color is not too bad! Someone took their time on that paint job ...
I love my 4tecs. If you want more speed change out the rear wheel pulley to the newer rear pulley for that 70+ mph. You will also need to change out the rear belt.
You are correct about the original bodys being hard to find..well, actually you can find them but the asking price is more then what I gave for the entire car..they are going for Hundreds. Ill just stay with my tubbed out 57chevy Belair body..it looks sick on the 4tec chassis..
Congrats on a n amazing vintage icon piece brother. It’s one of the 1st onroad cars I seen that I got me hooked. I too got it from a second hand. Wasn’t running due to a strip screw on one of the rear axle yokes making it difficult for the previous owner to diagnose but now it is running fine 👍
what s up my fellow NItroGang brother!! I see your point on the Ford RS color scheme, kinda of makes sense now, lol... More on this thing soon, I have glued the tires now, haha!!
Super video👍👍so cool I hope to find a Nitro 4 Tec, just picked up a T-Maxx the other day, I know its not a 4 Tec but still cool...your 4 Tec is awesome!!! Great video💯
What’s up man, thanks for checking out the Sickening Nitro video. A chassis protector sticker is not a bad idea, I was thinking something like that also, would be a shame to scratch up the awesome orange color.
I have an original 4 Tec also have not ran it in 15 plus years , it was not abused drive it maybe 5 times. Do you think it will still crank up after all these years?
hey dude! Glad to hear you're trying to burn some nitro! Thats what this channel is all about. I would say 100% chance the engine is seized due to long term storage (including the carb). I have many vids on this channel on how to free the engine up, you just need heat and some oil. not a bad idea to remove the head and inspect it and oil it up too. The heat (from a heat gun) will help the engine spin over. Also wash your fuel system with water and soap.
So jjst wanted to ad that the older .15 and 2.5 models have closer gear ratio and smaller pulleys cars Will only see 56-59mph usually due to maxing gears before maxing 3.3 out However on a track the older chassis is quicker Wanna go faster change second spur gear and front two pulleys out But the 2.5 is the better chassis over the 3.3 imo because short gearing makes it closer to a tc3 or rs4 2 Also rich is good on tuning but I woukd lean it a little cause I’m sure your running 20 percent bones at 12 percent oil or another random fuel with 16 percent either way that’s a lot of oil more nitro more cooling more oil more heat dirt bikes are 60-1 so a nitro with that ratio is like 10-1 a lot of oil just my two cents cause I can run custom 30/6 or 20/8 leaner than 30/12 or 20/16 and only rebuild race engines every 2-3 gallons instead of every 1-2 Rtr engines also like fuel not oil so lean it 1/4 turn on high speed and 1/8 on low trust me that engine will love you forever since cooling head temp is always lower than block near the bearings you don’t want to see 260 on the head and realize your block is at 280 and stretched risking internal failure
Hey if your interested in vintage nitros I have a cen ctr5.0 that i might be interested in selling it comes with original 5.0 motor but comes with a dynamite .28 big reg installed it come with many original parts still in packaging the only thing I don’t have is the original body or the crystal type transmitter let me know if this is something you might’ve interested in purchasing it runs perfectly the dynamite big red hasn’t been broken in yet I can take pictures of the car and all the parts
hey dude! Im sorry I dont remember at this point anymore. I'll look for this magazine and will follow up with you. thanks for checking out this video .
@@hybrid32494 hey no worries watch a lot of your stuff but usually when live I’m sleeping or working so I miss out a lot of the times…anyway I know it was car of the year and featured in the October 1998 or 1999 edition I think 98, however reason I ask is that one had a custom done body for the mag and yours shows it’s true glory of having a original body I’m on my 9th restoration/upgrade project 4tec but this one is the only .15 version I have so figure be cool to display both issues of the mag with the car once I’m done and don’t get me started in the nitro tc3 lol besides serpent onroad cars the tc3 always is welcome in my home 5 electric versions including two full team kits with period correct electronics on display and 16 nitro versions including 1 side exhaust FT with picco .12 and three rear exhaust FT all fitted with nivarossi .12 only because these are the ones I use to race before nitro sedan died in my area now it’s made it’s way back sorta but I’m not dropping $900 plus on a kit and another $500 plus on a engine just to come in last these guys are fast now Anyway I’m ranting now appreciate the response my guy keep doing what you do
I remember buying the 2.5 4-tec after weeks and weeks of saving! I still have the thing too, maybe I'll run it one of these weekends!
Great video. I kind of like that orange chassis. Can't wait to see some speed runs!
thank bro!! I've glued the tires and we are ready to ROLL!!

Yeah they’re not super high-performance engines but they are still great engines even better when you take care of them properly. Still need a nitro 4Tec myself. Only one I’m missing haha.
I know what you mean bro, this may not be a real 3.3 model and it’s got an orange chassis, but it’s still a truly sickening 1/10 scale Nitro and you know we need lots more of those.
Do they still have parts for these?
Put the shock preload spacers on it to reduce chassis scrapes!
hey bro! Yes, you're totally right with this good advice! I've since added some extra pre-load to the back, it's much better now.
Ayo ! This video is dope. Man, that nitro 4-tec has a better paint job then my daily driver plus the color is not too bad! Someone took their time on that paint job ...

My dad got this in 2006 as his first rc and he passed it down to me and went to electric because I love nitro gang🎉 3:51
I actually really love that orange coloured chassis, looks like the Ford RS Focus colour scheme. 😊
Niiiiiiiiiiice video my dude.😊😊
what s up my fellow NItroGang brother!! I see your point on the Ford RS color scheme, kinda of makes sense now, lol... More on this thing soon, I have glued the tires now, haha!!
Slow motion for me. Sickening video bud wish traxxas still made these. Is the primer bulb cap aftermarket? Thats a nice feature
Super video👍👍so cool I hope to find a Nitro 4 Tec, just picked up a T-Maxx the other day, I know its not a 4 Tec but still cool...your 4 Tec is awesome!!! Great video💯
I just got a really nice Cen Genesis 4.6.
Another awesome video, keep up the great work
Great little test! that wheel wanted to move! it!
Use to have one. Man I wish I still had it lol
same.... same..
Great vid bro I just brought one of ebay bro your video very informative bro
Great video hybrid!
Ngl the orange painted chassis is pretty sick
Hell ya the exact video I’ve been waiting for!!
Great road rc bro i got 3 of them now manged to get two running great bud
The video I’ve been waiting on man 🔥🔥 finally I have two of these in my personal collection
Those are sweet cars your lucky to have two, I'm gonna try to find one, may take a while but will be worth the hunt...
Another awesome nitro!!
I'm not a car guy but that may change soon
i really hope someday Traxxas reput this model on market !!!!! TWO SPEED BABY !!!! p.s sorry if my english suck lol im from Montréal Québec !!!!!
That’s cool I wish they still sold that car or came out with a new kinda updated model
Nice video. Wish mine would have gone through yesterday but the guy ghosted me. Atleast I know more from your video. But I might just buy a Jato.
Sickening Traxxas👍Might want to get a chassis protector or make one from a sheet of vinyl to reduce scratches
What’s up man, thanks for checking out the Sickening Nitro video. A chassis protector sticker is not a bad idea, I was thinking something like that also, would be a shame to scratch up the awesome orange color.
I'm trying to fit a .26 in a 4tec mount issue need information about it nwo!!!!! Help
Love my 4tech!!!!
I have an original 4 Tec also have not ran it in 15 plus years , it was not abused drive it maybe 5 times. Do you think it will still crank up after all these years?

I dig the orange chassis 🤘🏻🤘🏻😎
What’s crazy is the rustler was just slightly faster with a smaller engine and single speed
Anne 2WD more efficient and bigger wheels act like tall gearing
I’m still looking for a 4 tec
I have a nitro rustler with same fuel tank + primer cap
Know where to find parts for the v2 version? Got a roller and can't find parts
You can get a chassis protector for it
I gotta get one
Nitros make great again
Thank you man, yeah you know how it is on this channel I will go to any length to make a vintage nitrile great again, more on this one soon
I need help with adjusting the brakes
make the nitro 4tec great again
Totally yes!! Agree. Also let’s try to build up so much Nitro 4tecc sickening video Content that Traxxas is forced to re-release it once again.
@hybrid32494 it's my favorite nitro rc that I have. They definitely need to re release it
So jjst wanted to ad that the older .15 and 2.5 models have closer gear ratio and smaller pulleys cars
Will only see 56-59mph usually due to maxing gears before maxing 3.3 out
However on a track the older chassis is quicker
Wanna go faster change second spur gear and front two pulleys out
But the 2.5 is the better chassis over the 3.3 imo because short gearing makes it closer to a tc3 or rs4 2
Also rich is good on tuning but I woukd lean it a little cause I’m sure your running 20 percent bones at 12 percent oil or another random fuel with 16 percent either way that’s a lot of oil more nitro more cooling more oil more heat dirt bikes are 60-1 so a nitro with that ratio is like 10-1 a lot of oil just my two cents cause I can run custom 30/6 or 20/8 leaner than 30/12 or 20/16 and only rebuild race engines every 2-3 gallons instead of every 1-2
Rtr engines also like fuel not oil so lean it 1/4 turn on high speed and 1/8 on low trust me that engine will love you forever since cooling head temp is always lower than block near the bearings you don’t want to see 260 on the head and realize your block is at 280 and stretched risking internal failure
🤩👍👍👍🏁
Nice. I had a nitro 4tec years ago. I converted it to brushless.

The chassis is powder coated not paint
i have a brane new never run 3.3 4tec
What issue is that October 99
hey dude! Im sorry I dont remember at this point anymore. I'll look for this magazine and will follow up with you. thanks for checking out this video .

nitro world order lmao
ebay has the original bodies buy it now for $590! wtf my brother gave me his mint 2,5 from 1998 now I don't want to run it its too valuable to crash!
