I'm Janet from Wisconsin and I wanted to give you a hint about cooking bacon is if you line the bottom of it with bread and I just dropped the bacon right on top of the bread or on a little rack the Bread soaked up all the bacon grease and you can use that to feed birds. Or Make great croutons

I made homemade Giardienara, using an Italian recipe and it used just vinegar. But, when it is served you would then add some olive oil to it. That might make the other jar taste better.

Well, after listening to your live the other day while cleaning up after dinner, I now know shat Giardienara is, and I tealised I've had that, probably many many times in my life snd just never knew what it was called...and it never occured to me to ask anyone or to find out 😂. It's pretty good. I can now imagine how delicious it is added to that sandwhich :)

Chicago Italian beef is sliced and topped with an oil based Giardiniera not a pickled one. That is the one you should use on your sandwich! Not sure what recipe Jeff saw but Chicago beef doesn’t have onions either at least not that I have ever eaten!
