  • More than 10 years in the making, the Las Vegas Boulevard Improvement Project was a 125-million-dollar project in which the construction lasted three years. It is the largest Public Works project the city of Las Vegas has ever taken on. The project’s goal was to widen and improve a 2.5 mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard from Sahara Avenue to Stewart Avenue.
In addition, 15 neon signs from 1940s, 50s, and 60s motels and casinos were refurbished and installed along the median from south of Oakey Boulevard to just north of Washington Avenue. The installation of these signs was to celebrate vintage Vegas history, beautify the roadway and create a neon trail from the Gateway arches all the way to the Neon Museum.
