Every transit project in Toronto is a money laundering pit full of corruption! I can't imagine this level of incompetence in a (so called) 1st world rich country! Forget London, Tokyo, Paris, SHanghai etc. you should do a video on the Delhi Metro and how it has progressed in around only 20 years of existence! A developing country with tons of issues and over 1.4 Billion population would put Toronto transit projects to shame!!
Yeahh brooo definitely not to mention Mumbai metro and also Tehran metro a nation under heavy sanctions now has a network of underground metros 100 stations and 150 km of underground track since 1998! We aren’t talkin something as old as the 50s
@@VAPOURIZE100 Happens when the government is only worried about the sexual orientation of people and busy promoting everything that's woke and anti science & common sense!
If I were Premier of Ontario not only would I be pushing linking this line to the airport but but I’d also push for the extension of Line 6 to both the airport and Yonge Street.
Someone please, please explain to me why this extension is almost entirely underground when the road is so wide. This needs to open, yes. But not underground!
I prefer it underground. The tunnels are done, so it's going to be underground. While it costs more, it makes the line faster and its warmer in bad weather.
@@youbetcha6880 you actually are correct. It would be a lot cheaper than building tunnels but then we are talking about Metrolinx. Both the Finch West and Crosstown LRT's should have been open by now!
One problem I have with the Eglington LRT is that the east section is not grade separated so it will slow down the entire rest of the line which was grade separated making all that tunneling and elevated track useless in terms of frequency since all the trams will be stuck in the east waiting for cars. I hope they find a way to solve this but I doubt it.
Likely eastbound trains alternate between destinations: some full distance to Kennedy and others short-turning at Yonge or Mt Pleasant to head back west again.
Not one of the 5 LRT lines that have been started or continued in the last 8 years is operational. Each new line that is started has a price tag of at least double per km of the previous line. The Eglington West is currently a about 674 million per kilometer and the eglingotn east LRT is over one billion dollars per kilometer. and nether of them are up or running. Its likely they may not be operational til the endo f the year given legal issues by the thrid prty contractor. That seems to be a baked in part of the strategy by the government. Ensure that the project issues guarantee that the parties go to court to skim the creak off he project cake and ensure the third party contractors get their bonus from the government. WHile its not a kickback it feels like it is a deliberate part of the over all process. All five lines are currently in court and the results could be tens of millions of extra dollars being paid out.
Your videos and content is getting better. This video is great!
Appreciate it.

It's just too logical isn't it?
If they also extend line 6 to Pearson, they can turn line 5 and line 6 into just one line (line 5) and making Pearson crucial connection point
I get what your saying but that would lead to confusion.
@ they could always keep them separate lines but that would require a useless transfer. Just make it the Line 5 Eglinton-Finch
It would be nice if they actually could get this built like now. Doug Ford loves highways not public transit.
Too true.
The Ontario government is even worse at actually building highways than it is at building transit.

It initially should have been , but, Doug ford lives in Etobicoke. And we all know how he feels about cars...

I agree with that.

because Ford and some of his wealthier supporters live along the stretch of and didn't want that in their back yard

Aren’t they finished the tunnelling? I remember seeing that somewhere.

It is more ridiculous than people realize.
paid out from tax payer's pockets!
This LRT has the most over-engineered and ugliest overhead catenary wire system ever.
