Propoganda + strong personality+ desire for '"success" = Chanel's LBD, et al.. Thanks for articulating your studies?/interests so nicely! Hipe other young folk are smart enough to be feeling you. Much love!
How neat! I'm working on a wardrobe refinement/adjustment, and the ideas of building a wardrobe around key pieces seems both very modern, and yet so timeless! Also, I love the pictures in those old magazines so much!
Loved the Video!! I love Linen in the Spring/Summer but hate the wrinkles. I once had an older lady tell me that it looks better worn that way. Never heard that before!!!!!! Would love to see some of your Clothes you wear daily :-)
Did you make the beige jacket you are wearing in the third part of the video? Just asking because I really like the style and would like to make a similar one if I can.
How many ppl in the world do you think can afford to do this? Women were more serious about the home than they are now. I used to be able to change three 3x a day, but honestly, it's tiring. If I know I'm going to be seen in public, I put something on that is acceptable for me.
That's why most women would wear a housecoat or overall type dress around the house, a day dress for basic shopping and going to appointments and something special for social calls. These magazines are like the Instagram of their time. Aspirational AF and representing an ideal rather than reality. My grandmother was the most glamorous and put together person I have ever known, but she never changed three times a day. She was very chic in public but she wasn't going to be in a smart outfit for cleaning the oven
I love the slinky evening gowns of the 1930s, worn by the well-to-do.
