@helenf7738 Yeahh I'm ngl, when I wrote the text it was basing off of videos I'd seen previously with subtitles for the backing vocals and from what i could find online (The lyrics are from the God of War 2 Main Titles, the motif itself is from the Great Sword Bridge of Athena from GOW1). I was knew there was a chance something wasn't going to be accurate, either subtitle text or meaning, so I tried to give a quick look before making my comment. I think the scene is perfect how it is, although i also expected TC Carson, there's nothing really that The Ghost of Sparta could say to the God of Hope and Savior of Ragnarök.
I honestly also love the detail of lighting the scene. When Kratos enters the room, all the light is focused on the Greek Kratos, because he's the topic of the conversation. The moment Norse Kratos starts to think of doing more, that light starts to shift away from the Greek Kratos. And when Norse Kratos starts to talk about placing himself in service of others, and bringing hope to the Realms, the light is completely focused on him. It's a nice way to show that Kratos really understands now what Gods should be like, and that he has to accept his past to do it. Santa Monica Studios, masters of their craft...
It's also beautiful how the light in the beginning when on Norse Kratos shows his white-colored skin. The Ghost of Sparta. But when he sits on the throne, the warm light makes him look like his skin is back to its original Greek colors before he was made into a monster. The Ghost of Sparta is no more, now sits the God of Hope.
I suspect we all tensed when past Kratos moved his arm down and stared into Kratos eyes. Throughout the massive tale of the past two games, despite some knowing his story, no one in Midgard truly appreciates how dangerous past Kratos was, except Kratos himself and the player.

That despite all the mistakes he’s made, the times he’s suffered, he’s found friends family & a place where he belongs. Here he is, a changed man and guardian rather than destroyer. The reason Kratos’ legend is so well known and often times thought to be exaggerated because up until that point, killing another god was almost unheard of. Kratos was the first mortal to ever kill a god and soon after, an ENTIRE pantheon. There is a reason he was feared and thought to be a myth.
I like to think that at the beginning kratos himself is even scared of his younger self that’s why he’s so far away and the more he accepts what he did and who he is he moves closer

3:47 for some reason is where I felt the most emotional. Helps that this is my favorite part of the theme, but the emotion of it all coinciding with Kratos finding comfort in sitting on the throne makes it all the more heartwarming
This scene generally summaries Kratos entire growth, how far he has come and how much he has change. I remember young Kratos's first instinct to seeing his much yunger self was to beat the crap out of him
It may have been Valhalla that helped Kratos find answers.. But I think his theme for the conclusion is perfect because at the end if the day HE had to be the one to come to terms with his past: slaying the undeserving, his arrogance, everything. Even so much as apologizing to an imaginary Helios which back then would have been totally out of character for him. At the end of the day we all must make the choice to better ourselves, or continue an otherwise unproductive/destructive way of life. What a great series.

In many ways, we all embody Kratos. Each of us harbors vengeance, abides by our own creeds, and, if endowed with omnipotent power, might risk annihilating the world. The ‘God of War’ saga has imparted a profound lesson to me, underscoring that hope is humanity’s most sublime gift. It warns against succumbing to greed, for in doing so, we risk morphing into a figure akin to Kratos-consumed by avarice and vengeance. Yet, the journey of Kratos teaches us that redemption is within reach. By confronting and overcoming our inner demons, much like Kratos does, we can transmute our basest impulses into a force for positive change. This narrative, although unfolding within the confines of a video game, poses a deeply philosophical inquiry. It eloquently illustrates how, amidst our darkest trials, hope remains an indomitable beacon. In my view, the creators of ‘God of War’ were divinely inspired, tasked with conveying to humanity that hope is the ultimate tool with which to conquer the world. Kratos’ life, marked by both ruin and redemption, serves as a powerful allegory for our own potential to rise above our flaws and forge a path of righteousness. It’s a reminder that within the tapestry of mythology and fiction, there lie timeless truths about the human condition-about our capacity for both destruction and profound renewal.
Goodbye Kratos, thank you by the good times you make me have in childhood, for the good feels, good moments, good everything! I'll never forget your journey, i'll pray for the santa mônica don't fail you for now, you was the one and only with the honor to be called God Of War!!!... 😔
@@TheCursedCat1927 my bet could be entirely wrong but is that Kratos will now kinda watching everything from his throne giving lessons to atreus to teach him many things Kinda like how Tyr is to Kratos in the Valhalla dlc.
It would have been cool if they combined the og kratos theme and the new one to make a whole complete new one showing that he is accepting the past instead of ignoring or running away from it "The God of Hope"
I legit had no idea what the title was saying until I played the video. Maybe something more like “GoW Valhalla’s ending hits different with just the music.” Also what an amazing ending to this dlc. I got major Shakespeare vibes from this monologue (or is it a soliloquy 🤔)
So my question is why do people claim that the ost for gow 4 and ragnarok is just generic marvel movie type music? And when I say people I mean haters of the new games but that's a legitimate question I wonder about🤔. I could literally say the same thing about the music for the older games (l don't actually think that)
It's possible they could be saving that for the next game. Kratos has self actualized. However, some Greek gods still exist. Were he to earn their forgiveness through who they see now that may break his curse.
I miss vintage voice of young Kratos by TC carlson. Atleast couple of dialogues like The path I chose is Vengeance, and I paid for that, I got backstabbed by Gods, they deserves death etc., by even one more step, Kratos vs Kratos fight will be more interesting. Like in Ghost of sparta i guess.

Playing these new God of War games without music is just crime.
Thats actually gow 1 music
I bet the next gow will be titled "god of hope"
Next game probably will focus on atreus now
Kratos wont appear that much now with what he has become
@@Oznerol1234
That's debatable.
It depends on how they approach the Story from now on.
@@TheCursedCat1927 my bet could be entirely wrong but is that Kratos will now kinda watching everything from his throne giving lessons to atreus to teach him many things
Kinda like how Tyr is to Kratos in the Valhalla dlc.

By The Gods, What Have I Become!
Loved the Valhalla dlc absolutely amazing , I get goosebumps at this ending scene lol
It would have been cool if they combined the og kratos theme and the new one to make a whole complete new one showing that he is accepting the past instead of ignoring or running away from it "The God of Hope"
"What can i say to you?."
I legit had no idea what the title was saying until I played the video. Maybe something more like “GoW Valhalla’s ending hits different with just the music.”
Also what an amazing ending to this dlc.
I could literally say the same thing about the music for the older games (l don't actually think that)
Idk how people can say the new theme is generic. As soon as you hear the first 3 seconds, you know what it is
@@NoCluYT Exactly
When Kratos blows the horn to open Asgard, the emotion is so strong that you can actually shit yourself if you ain't careful.
@@AnrhoDeFryeld oh yeah that scene was amazing
Because people have poor media literacy.
Allow me to note for my Valkyrie (Sigrun boss) Piano Cover:
3:39 - Valkyrie appears. (no wait, that's one of Kratos melody, not valkyrie)
What I wished they did, and they kinda did here, was that his ash skin slowly fads away. And what we have is almost a golden glow.
It's possible they could be saving that for the next game. Kratos has self actualized. However, some Greek gods still exist. Were he to earn their forgiveness through who they see now that may break his curse.
I can't describe how great this game is, it takes me back to when I was a kid. This is the best game in the world 🔛🔝
Bear McCreary is a musical genius
Young kratos should’ve said something like “we do not let the world choose who we are we are who we made ourselves to be”
Should he though ?
This is a kind of "lesson" that wouldn't fit too much with the Young Kratos.
He didn't care about the consequences.
They really should change the first vocal lyric used in the New Theme melody instead of it saying "Exiled God" it really should now be "Reformed God"
so what is this theme called then
Would love to listen to this for hours

Why not the Blade of Athena behind young Kratos' shoulder
I miss vintage voice of young Kratos by TC carlson. Atleast couple of dialogues like The path I chose is Vengeance, and I paid for that, I got backstabbed by Gods, they deserves death etc., by even one more step, Kratos vs Kratos fight will be more interesting. Like in Ghost of sparta i guess.
The voices are real 😂 (inside my head)
THANK YOU OMG
What is the OG kratos music called?
"Vengefull spartan"
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Why are people call it "OG Kratos Theme"? It should called "Classic Kratos Theme"

"I believe...I would like to sit here for a while."
This is the most "inner peace"-line a character has ever delivered, especially one forged by war and carried the burden of guilt for their entire life. Kratos can, for the first time, just sit down and truly relax.

I am honestly glad young kratos didn't speak. Judge's voice for him in 2018 just didn't fit as well
Is it just me or does old kratos seem more muscular than young kratos?
The proportion looks bigger (Big belly) but young Kratos is more muscular
next part , kratos death !
Any chance you could do this for the end credits music?
Nah it’s too long, and I think we can all understand it. Plus it doesnt have visual, no one will watch it
Shouldn't kratos have the blades of athena?
There’s no way you can really tell the difference at that angle so it’s hardly necessary to give him the blades of Athena
Imagine Young Kratos would have told older Kratos
"I am the God of War and i destroy anything that crosses my way"
And Imagine he would have „insulted" Kratos by becoming such a weak and emotional Person through the years
And then the Old Kratos Had to fight his past Version to literally "defeat his past"
And only after that he could forget everything he has done in his past
Man this would be so amazing!
it is only me but that og kratos theme very sound egyptian when i hear that i thought its tease for next game but you say its only og theme for old gow games ?
Ancient Greek instruments and Egyptian instruments were very similar ;)
