I was just turn 10 yrs old and died 3 days after my birthday, I was shock hurt heartbroken and there will never be no one like Elvis Presley he was such a amazing artist performer and a human being.
I saw Elvis is concert on September 2, 1976, in Tampa, FL. Second row, center. I got the last scarf of the night as he sang “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” always the last song. I would’ve never believed he would die within a year. I’ll never forget that day. My sister called me at work. I was in shock and cried for days. Somewhere in the sea of flowers sent from all over the world was an arrangement from me. I’ve loved Elvis since I was five years old … he was my imaginary friend. I’m 64 years old and still love him as much, if not more, now. I was 19 when he died. There will never be another Elvis. Not just the handsome, charismatic entertainer with a golden voice … but the man.
I was feeding my infant daughter and I just sat down and cried at the loss of someone so awesome. It was something that affected me because it was such a loss to ALL generations of music
I was 17 when Elvis died. I cried that night, like a baby...as if it was one of my parents that had died. That's how much love Elvis fans had for him back then.
I was born in 1981 and I am Brazilian, but I cry every time I see this clip as if I were there, in 1977, live in Memphis, watching these sad scenes of the day that the world lost our KING! ELVIS ETERNAL! 👑🕺🏻🙏🏼❤
I was sitting in the chair peeling potatoes and watching TV. My son was 3. He was on a blanket playing with toys. My best friend lived downstairs from me in an apartment complex. The words came across the bottom of the screen before any news broke in. I read it and dropped the potatoes in the floor. I jumped up and ran outside at the same time my best friend ran out and we started crying and saying it can't be true it can't be true. She came up to my apartment and we watched it together when the news interrupted and said he was dead. I don't even know how long we cried. I live in Tennessee about two hours from Memphis. The next week or so the whole State was PACKED with people from all over the world. Every hotel or motel was full and people were even letting folks stay with them everywhere. It was one of those times when the whole world had a broken heart. 💔
Billy Graham once said that Elvis is singing to the angels. It took me a long time to watch his last concert because it hurt to much. I am grateful when he went to God he left his amazing body of work behind. His amazing songs, his movies, his humor and all his interviews. So I get it Girl. Love you.
I was 14 when he died I was in a state of shock it was all over the media people were crying non stop unbelieveable it was just thought Elvis was forever he left us a legacy he's the Goat I would bring Elvis back cause I would love to see him perform live thank you sad song but lovely safe 😷😧✌
There are special people that I know who past that will always remembered , John F Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Harold Washington, and Elvis Presley. ( in no particular order. ).
more than four decades later, the man with the voice and style that changed popular music forever, remains the King of Rock and Roll. Millions around the world still buy his music and hundreds of thousands visit Graceland every year to see where he lived,
I was 27, I was a Chef and a waitress came back to tell me, I was stunned! I lived my life vicariously through this man and the owner of the restaurant came back to tell me he knew what Elvis meant to me and said why don’t you call it a night and come out to the bar and I’ll buy you a couple drinks then go home, see you in a couple of days! Every time I watch this video, tears roll down my face!
And after the funeral, his father told the fans in a statement that they could each take a flower. I imagine some of those flowers are pressed into books all these years.
I wasn't born till November 1979 but my grandmother and my Dad love Elvis Presley n my dad got to see Elvis Presley almost a year before he passed away, 🙏 And my dad would drink 🍻 a couple beers and listen to Elvis on TV/ CD player and tell me my brother/ sister's all about Elvis Presley!!🙏🙏I so miss my dad I would just about give anything to see my dad 🙏Earl Wayne🙏one more time 🙏 💜💙❤️
I remember watching the news and they were thousands upon thousands of people in the streets all over the world, in Japan, Germany, England, France, Italy, Argentina, Mexico and other countries I can't remember now.. It was incredible how he was adored around the world and never performed outside the US even though he wanted to. It was said that to this day more flowers were bought from florists then anytime in history the day after he passed. It's kind of funny, Elvis said, he didn't think he would be remembered after he was gone. Wow, was he wrong. God bless you Girl.
I watched a video of a local florist and she said there were over 3100 flower arrangements ordered on Aug 17, 1977. And she also said that to this day, there are hundreds and hundreds of standing orders for flowers to be delivered to his graveside on august 16 and January 8
Elvis music in my opinion was at its best in the late sixties to early seventies , his voice was at its peak. You can hear how good his voice is in “They Remind Me Too Much Of You “.
I was driving to an attorney’s office to pick up the divorce papers for my brother and sister-in-law. I was listening to the radio and when the announcer came on and he said he had some news about Elvis. I got all excited and rushed into the office as they had gone to commercial and rushed back out just in time to hear him say that Elvis passed away. I was devastated and cried so hard I could barely drive home. I was 20 at the time.
I was 11 years old I was at my friend's house me and my sister and their mother yelledfor us to come downstairs and see what was on the news that Elvis had died, I was so heartbroken we ran home crying.
if they ask me what i was doing when elvis died, after alsmost 44 years i still can remember,,,,I was 5 years old,my parents and I were on my way to our holiday address in luxembourg, when it came on the radio here in the netherlands that elvis died... I haven't said a word all the way and I've been in the car with tears in my eyes.
Remember it well .I was 26 and watched his movies they showed all night long. Just had seen him in concert may 22 in Largo ,MD and he was great. I will never forget it. Still love him today.
Elvis was the best friend i ever had in my entire life. we met when i was 17 yrs old. I won a radio show contest and the prize was a day with Elvis but our friendship lasted past that one day in time. All the memories of my friend are tucked safe in my heart forever. dancing and singing breaks my heart because i know he is not here anymore my mind understands but my heart never will, i saw him a few weeks before he passed we had a short conversation which i will never share again because people are so nasty and comment hurtful heart breaking things they do not know me but they still can't keep their mouths closed about things they know nothing about. I walk past Graceland everyday. The last time i saw my friend was in that damn casket my heart will be forever broken.
I was 17 years old and I was fortunate enough to be at one of his concerts about 2 months before Elvis passed away. I was very sad when I saw the news story that evening.
The song was recorded in January 1969. He died on August 16, 1977. It's a fan video. It is, after all, what the song is about . . . "You finally got your dream . . ."
He was 42, I was 9...sadly I wasn't surprised, his health had been failing for years and he played here that Feb and he looked so bad..it was still sad but I wasn't shocked..there was chaos in Memphis...John Lennon being murdered 3 years later was more shocking but both were truly sad. The Elvis being alive bullshit started in 78..people claimed they saw him at Graceland and everywhere else.
Your Dad Wasn't On His Own .I Lost My Girlfriend Who I'd Been Dating For Quite A While . While We Watching TV A News Flash Came On "Elvis Is Dead"Her Brother In The Same Room Decided To Laugh .Big Big Mistake . I Left Him All Shook Up For Sure .End Of Relationship . That's What Effect The Great Man Has On His Fans .
I was only 9 but I can still remember what I was wearing (a blue jumpsuit) & that I was balling my eyes out. Still cry to this day wishing he was still here.
I was 17 when he died and still remember helping my parents paint their living room when we heard the news. Remember crying alot when the DJs played his music on the radio for days after his death.
I was 11 years old. I had a saving box to collect money to go to America and see him in concert. I planned that once I start work I will put all my money together and go. The morning of 16th August (in the UK) my mum got a phone call. Said to me that he had died. I didn't believe it but I turned on the radio. "I Just Can't Help Believin" was playing. I don't remember any more but my mum says that I slumped down beside the radio and stared at the floor in shock. I started work in 1983 and the next year I flew to Memphis.
I was a teenager. I bought a whistle that day. At 3 AM, my dad suggested I go outside and blow that whistle. All the lights were still on. Everyone was listening to the radio after all the late night Special Reports on TV. I didn't wake anyone up. This was in Atlanta - Decatur. I never did stop crying. A doomed young man met his end. 😢 Like a Greek Tragedy. No. They didn't play this song at his funeral. But, it's about him. He knew that. A poor kid goes off to the bright lights in the the Big City. And finally returns - "you finally got your dream." A fancy car all the town to see.
I was 16 years old when Elvis died. My grandmother and I were watching TV. The program was interrupted for a Special report. Even the anchor man seemed upset when he was reporting that Elvis Presley has died. I was totally devastated. It was as if one of my family members had died. All of the Elvis fans were feeling what I felt.
I was 14 and in my bedroom when I heard about Elvis passed away. I ran out of my room to tell my mom and she was already crying. My parents were born the same year Elvis was in 1935. So us 6 kids were raised on Elvis. When he died, it was like losing a extremely close family member. We cried for a long time. We just couldn't believe he was gone. 😭💔😭💔😭💔😭 It's still hard when the anniversary of his passing comes around every year.
I was 16 at the time living in South Brooklyn on that fateful day..I heard the tragic news from a friend listening to music on a small radio. I only knew of Elvis’s from a few movies and that 1973 TV aired Aloha concert that I watched with my parents as an 11 year old...I had no idea of the magnitude he had at that time...and this is when I’ve learned all about him and delved into his music and I’ve been an avid Elvis fan ever since.
I was 22 when he died & I was a Nurse in a hospital. Word spread through because they had breaking news on all the TV stations and radio. I had. To keep working for another hour so I just pretended it was a rumor. I knew he was only 42. When I got home& turned on the TV, it was all over on every channel. It was like the world stopped. He was so iconic and known internationally that everyone was shocked. There was no internet at that time and so news was a bit slower until you got to a radio or TV. It was one of the biggest funerals I’d ever seen. The only person that received more flowers then he was JFK , our President. It was sad indeed & I believe people want that beautiful talent and man to be alive so much to this day that all kinds of rumors started up. But he was gone... but he left us a beautiful legacy and not only a unique golden voice but he was so emotive when he sang that it just reaches your soul. Thanks for the reaction video. Stay safe. God bless. 👍🏻👍🏻🥲🥲
That was footage from his actual funeral when he died. That's Elvis in that car. Long Black Limousine was simply about a small town boy and a small town girl that said she was going to go out and make it big time but someday she'd come back and it broke his heart when he lost her oh, but she kept her promise because now she's back but she's riding in a Long Black Limousine. Because she's dead.
When Elvis died, I was sitting outside on the porch by myself. My upstairs neighbor/friend yelled down to me and told me, “Diane! Elvis died!” I yelled up to her, “WHAT!!! You’re joking!!!” She yelled back down, “NO!!! It’s true!!!” I started crying, and she came down to console me. I’ll never forget that day 😔‼️ I was an Elvis fan since before I was 10 (before 1963).
I was in the 1st grade. Came home from school and found my mom sobbing. My dad took it hardest as Elvis was like a role model to him because he didn't have a father figure. So he grew up aspiring to be good I like Elvis. I remember both of my parents and their friends crying that night, candles lit and Elvis music playing. I knew Elvis died, but was too young to know the impact it had on the world.
I know yes since you asked, I was a welder in Holly Michigan I was 18 years old and I have been an Elvis Presley fan before I was even born that guy was my world when it came to music and still is for that matter, but the day that news came over the radio and picture of this if you can, me and about four other guys we're sitting out in my car at lunch time and we were all having a good time as we were all sitting out in the car burning one the radio turned up and yucking it up before we had to go back in. we were all sitting in my Camaro jamming to whatever song was on the radio and all the sudden the radio went silent, I thought something was wrong with my radio, no one in my car was much of an Elvis fan and never had being or so they thought. When the DJ finally spoke he could hardly utter the words that Elvis Presley had just being pronounced dead, but he said I can't believe I'm even saying these words but Elvis Presley has just died. There were no more Smiles in a car only complete shock to everyone in the car and you could have heard a pin drop. I had to get out of the car because I physically got sick to my stomach I couldn't process it. As all of us went to walk back into the shop nobody said a word and when we walked in there I was completely floored because nobody was smiling or laughing or talking about anyting it was dead silence it was like everyone's dad just suddenly up and died and pulled the world right out from underneath their feet. Until then I never really knew how many people actually loved that guy but never said a word and didn't listen to his music hardly at all but when they realize that such an icon had just died all the beautiful songs he sang finally came rushing through their minds and they realized what the world had just lost what they had just lost. I for one couldn't even work the last 3 hours I left I went straight to the bar and it was more like walking into a funeral home. One hot ass day in August I will never forget. I had already saw him five times in concert just to put things into perspective.
I was 11 and I didn’t know how to feel the child me couldn’t handle the shock I cried that day. The adult me now understands the why I still cry to this day. It’s a scar that will never heal we will forever miss him.
I was working the incoming call switchboard in the Memphis Fire Dept. Alarm Office the day of Aug 16, 1977. the fellow next to me got a call from Graceland requesting an ambulance...we sent the nearest available one(I think it was from station 16 not too far from Graceland)...within an hour to an hour and a half we were getting calls from around the world: they were calling for VERIFICATION...so sad...such a nice, talented, soul!
I too was devastated over Aaliyah. Such a talent. Too young. Tragic. I was a little kid when Elvis died but I instinctively knew this was a big deal. I remember feeling sad even though I didn't really know why. But even in England, it was a big deal. I think UA-cam has some of the news reports from that day. The older I get, the sadder I get about Elvis' death. I just feel that things could, and should, have been different. In the last years, he was definitely sef-medicating due to depression, in my opinion. But he was from a place and time where admitting you needed help just wasn't the done thing. And now his daughter Lisa Marie has also lost her son, his grandson, to depression. It's all too sad. Been a while since I heard this version of Long Black Limousine. I like it. Another wonderful, warm reaction from you.
Elvis was my first concert in 1972 ..... I cried like a baby in side of of Sears store trying on clothes for the new school year . My mom had to buy the outfit I had on to get me out of the store . My aunts and nanny went to his funeral, they said it was so hot that day and stood on side of street for hours . Several people had to be taken to the hospital due to heat exhaustion. August 17th, 1977, the day after "the King of Rock and Roll" died, set the record for most flowers sold in the US on a single day. By that afternoon every florist in Memphis had ran out of flowers . They where shipping flowers from all over the world that day ....
This is a great song of his. So is “Tomorrow Never Comes” and “After loving You”. They’re from the same time period as this song. In fact, I do believe I had an album of his back in the 70’s who all three songs on it called THE NASHVILLE SESSION (OR SESSIONS).
I was 14 and sitting on the porch when I heard. I refused to believe it until it was the lead story on the evening news. I broke. I hadn't been following him because I was into rod Stewart at that time but hearing that my first love had passed was shocking. The world stopped spinning. His death was so monumental that the news lead with it. Nowadays that's not a big deal with the 24 hour news cycle but back then the lead story was always the most important event. He was the first celebrity to pass and have it be the biggest story in the country and probably the world
I was born and raised in Memphis .I was 19 at the time and when I heard it I just went home got in bed turned the radio on and listened to his music till the sun came up.Luckily I worked for my father because I couldn't work for a week.
the best interpretation of this song was Elvis who did it best. gave a new look to the song, which with other performers is very cold without life Brazil 🇧🇷I like to sing some of his songs but I don't speak English like to sing some of his songs but I don't speak English
I was 20 years old, I was depressed, I cried, I felt like I lost a close family member, my first born came along the year after, I wrote in her baby book about Elvis, it was less than year after he passed! So, Yeah, it's in her baby book!
I was a 10 year old kid in California camping in a tent in the front yard with my big brother figure it was raining and it came on the radio that was on.
I was 4 y/o and I was not really aware, but at around 5 I first heard Jailhouse Rock and fell in love with his voice as my grandmother liked him …then I saw him in Love Me Tender and I wanted to marry him it broke my heart when I found out he was gone 😭💔
I was 23 and was going to visit my aunt after work. I rang the bell and the first thing she said was ‘“Elvis died” - I was shocked because there was nothing about him even being sick
I first said NO!!! THEN AFTER I GOT OFF WORK I SAW IT ON TV, I WAS JUST PREGNANT AND TRIED SO HARD NOT TO CRY, BUT TEARD ROLLED. IT'S SO MANY YEARS PAST NOW AND IM STILL CRYING. I SURE HOPE I MEET HIM IN HEAVEN ONE DAY. I LOVED AND TO THIS VERY MINUTE LOVE HIM. IM 63 now and it still hurts.
Great reaction 👍🏻🥰‼️ By the way, besides the ones I listed below, “In the Ghetto” is a great song by Elvis. If you haven’t done so already, you could react to it?
"James Brown, Elvis's best friend, cried like a baby! Along with Priscilla, they cried all day long at Graceland while greeting a select few guests! James Brown, like Babe Ruth at Lou Gehrig's wake, never got over Elvis's death until his own, tears, tears, tears!!" 😢😮❤😭😘🥰😍🤩😪😝😜😔🥺😬🤐🤔🤫🤭😱🤨😒🙄😢☹️😟😞😯😲😨😇😣😩😫🙀😿😾😻🖤💓🖤💗🖤💗🖤💗❤️👼💐🌼🌻🌞🌝🌚🌜🌛⭐🌟✨💫
I was 16 years old when Elvis died. My girl friend called me ,, it was August 16,1977,, she called on the phone and told me Elvis died,, I didn’t believe it,, I turned on the TV and it was on,, I cried like a baby for a week, I cried,, it’s so hard to believe he’s been gone so long. I love Elvis and I love watch the effect he still has on people,, it’s a joy to see the happiness he brings to people .
Just The King always.we never see a Elvis Presley again.its like da vinci.never happens again.who is alia.i was 15 when Elvis Presley died.the whole World did stop.i rember Elvis last show and My mother and father did say Elvis look sick.who is lea.i Have No idea
I was 15 and heard the news Elvis had died. I thought it was just a rumor that started from somewhere. Then watched it on the news and realized it was real. I was shocked and to this day it still is a hard pill to swallow. Elvis had it all...the world! But believe it or not...He was a lonely guy! Really sad...😕
I was 20 years old when Elvis died. I was in the Army at Fort Benning, Ga. It felt like a family member had died. I was alone in my room and I cried like a baby. I am Black and for so many years I could not acknowledge my love for Elvis. My father said he was racist. I felt in my heart he was wrong.
I was 18 years old when Elvis died in 1977. The news of his death didn’t hit me with as much of a shock as it would have hadn’t one of my best friends been killed in a motorcycle crash just before. My girlfriend at the time was in a terrible shock about the crash and so I had been at her (and her parents’) house outside of town. My dad had offered to drive through snd collect me. On the way back in the car he told me that Elvis had just died. Because of the shock of my friend having died, all I could say was “Did he?”. I was surprised to hear it but I was too otherwise traumatised to react with much actual shock. I visited Graceland a year or so later and then again a few years after that. The house hadn’t yet been opened up to the public... only the grounds and graves etc.
Elvis did not die in 77 he is still alive there is alot of proof out there his handwriting and voice have being proved that he is alive go onto Elvis alive there is loads of things on there.

Elvis had such a positive effect on people, He sure was love by many people. Thank You for sharing this Derek.
This is a great, moving and quite profound song from one of my favourite albums:
"From Elvis In Memphis".
To this day there was more funeral flowers sold and sent to Elvis than anybody in the world it was a record-breaking sale.
Wow. That's amazing.
And after the funeral, his father told the fans in a statement that they could each take a flower. I imagine some of those flowers are pressed into books all these years.

Elvis passed at age 42. You’ve got a ways to go, over 800 songs in his catalog.
800? Wow.
I wish I could have met him. I was born to late. 1979 😞 He was the best. R.I.P. ♥️🙏
The most flowers were sold in one day in U.S. history the day after Elvis died.

Stunned!
I was 14.
I was heartbroken.
Yes, crying.
Was 14 yrs old, a huge fan- still am. Was stunned, couldn't believe it. The world I think was kinda in shock, even those who weren't Elvis fans.
Elvis was the best friend i ever had in my entire life. we met when i was 17 yrs old. You are very lucky to see him before he pass, some of us would never get that chance.
The song was recorded in January 1969. He died on August 16, 1977. It's a fan video. It is, after all, what the song is about . . . "You finally got your dream . . ."
My reaction was, I just had to sit there and let it sink in for a few minutes. It was unbelievable at the time.
I cried like a baby he was the king of Rock & Roll
I had just turned 8 years old when Elvis passed away. I remember seeing it on TV and feeling very sad.
I wasn't born yet but my dad was a big fan of Elvis Presley and my mom said my dad cried like a baby for a few days 😭😭 may he rest in peace
I was 3 years old so i didn't understand but after getting older my mom listened to him all the time so I've loved him ever since
I was 8 when Elvis died.....man....even then at that age that was a monumental moment...
Shocked at first, then saddened.....13 years old and I remember it like it was yesterday!
This is so sad.. I can’t imagine seeing that. Thank you for the reaction. ❤️🥺
I was 6 when he passed and i was to young to know whats going on and my grandfather passed that same yr but looking back now it was sad!
He was my hero and I was totally crushed.
I love Elvis when I was 5 years old I listen to Elvis this is Eddie cook
Stay safe. God bless. 👍🏻👍🏻🥲🥲
Playing baseball at fifteen years old. Everyone was shocked and heartbroken. Lotz of tears that day.
I was in shock. I have always been a big fan of him. I was around 30
U are doing a amazing job about Elvis Presley
I was 37 years old when he died. My first reaction was disbelief. Then I cried. I was driving to the mall and heard it on the car radio.
Charlie Hodge mentioned in a documentary that there's a list of people who took their lifes the day Elvis passed away.
He was touched , man had the Holy Ghost .
I was (-22) years old when Elvis passed away.
hi love
I was 29! I couldn't believe it! As was everybody around the world, I was heartbroken
Awwww. Elvis was sure loved by everyone.
It’s a scar that will never heal we will forever miss him.
glad---you found elivs dear
I was working the incoming call switchboard in the Memphis Fire Dept. Alarm Office the day of Aug 16, 1977. the fellow next to me got a call from Graceland requesting an ambulance...we sent the nearest available one(I think it was from station 16 not too far from Graceland)...within an hour to an hour and a half we were getting calls from around the world: they were calling for VERIFICATION...so sad...such a nice, talented, soul!
Wow. Thanks for sharing that.
I vaguely remember coming home from school. I was in the 1st grade and remember it was all on the news.
😭😭😭😭😭😭miss the king, hi Bob Joyce♥️
I was 14 and sitting on the porch when I heard. I refused to believe it until it was the lead story on the evening news. I broke. I hadn't been following him because I was into rod Stewart at that time but hearing that my first love had passed was shocking. The world stopped spinning. His death was so monumental that the news lead with it. Nowadays that's not a big deal with the 24 hour news cycle but back then the lead story was always the most important event. He was the first celebrity to pass and have it be the biggest story in the country and probably the world
Most of America was depressed when he died
I was born and raised in Memphis .I was 19 at the time and when I heard it I just went home got in bed turned the radio on and listened to his music till the sun came up.Luckily I worked for my father because I couldn't work for a week.
the best interpretation of this song was Elvis who did it best. gave a new look to the song, which with other performers is very cold without life Brazil 🇧🇷I like to sing some of his songs but I don't speak English like to sing some of his songs but I don't speak English
1 was in my twenty when elvis died .I'm still crying. How did aleaha.die.
Aaliyah died in a plane crash.
@@TysheenOrane im sorry.
Sorry about my spelling of her name.
I was 20 years old, I was depressed, I cried, I felt like I lost a close family member, my first born came along the year after, I wrote in her baby book about Elvis, it was less than year after he passed! So, Yeah, it's in her baby book!
Awww. That was sweet of you.
I was a 10 year old kid in California camping in a tent in the front yard with my big brother figure it was raining and it came on the radio that was on.
I was 15 , i was shocked , i seen him live in 1972
I was about 18, just in shock and sad on my way back to work
I was almost 5 when he died. I grew up on him.
I rang the bell and the first thing she said was ‘“Elvis died” - I was shocked because there was nothing about him even being sick
awwww.
Tears..sorry
I would almost bet that everyone who was old enough to remember when he died, remembers where they were and what they were doing when the news broke.
At the age 16? I can't imagine what the kids in school was going through.

Sorry for your loss.
I was 13 when I heard the news that elvis died. I remember my father went in the back yard and cried . Which he never did.
Could u react to old friend by Bill medley. It's about elvis.elvis was laid out at Graceland. And they let the fans in to see him.
oooohhhhyes love
SHOCK!
I was 12 years old and ran to tell my mum and she starting crying.
So sad!
Elvis did not die in 77 he is still alive there is alot of proof out there his handwriting and voice have being proved that he is alive go onto Elvis alive there is loads of things on there.
