    It's nice to have those hand warmers, I have to say the temps really dropped after this last snow fall. Good to see out blowing the snow.

      First time I’ve really needed them. I’ve turned them on to see if they worked a few times, but that’s it. I was shocked at how nice they were, and how well they worked. Thanks for the positive comment.

    I’m always out doing neighbours driveways. Finally the next door neighbour bought a blower so now it’s nice to come home after a long day at work and my driveway is already done for me. 😊

    I clear my neighbors driveway when they’re home and they have a snowblower that they’re perfectly capable of using. I needed to make up for lost time and had fun with this SE Wisconsin storm. We got 6-8” in Oak Creek.

      @@blowingsnow4fun nice. I’m by Howell south of Oakwood. I think My record for doing neighbors driveways is 7. Often times, I’ll walk around the block and do the sidewalk too. Some call it a sickness…I call it fun!

      @@flyjarrett I enjoy it as well. My neighbor to the West had 1 leg, so I did his. He’s gone now, moved into an assisted care place. So I go down the block just clearing g EOD piles. Where don’t have curbs by me, kind of a small concrete gully that’s a PIA. No real good way of approaching it without leaving some snow ! My wife says I’m similarly afflicted…LOL

      Hi John… that was a decent snow, but there too few and far in between. that’s really nice of you to help your neighbor out. If you have a decent blower, it’s not that tough to add a driveway or two to your list of “To do’s”. In reality, that single helpful act means someone can stay in their house longer, which is awesome! Keep up thr good work John!

      I helped a second friend out yesterday who was up at his place in N Wi. He leaves me his garage key if snow is in the forecast. He has a Troy Built storm. It’s really a nice machine for the money, but it has a plastic gear for the chute that’s partially stripped. All of a sudden it turns on it’s own.

    That was nice of you to help out your neighbor. Looks like your other neighbor was pitching in, too. 😊 Still waiting for some plowable snow here in Grafton, Massachusetts. 😔 It’s been a mild Winter here. I just want one storm, so I can take out my Ariens 8526.

      Hi Nurse Ratchet… last winter was mild here too. Only had a chance to get my SHO out once last year. Now this is the only time I’ve had it out this year. I’ve got the shakes from AW….Ariens withdrawal. The RX IS a good blizzard to cure my affliction! HERES HOPING!!

    We've had 2 decent plowable snow events in my area in Northern IL just outside of Chicago. Last Wednesday we had 3-3.5" of wet heavy snow and about 3.5-4" of "normal" snow this past Saturday. Cleared 12 driveways on Sunday with my craftsman 2 stage

      @blowingsnow4fun  Рік тому

      Hi Andy. Yah we had a really wet 3” that compacted down to 2 last week. I used my little Toro PowerCurve . Sprayed the chute before I started to keep it from clogging. Do you use anything on the chute on your craftsman to keep it from throwing sausage when it’s super wet?

    • @andyslawncareandoutdooradv
      @andyslawncareandoutdooradv Рік тому

      @Blowing Snow 4fun I used a nonstick spray from the hardware store. I sprayed it the night before and I cleared 6 driveways in the morning and it worked 👌👌. It clogged once because I went too fast through a slush puddle but did great otherwise. After school, after the snow sat for 8 hours and the temp warmed to 36 I attempted to help a neighbor out and didn't spray the chute and let's just say it clogged almost instantly

      Thanks for the info Andy. I’ve had some Teflon spay “DuPont snow & ice repellent” that I bought almost 10 years ago. I used to spray it on my 8hp Simplicity, and I still use it on my little power-clear any time the snow is wet & sticky. I haven’t needed it so far on my Ariens. The high speed impeller seems to make the wet stuff come out of the chute faster which seems to make a difference. Maybe I just haven’t run into the right wet snow yet with it.

      @@blowingsnow4fun DuPoint is the same stuff I use. It has worked really well for me so far

      Hi Andy. I used Pam cooking spray for years, but it usually wore off well before I was done blowing snow. I think my mother found the DuPont product st an ace hardware near her house & purchased it for me to use when I came over to clear her snow. It’s available on Amazon for $12.00 and some change. I think you told me you spray your chute the night before. I started doing the same when I used Psm as I was looking for a way to make it last longer (spraying the Pam the night before did help it last longer) I do spay my Toro the night before with the Teflon product, and it easily lasts the whole time I’m clearing snow. A friend gave me a can of an Ariens product when I fixed his blower for him. It’s called “Snow Jet”, but I haven’t used it as I have about 1/8 of a can of the Teflon product left. It’s a polymer product, and it’s more expensive than the Teflon product at $17 a can. I also find spraying the chute is also more effective on a dry chute. I’ve read stories of guys using ceramic sprays (made for cars) on their chutes and the inside of their buckets in fall. They claim It lasts through the winter without reapplication. Do you know anyone who’s had success with that?

    • @blowingsnow4fun
      @blowingsnow4fun  11 місяців тому +1

      Hey Evenito… I have not had much experience with tracked snowblowers. I have had a chance to play around with the Rapidtrack 28” Platinum SHO in a showroom, and I’ve seen some in use in my neighborhood. If you look at the comments from 13 days ago on my “what kind of snowblower guy are you” video from a subscriber named silvers, he talks about using his rapidTrack in Alaska. Thanks for the question.

      I grew up in Milwaukee in the 1960’sand I remember my dad climbing up the ladder one day to put a new layer of shingles on the roof. I asked him what I could do to help, and he said to keep bringing shingles up the ladder. In the next half hour there were three neighbors on the roof swinging hammers with dad, and two on the ground helping me carry shingles up. That was the type of neighborhood it was. Our block was full of WWII vets, and you never had to ask for help, everyone just pitched in. While the neighborhood I live in now is not quite that amazing, if someone needs help, it does show up:) Thanks for the positive comment!
