- Video of Michael Evanko fly fishing Chest Creek in Cambria County, Pennsylvania. The Keystone Select water starts at the bridge on Sr4024 and goes upstream to approximately the railroad crossing just beyond Jasmine Street. Most of the stream can be accessed by River Drive that runs along the western edge of the stream. Chest Creek is a tributary of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. Keystone Select waters are covered by Delayed Harvest Catch & Release Artificial Lures Only regulations. The fish caught in this video were caught on Evanko's Green Dot Squirmy and standard Gold-Ribbed Hares Ear patterns. This video was shot on November 12, 2018.
"Sum dimes they go da rung way". I love that P.A. accent. It's so good to be back. Thanks for sharing.
Great video Mike! I fished this for the first time today and caught a lot of nice fish. I don’t know why no one talks about how nice it is. Shhhh

@@WoolyBugged that's what I was thinking as well lmao hate this weather 😂😂😂. Was thinking of doing some native brookie fishing this Friday if you want to meet me up. It's up in Lancaster so I bet you've fished some of the water already. Have you heard of climbers run and steinman run? Was thinking of going down there tommorow since it looks like it's not going to be too bad of a day for fishing. Most likely around 10:30 am or 11. But it's all good Mike, want to make sure we go to that creek on a day that's perfect, would hate to go down there and catch nothing haha. Tight lines Mike! And if you can make it this Friday shoot me an email🖒
Great video again mike. You never disappoint!!!
PAT AND PAPPYS FISHING ADVENTURES thanks Pat and Pappy, means a lot to get those positive comments.
Nice assortment of trout Mike. Have to keep that creek in the rotation!
Big Papi ya you know it was a nice assortment. Happy Thanksgiving Big Papi!
Great Video!! Seems like an beautiful creek with some nice trout too !
Awesome video Wooly! Really nice fish! Been huntin for a big buck lately. Keep them winter fishin videos coming!
Hillbilly Sportsman hope you get that big buck!
Beautiful fish! well done man! thanks for sharing!
Jesse Stanfield - Broken Curl Outdoors thanks Jesse! Happy Thanksgiving!
Man , love watching you fish , I fish out of New York, and one thing I know is that you have to put the effort in and work the water, adapting to the conditions and the payoff is netting fish , it’s a beautiful sport , keep up the great vids!!!
You're only a few minutes from my house. Good video Mike!
Doug Roberts no kidding, that’s where you live! Do you know if those are game lands on the east side of that stream along the tracks?
@@WoolyBugged I don't believe that they are. I may be mistaken though
Mike you certainly do a heck of a job as all agree. I don’t think you ever had a negative response. That’s something. I’m going to drive down Rt. 52 and work towards WV. Have a happy Thanksgiving.
zenbooter thank you Zenbooter, I try and keep the vibes positive! Enjoy WV and Happy Thanksgiving to you!
I live in Patton, literally 5 minutes from jasmine street, and I don’t fish this near enough. . Next year that will change
I just found this channel and subbed! Great video thanks for sharing
Nice one love it 😉👍🎣🎣🎣
Solid trout man! Nice job!
Finally man )
I missed your videos
franklindavit I know man, I was itching to get out. Happy Thanksgiving!
@@WoolyBugged happy Thanksgiving
another great video , thanks
4000 subs! Congrats!
Immortan Jon thanks Jon! How did that happen, feel like I just started doing this.
@@WoolyBugged holy moly you gained 64 subs since my last comment! Youre going to be a fulltime youtuber by spring 🤣
Immortan Jon gonna need a lot more than 64 for that to happen lol
@@WoolyBugged well, 64 over 3 days... if you keep that pace youll be well over 10k in a year. And i'd only expect the pace to increase 👍👏
Question - how late in the season would you fish a squirmy and hair's ear, and at what point would you switch to midges?
yoursweatersux I’ll fish that set-up all winter but it doesn’t always work. The zebra midges are always another go to in the cold weather.
You could also switch to bead headed pheasant tails (any time of the year), and see what happens. The problem with the squirmy wormy, is that it's geared more towards the stocked trout (at least in my experience). You want something more natural (again, from my experiences) for the the wild brown trout. Just my two cents. Tight Lines.
Welcome back Mike! Been waiting for another video from you. Did you film your steelhead trip or just go out and have fun?
Gary B thanks Gary! Just having fun with the steelhead. Erie is a tough place to shoot because of the wind. You’d be shocked at the number of videos I’ve scrapped because of poor audio. One day!
Great video, where can I buy a bead for the worm?
Rudy Elizondo almost any online web store that sells fly tying materials would sell tungsten beads. I happen to buy mine from TCO Fly Shop.
Hey Mike, thanks for the video. Where do you buy those beads? I've never seen them like that before.
Great videos! I see you nymph with an indicator, do you have tight line or euro nymph?
Good stuff I like it when you tell me wat your using.. thanks
Douglas Randall thanks Douglas, Happy Thanksgiving!
great vid! may i ask where u parked your car?
What weight line were you using?
Jacob Schaef that’s a 5wt rated line Jacob.
Really shouldn’t be any stocked brookies in that section of the stream. If your fishing the delayed harvest artificial lure section anyways. Only the very upper section gets brookies
Pretty sure it was a stocked brookie.
Yet another great video Mike, was that a new sling pack?
Jeff K not new Jeff, but it’s my back-up pack when my other becomes disorganized and I don’t have tone to straighten things up.
first cast? crazy
yoursweatersux I got lucky on that one, lol
How was Erie? I was gonna head up Monday and Tuesday.
SOFTAIL X Erie was decent when I was there but not spectacular. A lot of the fish were up high. How’d you make out?
@@WoolyBugged hit Pulaski Monday. Not good. I only heard of one steelhead caught. Some guys had COHOs but not many. Everyone was fishing up high in the river. Flows were good. Lot of people there for a Monday. Happy Thanksgiving
Nice video and that is nice river
Passion for Hunting and fishing thanks, ya it’s a neat place
Thanks for the new vid! I just got a larger net like that for steelhead and use the Thunderhead sling pack. What magnetic lanyard do you use off the back, and do you like it?
blingadinghey thank you! So that set-up is custom rigged. I used a Loon magnetic release but created an extension using a Summit Tree Stand bungie cable meant for keeping climber stands connected. I only use that rig when I’m using a bag that doesn’t have the net holder.
@@WoolyBugged right on. Thanks.

I've fished this section several times over. It is a delayed harvest section too. Early spring and fall are prime times to fish it
Mike, love your vids! Where do you stock up on your squirmy's?
Dennis Ferguson I tie my own worms. I like to use the Spirit River brand segments.
@@WoolyBugged nice.... I'm fairly new to fly fishing and dont posess those skills or talent yet, one day I'll give it a shot... until then do have any leads for purchasing them?
Above Johnston, w. of Altoona?
Scott Russell yes sir!
@@WoolyBugged hope our tippets cross someday.
Same here Scott!
