He was a true rock and roll star : handsome, fantastic voice quality and phrasing. and he knew how to move and looked romantic all effortlessly... There was never anyone like Rick Nelson.
What an incredible voice, as well as being such a handsome man. If a guy can see that he was good looking the girls must have had absolute crushes on him.
Hey this era was well before my time. Yet I've kind of grown up listening to late 50 and mainly early to mid 60's era through my mum. I love ricky nelsons voice and yes I totally agree he was ridiculously handsome....my god, those eyes of his!! I for one am definitely crushing on him!
I was fortunate enough to see Ricky's twin sons, Gunner and Matthew in person at a musical tribute and singing their dad's songs They did a beautiful job and l know Ricky was looking down from Heaven with pride. I know l left in tears as many if not all of us.
Ricky had a great voice being a guy though I liked him best in Rio Bravo and his duet with Dean. My Rifle My Pony and Me. His brother is gone now to he was great in the movie Day of the Outlaw. He never had Ricky's great looks or singing talent. Great video thanks for sharing.
Oh Wow I'm looking through these songs of Rick Nelson! Some I never herd of There so Fantastic He was such a Fantastic Singer I'm glad he's in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame It was a sad loss when he died Had such Tallent One of my Favorite singers R I P Rick Nelson
Quelle voix il avait Vraiment j'adore tout son répertoire Dommage que je ne suis pas bilingue pour mieux comprendre Merci pour ce partage et votre vidéo Super RIP Ricky Nelson
Released in May 1963, this was the B-side. The A-side was String Along. Both songs charted, with String Along going to No. 25 and Gypsy Woman going to No. 62.
I was fortunate enough to meet his family, ex-wife Kris, Tracy, Gunnar, Matthew and Sam. A very friendly and outgoing family, although Kris had her problems but is much better now.
This great song was ahead of its time. Sounds like something that could have done well in 64/65 - and the great James Burton played a solo unlike anything from '61 or '62. An Aussie group recorded a version much like this and took it top ten in their country - in 1966.
@wicked Tornado the musicians on this record and video include James Burton guitar Ritchie Frost drums Joe Osborne bass (not shown)and possibly Gene Garth piano. Those are Not the Jordanaires on background vocals although they did sing backup on a lot of his earlier hits. Could be Darlene Love and the Blossoms singing backup on this.
foxfive I wonder if the reason Joe Osborn is not shown has something to do with the fact that he co-wrote the song with Dorsey Burnette? Perhaps with his background in law, Ozzie considered it some sort of conflict of interest deal? Who knows?
Great photos as always! And this video of him singing is so clear! Loved it! Great quality! Loved the family photo of the Harmons & Nelsons! I’m wondering who took that photo?! There was an extra plate at the dinner table! Perhaps a grandparent or friend of the Harmon’s! Thanks! This was wonderful! 🙏🏼 The great looking guy with the golden voice, Rick Nelson!
Perhaps my favorite song by Rick but unfortunately others may not think so as it is excluded from mostly all of the greatest hits compilations except for the 4 CD legacy box set which cost too much and has many filler songs which I do not care for.
There sure are a lot of songs about gypsy women. Being part rom myself I can tell you that it isn't all that romantic. I haven't heard this one before. Did it ever chart on Billboard?
At 00:03 isn't that a picture of Harmon family. the in-laws of Rick Nelson. It looks like the football great Tom Harmon , his wife Elyse Knox , baby Tracy Nelson , Kris, her brother , now heartthrob Mark Harmon and someone else maybe a Harmon sister. Correct me if i am wrong.. This is unusual to see a picture of Harmon side of the family with Rick. This must have been a Christmas celebration .
James is a great guitarist but things happen if he is in your band. Rick gone, Elvis gone, Roy gone, Denver gone. He played with all of them. Yikes...LOL
Perfect song . James Burton was lead guitaristand ahead of his time is still alive and had amazing career .
Before The Rolling Stones, there was Ricky and this band - nobody better!
He was a true rock and roll star : handsome, fantastic voice quality and phrasing. and he knew how to move and looked romantic all effortlessly... There was never anyone like Rick Nelson.
I found another Rick Nelson.... @curiosityincorperated
He was my first crush.
He was cool too.
Elvis
This song and String Along are his two best songs. . He could sing , really sing.
The most underated singer of the 60's
Love me some 'String Along'. Had an old Glen Campbell album where he covered it.
Rick was done in by a group from England.
It should have been a bigger hit … great song .. different sound …. Maybe radio deejays didn’t promote it enough.
Those who voted thumbs down on this fabulous tune are absolutely pitiful judges of music!!!
Thank goodness all this is still available to his legions of adoring and faithful fans!
I love this song..simple as that. Ricky Nelson is wonderful singing this...terrific. So sad!!
What an incredible voice, as well as being such a handsome man. If a guy can see that he was good looking the girls must have had absolute crushes on him.

This song is incredible. Absolutely everything in it is magical.
Woody - I feel similarly! It is an incredible, magical tune to be sure!!
Check out the version by an Australian band called The Allusions. Fantastic ! I heard their version , first .
This is so damn good!!! I love late 60s early 70s Rick!
I was fortunate enough to see Ricky's twin sons, Gunner and Matthew in person at a musical tribute and singing their dad's songs They did a beautiful job and l know Ricky was looking down from Heaven with pride. I know l left in tears as many if not all of us.
With James Burton on the strings, the necessary talent behind every rock'n roll star !
My favorite singer and still is up to now. No one can ever replace him.
Still sad all these years later!!
First time I heard this one. Fantastic!!
Oh my what a handsome man with so much talent ! Love his music then and now!
True ROCKER, underrated and that voice and face.
My favorite singer until now.
One word...DREAMY :)
We miss you Ricky
A lot better than the other crap from this period !!!
Ricky Nelson had a lot of TALENT and a lot of SOUL! Ricky Nelson would have done a GREAT JOB with LIVIN' LA VIDA LOCA!
Oh. This. Is. A. Treasure. Unforgettable. Man. His. Legacy. Lives. On. And. Always. Will.
Ricky had a great voice being a guy though I liked him best in Rio Bravo and his
duet with Dean. My Rifle My Pony and Me. His brother is gone now to he was great in
the movie Day of the Outlaw. He never had Ricky's great looks or singing talent.
Great video thanks for sharing.
Never heard this track till now, it's fab I love it
So talented, well, with two musical parents it's not surprising. Beautiful voice.
Very talented so sad to lose Ricky so soon , just like all the greats gone too soon
My favorite by Rick along with Gypsy Woman!!!
I Meant to say along with It's Late - sorry!!!!
good song

My old favourite.
We love you and miss you, Rick. This song in one of your best....
You had such a velvet voice. Good memories of a better time with much better music than present.
DREAMY!
One of the first 45 rpm records I bought in the early 60's.
Good Singer Loved Rick and Kris they were a beautiful Couple their both gone left some awesome memories. All the Nelson did .

Rick Nelson was FANTASTIC!
Very good, nostalgic time!
I had this single in 1962(?); the other side was "There's not a minute."
Released in May 1963, this was the B-side. The A-side was String Along. Both songs charted, with String Along going to No. 25 and Gypsy Woman going to No. 62.
my second favorite Burton guitar solo right behind believe what you say.
this fantastic song
JAMES BURTON plays the Fender Telecaster! He is still touring!
Thank you so much for up loading!
Happy to share :)
Nicely done. Thanks for posting.
I was fortunate enough to meet his family, ex-wife Kris, Tracy, Gunnar, Matthew and Sam. A very friendly and outgoing family, although Kris had her problems but is much better now.
Tracy has passed away
She made life hell for him

Zawsze miłe dla ucha mimo roznic jezykowych.Choc trochę rozumiem😍
Tha you for sharing this video, jesmelric. I am a big fan of Ricky Nelson and I would appreciate your sharing more Ricky Nelson videos.
אחד השירים הגדולים שלו.

Indeed our Australian group the Allusions had a very big hit with it out here.
Hello.
Thanks
Very good.
nice song gypsi woman
Wow!!
Thank you so much for posting this!
A new side of Rick Nelson :)
And... the video is FANTASTIC!
That's Kris in the crystal ball at the end :)
so great
Ricky Nelson spent a lot of time in the presence of gypsy women, back in the day. That;s where he got his mojo.
@wicked Tornado the musicians on this record and video include James Burton guitar Ritchie Frost drums Joe Osborne bass (not shown)and possibly Gene Garth piano. giantspacebeaver I',m thinking Joe osborn probably had a lot of studio dates with the Wrecking Crew that week
Great!!!!!

Thanks for the post.
It is too bad that Rick Nelson was not The Godfather of Soul instead of James Brown. Rick Nelson had NATURAL RHYTHM!
He’s not really a “soul” singer, he doesn’t scream and shout, I don’t know what to call Ricky, he was his own thing.
He’s not really pop, or soul, or rock, or country. I would say he’s a mix of Pop, Rock, and Country. More pop than anything.
great James Burton on guitar
Yes - and the great Rick Nelson singing!
Great
Awesome
Agree :)
Perhaps my favorite song by Rick but unfortunately others may not think so as it is excluded from mostly all of the greatest hits compilations except for the 4 CD legacy box set which cost too much and has many filler songs which I do not care for.
Rick nelson morde o lábio inferior, ninguem faz igual, é uma beleza!
Yes, his band was the Jordanaires...
I heard on news that His wife was mark harmons sister from ncis
Yes, the family photos in this video show Mark Harmon and his family.
💞💕❤️❤️💞💕🙏🛸✨
Bit that lip Rick YUM 😘💕
There sure are a lot of songs about gypsy women. Being part rom myself I can tell you that it isn't all that romantic. I haven't heard this one before. Did it ever chart on Billboard?
and of course James Burton
c' esté la music de mon cher amis mattéo vullo héllas décéde par une ball en plein front pietroldies
O.K.
Sounds like All Along The Watchtower. Or should I say Watchtower sounds like this?
Typically great guitar playing by a very young James Burton!
Burton was great. He played with Elvis and John Denver.
he's totally lookin like captain america😅

Yes you are correct and the sister is Kelly Harmon.
@jajoklwshw Happy to share :)
Tuesday Weld
IF he grew long sideburns he'd look like ELVIS!
Don't make em like Ricky anymore
A SAD LOSS FOR THE WORLD.
James is a great guitarist but things happen if he is in your band. Rick gone,
Elvis gone, Roy gone, Denver gone. He played with all of them. Yikes...LOL
I do have more to upload, keep checking my channel :)
ESSA CIGANA MULHER ESTÁ MAL CONTADA!
Jesus Christ YAHWEH
Ktoś kiedyś mnie tak określł cygańska dziewczyna.Nigdy nie byłam nią ale przykro że jego matka nas rozdzieliła
Ain’t Elvis... but he’s ok....
I dreamed about this song, this is way before my time.
